  • One of my favorites! Thank you Thomas =)

  • @BardoGamer Thanks :) Glad you like it!

  • Love the way you play!!

  • If they claims with DMCA counter-nofication, no way to revive it.

  • @phanuruch8555 But claiming copyright on this is absurd - Music is Copyright Free - And its me playing and recording at my old room at my parents place! Its just absurd! ...

  • Koch Entertainment added this to YouTube mix by a copyright.

  • @thomandy Please subscribe my chanel

  • 3 Idiots!

  • Nice!! Is verry goooddd!!!!!!

  • @TheGreatePerformers Hi, thanks!!:)

  • i wish it had a biiit more accelerando at parts but at the same time SUCHa delightful piece and you handled it quite perfectly. good on ya mate you made my day =]

  • @ISMsoccerboy Yes, I agree! I was unexperienced when I first performed it and I would of course play it much better now! :) Thanks!

  • Very well played Thomas, have you ever considered learning the final Movement, Presto Agitato. Your skill level is about right to play the piece. Anyway, smash version.

  • @Hailsy96 Yes :) Its a piece I want to learn, Might start to learn the notes this year! But there is so much that I want to learn :) .. Thanks!:)

  • so moving...

  • nicely done bud

  • Resident Evil!

    Nice playing =D

  • Hi:) Very nice to hear!:) It was one of my first steps in musicality-development I think!:)

  • good job! watch my version and comment, thx =)

  • beautiful

  • =] Nice i just learned the 3rd mov smoothly . Same as the 1st~! But the second i can do but not good.

  • @WarHeat2 - no the third is slightly different and played much much faster

  • I just rating but I dont comment just because I´ve not words to describe... 5*****

  • Hi =) Glad you like it :)

  • I love this... so peaceful...

Thank you for playing it that nice!!

    Wonderful!!

  • WOW!

en realidad tu interpretación es buena muy, especial y ELEGANTE, me encanta esta pieza, por que es dela famosa pelicula de "el pianista", no obstante espero y me encantaría que interpretaras:

"Preludio Op. 3 No 2 Rachmaninov"

"Preludio No.8 the girl of the linen hair"

  • totally awesome

  • I love this piece Thomandy! I'm learning it right now and it's really beautiful. I play it over and over!

  • lol =)

  • Do you know any other mov of this song?

  • No! =)

  • I can give you the sheets for the 2nd and 3rd mov. if you want them.

  • Thre is the Second and the third!

  • with no disrespect this would sound so much better on a piano. you play rhythmically. try putting more feeling into your playing its a very elusive piece of music well done?

  • Yeah, it would sound better on a real piano. :)

But I dont think there anything wrong with the feelings i manage to put in this! :)

  • Very beautiful piece and well played (i play it a little bit faster) but i also like it so

  • Tnx :) Yeah, I like it both a bit faster an like this.

It sort of depends on my mood :)

  • magical!

  • very good!

Can you play movement 3? Not trying to sound mean but, I doubt you can play the third movement.

But I guess you can soon, as you progress very quickly.

I'd like a tutorial as I am insecure about the chords! (Just a request!)

  • Sorry, but I haven't practiced it in 5months, so its almost all gone from my memory! :) But if you learned Noc 9 2 in 3hours, this should be even easier! Cause this is Grade 4. =)

  • Can't find any how-to videos though.

  • Ah yes it may be Grade 4, but this movement is deceptively simple and in fact very difficult to play - I like your interpretation. The C#/D dissonance at 5:26 is my favourite moment. :)

  • Hi mathetesfoot!

Thanks. Glad that you like this interpretation :)

  • Great playing, Thom. I can play this too. What brand is your digital piano? It sounds great. Is it by any chance a Roland?

  • Tnx. Its a Yamaha CLP-240 :)

    I like it alot :)

  • Awesome!5 stars!

  • You´re great, Thom.

  • Tnx :)

  • beautiful...WOW!

  • i love this song soo much you r amazing

  • Very nice peerformance of this beautiful piece. I like this tempo and play it in a similar one.

  • The filmic visualisation is very nice, too.!

  • Thanks :)

  • what a song! i love this song and u play it more than perfect congratulation :)

  • Glad you like it =)

  • good 5*

  • I am so glad I found you! You play beautifully!

  • Thanks =)

  • I like how you played YOUR interpretation! nice! ;)

  • amazinggg!!! love it!!! excellent as USUAL!!! =) i love this i can play this too!!

  • Beautiful song

  • Yeah =) Tnx for the comment =)

  • It is a very wonderful performance and light up. It matches an image of this music that I have.

  • nice video. Awesome tone on the keyboard. You know all the movements? i only know the last one. but again GREAT JOB!

