The closing credits appear to originally be extracted from "Scooby's Mystery Funhouse," which was the 1985-86 season title for the anthology of the 1980-83 Scooby & Scrappy-Doo shorts.
at the time (1970's-1987) The Taft Broadcasting Company (a big radio and TV station chain owned H-B. Taft was later sold to a man named Carl Lindner who renamed the Taft company :Great American Broadcasting, He in turn sold H-B to Ted Turner, who sold his company to Time Warner, who in turn merged the physical H-B into Warner Animation which was led and staffed at the time by many ex H-B staffers. H-B produced many of Cartoon Network's earliest series.........
(excluding the canadian produced Ed,Ed'nEddy)but by the time Bill Hanna Died in 2000-01
H-B was split in half- the large HB library and all intellectual rights and future rights to the "classic cartoons" possible revivals (eg Scooby) were taken over by Warner Bros. while all rights to CN originals including those that originated at HB including Dexter Johnny Bravo and the Powerpuff Girls and all future production of most new CN animated material were shifted to the newly created CNStudios
I noticed there was a small box with (I'd assume) an assortment of HB characters (I think this was common in HB cartoons produced during the 70s and early 80s); that was part of the last in-credit notice before the actual logo
quizmaster85 good you asked, It's actually the full cast of the show the "little box HB used is actually the character group sketch
often referred to as the "dramatis personae, or cast of characters. HB did this a lot on their shows, but the use of these sketches was/is common for use in magazines, artbooks and other uses. until recently commonfolk (i.e you and I) never got to see these things past a newspaper clipping. HB used it, WB Disney & most animation/ anime studios use it today..
go to any Borders or B&N and look in the Animation/Graphic Novels Department and look for an artbook from any famous animated movies/series and they usually have a group sketch in them.
I need to remind you that this version of the S&S closing credits was originally used to close out the "Scary Scooby Funnies" block on ABC when it was ran from 1984-86.
The "Scary Scooby Funnies" block, which was a compilation of the 7-min "Scooby and Scrappy-Doo" episodes originally broadcast from 1980-83, used a modified version of the same opening title used for "The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries."
swirling star logo is the coolest thing I ever did see in along time since I was little boy watching it come out. H-B people are geniouses bring this out. -Chester
This same combo appears on "Scooby-Doo and Scrappy Doo" on Boomerang in North America. In the combo, the Hanna-Barbera jingle plays at normal speed, but the Warner Bros. jingle is slowed down. That is why the WB jingle plays at normal speed in this video.
Also, the reason why the H-B logo has no byline is that Warner Bros. re-released it under their umbrella with the addition of the WB logo and the AOL (sic) Time Warner byline.
Actually, the reason why the H-B logo has no byline is because Taft changed their name to Great American Broadcasting in 1988 and crudely blacked out the Taft byline.
my bad...this is from the first edition of Scooby and Scrappy Doo. The second version had the characters' drawings in the credits and lasted for three years before the next edition had the spilled orange juice background used for a bunch of HB shows during that period, along with portraits of the main characters.
Most of H-B's other 1979-80 season shows had model sheet backgrounds for closing credits, as did most of their 1978-79 season Saturday morning offerings.
Sticking with bible cartoons, Daniel and the Lion's Den has been retold many times, most notably in VeggieTales, in 1993.

Only after around 1966 or so. Not on Top Cat or the early shows. [THERE were some TRUE classic HB shows!]

The WB logo is not sped up. So it's an NTSC broadcast.
FContreras85 4 years ago
But the Swirling Star music is sped up so why not the WB logo since it's a PAL transfer?
Jac2Mac 4 years ago
Is the music during the WB logo sped up or is it a PAL version of the WB music?

I recorded this in ireland from tg4 it is a pal broadcast as are all of my uploads, thanks for the comments.
