The theory said that the increase in sun spots correlated perfectly with world temperature, saying that when there's more sun spots, it's hotter. But over the past 10-15 years, there's been a steep decline in sun spots, but global temperatures just keep on rising. There has been global warming in the second half of the 20th century but the temperature peaked in 1998 and there has been considerable cooling since. Look, I respected your views and I didn't stoop to childish insults, it was through common courtesy that I expected you to respect mine. All I'm saying is that it's undeniable that global warming is being influenced by human activities, it's because of narrow-minded and abusive people like you that stop humankind from solving our greatest challenge. And if you're going to respond with abuse then don't bother for your own sake. It will only prove how childish you are

The theory that sun spots have an effect on global climate is completely unfounded. The theory said that the increase in sun spots correlated perfectly with world temperature, saying that when there's more sun spots, it's hotter. But over the past 10-15 years, there's been a steep decline in sun spots, but global temperatures just keep on rising. The theory that the sun is causing this effect on our solar system is interesting, but its undeniable that global warming is down to human activities

I don't care if someone believes in global warming or not, all that matters is if they're for clean energy alternatives and finding ways to lift us off our dependence on dangerous oil.

What a complete bonehead! Yes, the planet has been warming steadily since 1850. But that warming stopped in 1998. When are these idiots going to quit touting that nonsense?

Is Obama doing his homework on global warming? Its just a theory. But to most Americans it is as much fact as evolution (another unproven theory)... I know the first thing people are going to do is thumbs down this message. Its like trying to go back to the 13th century and telling folks earth is round

Have you done ANY homework on global warming? What proof do you have that global warming is not happening? The planet is warming- that is a PROVEN FACT by many scientists and thorough studies. Whether or not this warming is related to human activities is theory, although it has been shown many times that CO2 levels correlate to global temperatures.

Wow, you are ignorant.
It is PROVEN that carbon dioxide traps heat. This was proven in 1896 by Swedish chemist Svante Arrhenius (presumably the same who came up with the Arrhenius definition of acids and bases, but I'm not sure). Also proven is that humans are emitting huge amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, and CO2 levels have risen 25% in the past 250 years. Solar patterns have not changed, and the planet is warming.

Humans account for a very small percent of carbon emissions. The amount of heating relative to what scientists believe has happened many times in the distant to not-so-distant past is very low. The caps on mars are melting as well. Global warming caused by man is a hoax. Flame on.

Also, since when is Obama a racist sympathizer? You only hear what you want to hear. It annoys me that people see Obama and his preacher as being the same person, even though Obama VERY PUBLICLY and VERY CLEARLY denounced the preacher's comments and views.