  • Tnx =) Nope, I only know this mov. You know how to play the 3mov?? Nice! =)

  • yeah, learned it when i was still taking lessons. Once you learn the first 2 or 3 pages its pretty simple to pick up the rest of the song, I've tried to record it but i keep making way too many mistakes. Still gotta master it.

  • Ah, I see =) You got to give me a msg once you get it uploaded then :) GL =)

  • I learned it, but do not split open now. I learned it parallelism moved a keyboard and a wrist as for the Arpeggio of the music, and to play it. I learned it when I must not use the use of the pedal more than it in score. Because there are much staccato. Hardly upload it. The reason is because it cannot memorize it.

  • I'm sorry. This is comment for the third movement.

  • You are amazing:)))))beautifull. :)))))))

  • wow this is gd

i think ill learn to play it now thanks xD

  • 5 star, very well played, I didn't know keyboard can express such dynamic and emotion just like piano.

  • Tnx. Well this is a very good digital piano, with g3 technology. It cant be compare to a keyboard, its better sound in my piano in real life than many real acoustic pianos :)

  • This is Max Brunak (6). I think you did great! Thank you for complimenting me.

  • Coherent, convincing, assured (excellent control of dynamics) playing style. Very good musical taste. Miracles with your digital (really enjoyable but a real piano is better),

and the light/images are also well thought and realized, as audio quality. 5 stars.

  • Thank you :)) Really appreciate all those nice words ;D Tnx!! :)

  • Very excellent video.

  • nICE JOB tHOMAS.. ThANKS fOR vISITiNG aND CommENtING On MY vIDEo.. kEEP ON pLAyING THE PiAnO.. yOu ReaLLy ArE gREaT.. nICE pLAyING tHiS sonATA oF BEeTHOvEN.. God bLESS...

  • the candles really set the mood for this piece also...

i wish i know more about classical sometimes =P

but yes, very beautifully played =)

  • Beautiful.

  • it's really nice!

  • awesome...thnx for commenting on my vid...u play like a Professional =D

  • Love it!!! This is by far one of the very best interpretations of this piece - So Emotional!! :) 5stars

  • k a few things:

first i luv the candles :P

second its really good but would sound ENORMOUSLY better on a real piano

and what key are you playing it in??

    great job :D

  • Thanks =) Its in E major! :)

  • ok good cuz theres other versions where its writin in a "flat" key, like e flat major, and even b flat major!!

  • Very nice performance !!

  • here for another listen

    awesome

  • The image why moonlight pours into calmly is heated. Nice performance!

  • Nice playing - I like the tempo! This is one of my favorite playings of this piece I have ever heard. I love the subtlety of the left hand around 2:55.

What do you think of the pause around 00:46 seconds?

I think the triplets could move together a little more. They could have more of a feeling of Loud-soft-softer, they could dance a bit more.

The phrasing is so awesome. I think a section from 2:48-2:52 stands out because the rest is so awesome and so well thought through.

  • Hi =) Thank you :)

I dont notice any pause around 00.46 though? :P hehe

Also not sure what you meant by 2.48-52, did you like that or was there something there that didnt fit?? :) Yeah, I agree on the tripletfeeling!! I practice that now(mp-p-pp) =)

  • The pause at 00.46 is in how you interpreted the soprano G# (with the rhythm dotted eighth note, sixteenth, dotted eighth). It's just one way of interpreting - just wondering what you'd think if you paused less.

The ending is outstanding and textbook - most of the slowdown happens before you get to the end, then the last notes are simple, straightforward, and surprising. Bravo!

  • Thanks, did'nt see this part of the comment first! Glad my ending was at a high level :)) And thanks for the Great Reply :)

  • As for 2:48-2:52 - it seems to me that there's a phrase of half notes that starts at C#, then goes B#, C#, D# (pause), D#, E (pause), D#, C#, B# end of phrase.

Around 2.45-2.55, it seems that you're thinking of the last three notes (D#, C#, B#) as a separate musical phrase, another sentence. I think that if you try it both ways, you will like it better as one large phrase. Give it a try if you're interested. The rest is so much better, this stands out.

I like the candles and the moons!! :)

  • nice playing dude, i was actualy learning this on guitar the other day :P, its really hard tho

  • Tnx =) Yeah, I guess its a lot harder on guitar?! :)

  • you have to shift your finger possitions alot so i get confused as to what part im playing ol, ill do a vid of me playing when i have it all down

  • Yeah, I see =) Well good luck on it :) And send it to me when its done :))

  • I don't know much about technicalities, tempo and so on yet, but I know this is played from the soul. Congratulations once again Thomas!

