I agree. There's nothing any cooler about a Fisher Price Mac than about using a real computer. Being more expensive and restrictive and less customizable is not a benefit. If I want something virus resistant I use Linux. If I want video games I use Windows.
It's not even a competition between Mac and PC. Mac's not even on the list. My options are Windows, and Linux. I would be hesitant to take a Mac if it was free. I'd always feel like Apple was spying on my network.

@SamuraiM0 use both Mac and PC. Apple also has the option to customize any of their systems as well. There are stuff thats the mac is good for. There os stuff that the PC excels in in leaving the Mac in the dust. Both are good in their own way.

Most viruses are made to work only on PC´es. 99% of pc problems are virues relatet, if only people dident surf porn, used hacked software, and had a proper antivirus program, the would not have any problems. I REALLY hate how mac claims that it's so much better at making photos and videos. Those programs are amateur, get a PC and buy photoshop or after effects. Ya you have to buy it, and you have to be smart and learn it(Scary part for mac users) but the things you can do with it are endless. About viruses, the only time I have ever got them is from a shady download, don't download those and your fine, if you do get one, you always got avast. PC's can be hard to learn, but you get more freedom.

@Rangasoup, FINALLY. Someone who finally gets it. And the advantages with PC are better hardware. Yes, you can buy junk PC's for cheap, but top end PC's are better than macs. I have an i7 PC at 4Ghz that is more than twice as fast as a typical $1600 core2duo imac even at stock speed. And it's also faster than their $2000 imac, or $2500 version because I can OC beyond. And because of this it renders video far faster, and it does studio work fine too. Plus no problems with windows 7.
@rfsent5 DANG! 4Ghz. mine is 2.24 Ghz. anyways i love w7 and pc's. but one problem i am having is windows explorer. i delete a file and it stays there. i try to delete it again and it says its not there. sometiems i refresh and it works again but other times it does not. other than that no complaints. cant wait till the w7 service pack.
My philosophy is that, macs are generally for people that are new to computers, since they claim its very user-oriented with excellent graphical user interface and everything works right out of the box, no need for connecting many cables other than the AC power cable.
PCs on the other hand are generally designed for advanced users who like to get the most out of their machines which are fully customizable, upgradable for both soft/hardware

The point is that anyone can build a PC but Apple locks its OS to it's hardware so you have to buy the same guts in a fancy designer package. A PC is probably best for the "average" user, because it's inexpensive, and linux is too complex for most casual users. I do, however, recommend those who are willing to pay a bit more, to get a mac, but with windows 7, I agree, a PC is sufficient.

@DanyBarragan Man, I made my PC's with a steel case. I use a 45W CPU and an Antec's Green PSU. Steel is way more reusable than aluminum, and I'm using way less electricity. Plus, I spent one fourth of what Macs cost, while having the freedoms to put whatever software I want on my PC (besides OS X because of Steve Job's greed, but I don't want his unstable operating system, I'd rather use Unix or Windows).
Plus my PC parts don't come from slave factories like Apple and Foxconn's.

There's a very good reason there's no Mac viruses.
It's the same reason you don't shoot an invalid; he's in enough pain as is, and even a complete a-hole knows that.

my mac laptop can be turned off with the power button (i don't know of one that can't, but i could be wrong), and i've actually never had it crash on me (in around 2 years). however, with the 3 pc's that i use occasionally, they have ALL crashed multiple (anywhere from 2-4) times (one is about 6 years, 1 is about 3, and the other one is only 6 months). In the end, I prefer my mac because it is more reliable (something that is a necessity with online classes for school).
They crash because the internet is filled with viruses that are constantly evolving and anti-virus software can't keep up (even when you pay 50+ dollars a year for it on a PC). My mac, however, has never had a virus (not a single one) in over two years with absolutely no anti-virus software. I visit the same sites on both so it's not that I don't care about my PC's as much. I've been using computers for over a decade, so don't tell me I'm an idiot who doesn't know how to use them.
Well I guess I must be extremely lucky, or I'm just not a fucking idiot because the only computer I've had to have get fixed was one that my idiot friend dropped.

agreed. I've had my current rig for 6 years. Ran 2000 Pro without issue for 3. Upgraded to XP Pro and ran without issues. Switching to 7 later this week... My prediction? No issues like the last two.

