Columbia was straight hardcore back in these days boi i mean take no prisoners giving other bands the axe when they played boi in my opinion they,re the real powerhouse band in Dekalb Co. (no disrespect Redan) I remember this Jambo like the Alphabet i was a sophomore around this time as a matter of fact i was there when CHS faced RHS an i gotta tell when i heard them play this especially when they "unleashed the power" on them i literally jumped out of my seat their sound is explosive.

If you don't like the music, step off! This black band/white band stuff is nonsense. For the ignorant (the state of not knowing), this is a JAMBOUREE, basically a Battle Of the Bands or showcase. This is how is goes down in the south. Music competitions don't always involve marching hence solo and ensemble or a band festival. And if you don't know, this isn't all that black bands can do. We do some of the same things white bands do as well and can be better on ANY given day.

the only reason ppl think columbia was louder was they had an intrumentation that was very brass heavy and arrangements intended for blowing before music (no offense intended cause i love columbia to def)redan had a heavier woodwind section that softens the bite of the brass ( why do you think dci and the swac hav such a phenomenal brass sound) besides if you heard redan dance routine, not only did they demonstrate the power of a 200+ band they did it without losing control