  • very beautifully played. hundreds of stars.

    love kelly

  • Thank you ;D

  • Thank you :)) Only a couple of critics so far :) And again thank you, means a lot :))

  • That is my all time favorite Beethoven piece. You played it beautifully!!! How do you do it??? Now, I'm waiting to hear you or Andrew play Beethoven Rondo e capriccio Op.129. Rage over a lost penny...another favorite.

  • 1.

In the beginning you make excuse for your tempo.

One time the great Pavarotti made a recording. You can understand at the end he sung the last note to long. The conductor said to him ''You sing what the composer means, other way I stop this recording''.

I'm only a listener and have not the knowledge, but play a part the way you like.

  • 2.

A dear (lady)friend of me, is a piano-teacher. Watch ''Un Sospiro, Liszt, B.Rose, Rochester, Minnesota'' and you can hear she plays that part more them a minute longer as average. I like her way of playing that composition the most.

    (Granddaddy) Cor

    Netherlands

  • Hi =) Well I dont excuse the tempo :) Cause this is my intention, but it seamed on some of the comments I got that they thought I made a mistake by selecting this tempo. :)

  • you continue to amaze me... non-stop!!! I love love love the tempo... very soothing, and very suitable for the night. candles too! you are so artistic. I wonder how you did those transition in the videos from different angles, yet the sound stays in sync.

  • Hi =) Thank you :)

Well I use a able to rec the audio, so there is only one auditrack, thats a good thing about a digital piano :))

  • Beautiful, Thom! Very expressive. RPC (Novena Boy)

  • Splendid. There's a great atmosphere here! Great moment for me, thank you.

  • Love - LOVE - this song. Great job!!

  • Wow, I like this tempo. Thats how it should be played! Awesome job! This is one of my favorite classical pieces!

  • Thank you so much :))))

    I really apriciate it :)

  • Ottimo

  • my fav.

    You did it awesome

  • Thanks a lot Ben. You Rock ;))

  • you are realy good!!!! and i love your piano, i hope one day i can have one like that, this is one of my favorite songs, i still practicing to play it well. nice work!!!!

  • be-u-ti-full!!!

    i loved it...x]]

i can't wait to play this song myself...^^

great job and keep up the good work...[x

    wizzah~

  • Nice work, buddy! It's pretty awesome timing because I just finished learning this piece as well! I'm in the process of recording it myself. It should be up by the weekend...hopefully!

    Keep it up!

  • nice job! :] this is gorgeous.

  • Beautiful work mate, lovely piece and you did it so well. this was a pleasure to listen to, 5 stars

  • Hi =) Tnx =))

  • this is beautiful.:)

  • Thomas. very beautiful. I like the tempo

and the candle:D. Awesome performance. 5/5*

  • very NICE indeed ... the candles augment well.

  • Very nice! I like it.

  • Hi =) Thank you =)

  • This is a bit familiar to me. Didn't know the title but i knew how the song sounded from the first 2 notes :p. NICE again i would say.

  • Great job! You managed the big reach to the B in the piece! I can't and I've to use my left hand for that heeh. Then again, I've got tiny fingers. Try playing this piece on an acoustic piece! I think you'll get goosebumps! =D

  • Thanks =) Well, Keep in mind that I dont got pro rec-equipment. The Real Sound is way better ;) It creates really simular sound as an acoustic piano!! :) Its a 3000dollar piano :) Actually better sound on this than many acoustic pianos :))

  • Hello My Y-Friend :)

    First of all: FANTASTIC INTERPERETATION!!!!!!!!!

Second: Well, yeah, this might be even better than Kempff and all those, maybe not technically, but I LOVE that its as slow as it is!!! The fast ones are NOT as EMOTIONAL at all!!! :)

Third: You are one of Y - Best talents!!! On of the very best talents for sure!

    5stars from your Y-Friend :)

  • This piece is my MOST FAVORITE PIECE, of Beethoven.

It is near the VEY TOP OF MY FAVORITE PIECE.

    Its VERY CLOSE.

    This is played beautifully.

I wish I could play like you!

  • Great job. Does need to be played a bit faster though, as that is how Beethoven wanted it interpreted *****

  • Tnx :) Well, thats what interpetation is all about, creating a version of your own... and I like it slower than the 6min-ish's, and it seams many others based on the comments also like to hear a slower one aswell :)

  • Great work! May we call your interpretation the candlelight sonata? And now will someone please give this guy a piano for all of his hard work and talent?

  • Hehe, thank you :))

  • This is wonderful, Thomas!

  • Wow you learned Moonlight Sonata already? That is very impressive Thomas! And it sounded really good!

BTW I miss you guys back on the forum, just so much stuff has been going on. I'll try to get back on :) Also I finally got over my scare of Claire de Lune and it's coming along really well :)

  • Don't worry.

U will get better at it.

    Just keep practicing.

  • Hi =) Tnx :)

    I got a score of 91/100 on it :)

  • I sent it to all my 1039 friends.