That isn't one of the main selling features, the main selling point is that macs are the highest ranked in customer satisfaction of ANY computer company in the world. I was simply saying that macs can do anything that a windows computer can, while there are multiple programs that macs can run while windows can't. Any program ported to mac will be slow as shit due to hardware compatibility issues. By putting mac-pc classes on top of PC code, it's like putting a piece of plastic between a pencil and paper, and trying to write.
Again with the language... Can you make an argument without using such language? As a general rule, people will consider you far less intelligent if you swear throughout an argument. But, that aside, I use several windows program ports on an older base model Mac (about half the specs of current ones), and they all run perfectly well, no lag or anything. I'm not a Windows fanboy, despite what you think. I prefer PCs because of the nearly unlimited choices that you can get. Yeah, Windows has issues. If you were a hacker, would you want to hack 5% of the world, or 90%+ of the world? There's issues with Mac, they just won't admit it.
iphone does not equal mac, jabberwolf. iPhones are somewhat affordable even to lower income people. Macs are around the $1000 price range, so are not.
I said Apple uses the same marketing tactics. And when the iphone was at a higher cost, the biggest purchsers were still medium to lower income makers.

I agree with mathushanth, and others with the same opion. Most viruses are made to work only on PC´es. 99% of pc problems are virues relatet, if only people dident surf porn, used hacked software, and had a proper antivirus program, the would not have any problems. I am an user of both mac and pc. And by the way if you think Microsoft are evil, take a look at Apple, I think that if Apple had the same success as Microsoft, all stores in the world would be "App stores"

I REALLY hate how mac claims that it's so much better at making photos and videos. Those programs are amateur, get a PC and buy photoshop or after effects. Ya you have to buy it, and you have to be smart and learn it(Scary part for mac users) but the things you can do with it are endless. About viruses, the only time I have ever got them is from a shady download, don't download those and your fine, if you do get one, you always got avast. PC's can be hard to learn, but you get more freedom.

@Rangasoup, FINALLY. Someone who finally gets it. And the advantages with PC are better hardware. Yes, you can buy junk PC's for cheap, but top end PC's are better than macs. I have an i7 PC at 4Ghz that is more than twice as fast as a typical $1600 core2duo imac even at stock speed. And it's also faster than their $2000 imac, or $2500 version because I can OC beyond. And because of this it renders video far faster, and it does studio work fine too. Plus no problems with windows 7.

My philosophy is that, macs are generally for people that are new to computers, since they claim its very user-oriented with excellent graphical user interface and everything works right out of the box, no need for connecting many cables other than the AC power cable.
PCs on the other hand are generally designed for advanced users who like to get the most out of their machines which are fully customizable, upgradable for both soft/hardware

I can see on your channel that Apple is something you really care about. So let me clarify: I didn't deny that Macs "are worth it". I said they are rather stylish. That's worth a lot. And I have enough experience with them to know that they do not "lack right-click functionality" or sth like that.
The point of my post was simply that Apple's marketing campains create a wrong impression by suggesting that there is anything "pirate"-like about Macs - just because MS is number 1 on the market.

well I agree, but there are some naughty things bout macs. I use a mac, Im being very objective, and my only complaints are :
- hitting caps lock on a laptop will not turn num lock on
- the wireless range isnt the best you could have
- when the os shows a dialogue with 'ok' and 'cancel', you cant use the arrow keys to switch

The point is that anyone can build a PC but Apple locks its OS to it's hardware so you have to buy the same guts in a fancy designer package. Windows and Linux are allowed to run on whatever brand of hardware you want so therefore they are more flexible and sell better. @mathushanth When it comes to web browsers, here's how I rate them: Chrome>Firefox>Safari>Opera>IE. Just my personal opinion. A PC is probably best for the "average" user, because it's inexpensive, and linux is too complex for most casual users. I do, however, recommend those who are willing to pay a bit more, to get a mac, but with windows 7, I agree, a PC is sufficient.

