sc is a balanced game. each build order has a certain weakness like marines > hydras, lurkers > marines. zerglings> dragoons, zealots/ > lings. etc. just depends on skill
there is no real race that can always beat another because the game is balanced so well. eve4ry unit has a counter for the most part, its all in the player to outplay the opponent
other than obvious build advantages. such as normally a 9pool will beat a 12hatch, stuff like that.
Cholera, Moletrap, and Rise are my favourite SC2GG commentators :D. Always a pleasure hearing from you guys. I also think you should be pro and deserve to be able to do this for a living :P.
CHOLERAsc ......... YOU ARE THE BEST, I'V BEEN ASKING MYSELF ABOUT OSL, MSL, ... you should get paid for this ..... if there is going to be in sc2 some sort of special comentary sofware (like i heard) i'm sure that you will be one of the OFFICIAL COMENTATORS FOR THAT TOO, hope you'll get paid for that
If you guys really think Cholera should get paid for this -- and I agree he should -- he has asked for contributions for equipment and such (but more importantly time), so you can PM him about his Paypal account.
Dang this is really professional. Sometimes I think you could get paid for this Cholera. I mean, you are more active than Artosis even when it comes to posting videos and he gets paid.

i dont get it, whats the difference between starcraft and any other rts? Starcraft seems so shallow compared to newer stuff like Dawn of War, is it really that deep?
StarCraft can be extremely micro-intensive, units die very fast compared to DoW and so on and losing a single unit like a Science Vessel can really cause you problems. It's pretty harsh compared to other RTS games.
if you think its shallow you need to watch alot more matches.
Its exciting because its 3 races are more different then most other RTS, its extremely balanced, theres so many ways to accomplish a type of objective, and the maps are so important to the game making it interesting in another way.
Its also fast paced often times.
The differentlevels of strategy, from cloaking/burrowing to special flying types and how to counter them, defense tactics.
Right now the phaes of the PL we are in is called the Shinhan Bank PL 08-09 round 1. Not the second half of the '08.
The greater mistake: there's no such rule as "the same race cannot be played by a team on a specific map in consecutive mathes". The only new rule concerning the maps and races is that a team must send at least one player of all 3 races on the first 4 sets of the game. (Thanks to this rule Skt and Khan arent owning, cuz they dont have zergs)
actually he is correct with the same race policy, The same race cannot be played on the same map two games in a row.
For example: If Sea plays on Colosseum in today's match, a Terran player cannot be played on Colosseum for MBC the next game. This opens up layers of strategies and mixes up the match-ups week to week. Look forward to far less TvTs this season with the new format thanks to this twist.
Hmm, the awesome video clips really made me think: someone needs to do a video that pieces together some of Cholera's best games! I don't think I have the time/skill to do it...Anyone?
Also, it could be a good way to introduce people to pro-SC to just link together Awesome SC2GG commentator clips together (I want an all-cholera one but it would also be cool to show how popular SC is and the diversity of good game commentators out there!).
holy crap that maelstrom in the beginning was REDICULOUS!!! anyways that was really interesting. i like the clips spliced in, you definitely spent some time with this! on to the next ones...
I thought Cholera would have read the Sc2gg article that corrected the "race rule" but I guess he didn't. The PL "rule" where you can't use the same race twice on a map is false was a translating error. BachHo apologized for the error and I guess I should apologize for not telling you it was false after telling you and finding out.
The PL rule is actually you need to field at least one player of each race in the first four sets. One of each race Protoss, Terran and Zerg. So mirror matches often
Whoah, just started watching this video and I can already see this is gonna be entertaining :] helps the newbies and also reminds the ones who are already into starcraft the basics (and something more).Keep up the great work man :P
hey cholera, the proleague rule that says you can't have the same race twice on the same map for consecutive matches is actually false; there was some sort of error in translation as I understand it
chloera, you are the man! thanks for giving us this, im sure this will help a lot o people know about this great game of starcraft, this will help the comunity grow too. thanks man, CHOLERA RULES!!
Hmm I'm absolutely certain Jaedong has played on raid assault twice in a row if not more. Perhaps the rule is only for specific teams vs. specific teams? In which case they only have to change the race on the map once or twice a month.
Awesome presentation!

What game was the first one you showed with Reach's Dark Archons? I've never seen it but god knows I want to now.
atla18 2 years ago
That first clip of Reach using Dark Archon's and Maelstrom is from an old game -- Reach vs Chojja -- it's on Cholera's Pimpest Play's commentary's.
And if anyone's wondering, the 2nd clip is Bisu vs Pokju.

The only race that can beat others are the Jaedong, which is an upgraded version of the Zerg..
Unfortunately, Jaedong the pro-gamer is the only one who's found this secret fourth race.
In fact, not even the blizzard programmers knew about it until they saw Jaedong play them.
Thy look the same as normal zerg, but defies all the rules the normal zerg has.
E.g. a 12hatch Jaedong beats a 9pool zerg most of the time.

well, its alot more "realistic". When you look at a fight between 2 parties fight and nobody seems to die its just kinda boring...