  • Woah :))) Thanks - You are Very Kind :)

  • Thank you!

    But ur kinder.

    I love this piece.

But I'm gonna check ur veiws.

    A few seconds ago u had 193.

  • 1992peter introduced this to me, and I thank him so much, I have now heard one of my favourite versions of the moonlight sonata! 5 STAR!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for posting.

  • Now, the one other thing i noticed that could be improved is that your Octaves in the LH be given their own seperate and interesting vocal line. Like when the Octaves go from A to G# to F# etc, you can use those moments in the base to sing as well. I'm not saying this should be to loud. But try to make the notes line up and join together in a lovely melody. This is pretty hard to do with slow octaves as it mostly involves dynamic smoothness than anything. :) anyway you did VERY VERY well! A+

  • Hey =) Thanks matey ;D hehe

I thought I used long - But I guess I did alright then, cause it took me longer to learn this piece than the Maple Leag Rag :P 4h vs 6h... But I used 5 dayes though, one day pr page. Thanks for the A+ :) Have a nice day Andrew =)

  • :) anyway! So, you sounded VERY good, I loved the slow tempo, I think you picked the perfect speed to play this at. Your pedaling was great, your dynamics were excellent as well. I'd say you get a 91 on this piece. and FOR SURE! 5 stars! more like 10 stars! haha :)

Alright, Now here's what you CAN improve on this piece. Your RH top note needs to sing out over the rest of the middle. I heard you doing this alittle but it wasn't consistent. Try to keep that top note singing out throughout!

  • ahh! Moonlight sonata! I know this piece inside and out. about 8 years ago I got a hold of the sheet music to this peiece and was so excited to learn it, I spent 12 hours straight on it the first day and learned ALL the notes of the piece in a single day! I had the whole piece memorized in less than a week. Then I wanted to be able to play it in the moonlight, so I trained myself in the next 2 weeks to play the whole piece note perfect with a blind fold on. :)

  • You're really a creative person, Thomas!!...Nice Playing!!...This is a unique version of Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement!!!...

  • Wow, beautiful! Congratulations, mate!

And I like the candles =D

  • I like your interpretation of it... I think that the way you played it suits the music perfectly.

Im glad your still cranking out new videos

    :D

  • Thanks :) Yeah, Im not stopping yet :) hehe

  • reminds me of thatguywiththeglasses, ah your taste is music is great

  • Hehe, what guy?? =)

    Thanks :)

  • I really envy you, Thomas. I love how you can just learn a song and play it too such a high standard, then post it on the interntet!

Really good! I love all of you'r video's.

  • Thanks =) Glad you liked it, and yeah. You are very right. I will try to learn all the mvt. some day :)) Tnx!!! =)

  • Thomas, what a beautiful beginning to a new week here! I truly love your sense of dynamics.

And your slower pace is more evocative of the

composition's theme and mood. When this is played faster, it becomes repetitive for the

listener because the notes don't have sufficient breathing room. This is definitely

the most sensual version I've heard. And I'd

like to think LvB himself would prefer your timing if he also had benefit of today's instruments. Bravo! ~Terry

  • Yeeeay :) Hehe, great to hear that, cause thats exactly what I feel to :) Thanks for giving me confidence that I have done the right thing :)

  • Hehe - I was waiting for a comment like that, But this is my interpetation :) And I like it slower than those played at 6min-ish :))

  • man.

    you're so good.

    I really envy you.

I'm studying this piece right now.

    Man.

  • Hi =) Thanks =)

So how is the piece going??

  • My piece you mean??

    Uhmmmm.

    Just don't ask. hahahaha

    Actually I'm really in

    a handicapped right now.

Some of my piano keys are broken

so I can't really practice well.

I can only play the first page of

    the pieace. LOl.

    hehehe.

  • Ah, and I forgot to tell something: you made nice mood with those candles! ^^ Good idea, hehe.

    Have a nice day! =)

  • Thom, just three words: I. LOVE. IT! ;D

OK, to be serious. You did a fantastic job. It's a beautiful performance of a wonderful piece (one of my favourites, btw), congratulations! =)

I'm going to learn it someday, it actually sounds quite simple, but still really, really beautiful. :) LOL, but when I saw the sheets, it didn't look so simple though. :P What grade is it? I think I'll try it one day, now I have too much unfinished pieces to learn.

    Yay, I love your performance! 1,000,000 * + fav! ;)

  • thank you

  • Hehe =)) Thank you to ;)

  • man... YOU'RE THE BEST

  • Hehe =) Kind as always :) Thank you! =)

  • The Best Version On Youtube =))))

Even compares to the pros like Kempff, but this is actually more relaxing than his interpetation :) 500 stars =) 5*