@DanyBarragan Man, I made my PC's with a steel case. I use a 45W CPU and an Antec's Green PSU. Steel is way more reusable than aluminum, and I'm using way less electricity. Plus, I spent one fourth of what Macs cost, while having the freedoms to put whatever software I want on my PC (besides OS X because of Steve Job's greed, but I don't want his unstable operating system, I'd rather use Unix or Windows).
Plus my PC parts don't come from slave factories like Apple and Foxconn's.

There's a very good reason there's no Mac viruses.
It's the same reason you don't shoot an invalid; he's in enough pain as is, and even a complete a-hole knows that.
It's funny; whatever a Mac can do, a Computer can do AND MORE. The mac is good if you don't want to think. If you have even a few functional brain cells, Windows is more flexible, compatible and carries far more potential.

my mac laptop can be turned off with the power button (i don't know of one that can't, but i could be wrong), and i've actually never had it crash on me (in around 2 years). however, with the 3 pc's that i use occasionally, they have ALL crashed multiple (anywhere from 2-4) times (one is about 6 years, 1 is about 3, and the other one is only 6 months). In the end, I prefer my mac because it is more reliable (something that is a necessity with online classes for school).

They crash because the internet is filled with viruses that are constantly evolving and anti-virus software can't keep up (even when you pay 50+ dollars a year for it on a PC). My mac, however, has never had a virus (not a single one) in over two years with absolutely no anti-virus software. I visit the same sites on both so it's not that I don't care about my PC's as much. I've been using computers for over a decade, so don't tell me I'm an idiot who doesn't know how to use them.

Well I guess I must be extremely lucky, or I'm just not a fucking idiot because the only computer I've had to have get fixed was one that my idiot friend dropped.
It's ok though, you mac users can keep buying your over priced computers and sit there with a smugg look thinking that you're better than pc users. I'll enjoy being able to do something other than edit videos on my pc thanks.

You're right, all these years the life of a PC is about 3 months because after that viruses only allow you to see the blue screen of death. I guess thats why PC sales are so high, they have to be replaced so often with all those viruses just completely destroying them........

agreed. I've had my current rig for 6 years. Ran 2000 Pro without issue for 3. Upgraded to XP Pro and ran without issues. Switching to 7 later this week... My prediction? No issues like the last two.

That isn't one of the main selling features, the main selling point is that macs are the highest ranked in customer satisfaction of ANY computer company in the world. I was simply saying that macs can do anything that a windows computer can, while there are multiple programs that macs can run while windows can't. Any program ported to mac will be slow as shit due to hardware compatibility issues. By putting mac-pc classes on top of PC code, it's like putting a piece of plastic between a pencil and paper, and trying to write.

Again with the language... Can you make an argument without using such language? As a general rule, people will consider you far less intelligent if you swear throughout an argument. But, that aside, I use several windows program ports on an older base model Mac (about half the specs of current ones), and they all run perfectly well, no lag or anything. I'm just curious, but have you ever actually used a mac?

I'm not a Windows fanboy, despite what you think. I prefer PCs because of the nearly unlimited choices that you can get. Yeah, Windows has issues. If you were a hacker, would you want to hack 5% of the world, or 90%+ of the world? There's issues with Mac, they just won't admit it.

Well actually they found that yeah, those on the mid or lower levels of income are the largest purchasers of iphones.

iphone does not equal mac, jabberwolf. iPhones are somewhat affordable even to lower income people. Macs are around the $1000 price range, so are not.

I said Apple uses the same marketing tactics. And when the iphone was at a higher cost, the biggest purchsers were still medium to lower income makers.
