  • thanks for the info.

  • Amazing! Muy bueno..saludos desde Rumania!

  • The spanish people is better than Argetinian people

  • ¿Qué mal, Remedios, compañera, que por ser morena gitana? is better translated as "What harm, Remedios, my friend [female], from being a darkinned Gypsy [female]?" Remedios is a name of a locally famous Gypsy singer.

  • The Flamenco version of the Chinese Water torture.

  • my dad is is spain

  • this is Flamenco from spain not latin america, lived in spain 3yrs

    Argentina?)

  • This is a clip from Latch Drom I have loaded the entire film in 10 parts if you care to watch them. Beautiful music

  • masuf usvssaui

  • oh, for whoever asked why they brick up the door? the gypsies moved in to the empty house, so they brick the doors and windows to keep them out, and the cops come and tell the bricklayers not to worry they got it from there. then the song starts where they are singing about being treated bad. a gypsy life is very simple, they take what they need only, will give you the shirt off their back, and work hard, its just in their culture they dont understand the idea of rent. i dont either though.

  • Excellent song and storytelling. Some people think Flamenco is just about dancing and singing about long lost love but I love how this movie showed that Flamenco can also tell a story, an uncomfortable but true one. ;) Please give us more songs and don't forget the stories!

  • 40 people are brits think Spain as a place to get pissed in resorts such as Benidorm without speaking a WORD of the local lingo or trying any local culture - just staying in a british ghetto with lagers, sun newspapers and burnt skin.

  • Does anyone know more flamenco songs about the oppression Gypsies faced? This is a great example but I need more for my paper!?!

  • Why did they brick up the windows and doors????

  • best

As pequenas aldeias e vilas sao a nossa historia, nao podemos esquecer!

  • So proud to be a gypsy! :)

  • gypsies are awesome... wish i have bloody relations with this beautiful human breed

  • Latcho Drom

  • I feel a lot racism

  • This is awesome. Really indescriptibely awesome... When I listen to flamenco songs...songs full of passion, emotions, the deepest feelings which are showing with guitar sounds, clapping, castanets... I feel like electricity passes through me... like being born on Spanish land even though I wasn't born there....it is truly intensive feeling. Mi patria amada....♥

  • the deepest and most beautiful thing I've ever heard!!!

  • can some1 tell wot this is about plz???

  • Is there a way to download the song or chorus somewhere?

  • LaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Comment removed

  • What is the meaning of this song? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TRANSLATE IT IN ENGLISH? I would appreciate it!!

  • @foodynik The chorus says:

¿Por qué me escupes la cara?

¿Por qué me escupes la cara?

¿Qué mal te puedo hacer yo que por ser morena gitana?

¿Qué mal, Remedios, compañera, que por ser morena gitana?

"Why do you spit on my face?

What harm can I do to you by being a dark-skinned Gypsy woman?

What harm, Remedios,my mate, by being a dark-skinned Gypsy woman?"

It goes on telling about the oppression suffered by Gypsies from the time of the queen Isabel la Católica, Hitler, Franco.

  • @Malelolan i think its actually porque me culpa la cara, which means "where is the blame on my face?" in other words why do you blame me for the color of my skin?

  • @lastoftheki Sorry, but no. They clearly say "escupes". They pronounce the 2 "s" in that word as"h", sort of like "ehcupeh". That may be why you are having trouble hearing it.

  • @Malelolan im familiar with the pronunciation style, like andaluthia, or balenthia (andalusia, valencia) i spent some time in spain. i just am not that good with the grammar. i had to look it up, i guess you are right.

  • @lastoftheki Good on you lastoftheki. This is not the "th" issue though. This is about how the pronounce "s" at the end of word or a syllable. It's how they speak the language in southern Spain, as in Andalucia. A similar pronunciation style is present in some Latin American countries. I'm a native Spanish speaker.

  • @Malelolan i better brush up on it then, i want to move to latin america lol.

  • I guess the man is being arrested for putting bricks on the wall.

  • Que excelente es tu duende peliculantil

  • I am gypsy flamenco us are born with the blood do not learn from anyone and that's because it is ours always if born in Huelva is because it is attributed to a gypsy, a straight face that there is much out there

  • @saetasalvadora

What ? my friend if anything distinguishes gypsies from the rest of the world is that you didnt invented anything, you just have to see that you did not even keep your own lenguage, please go to school and learn something,FLAMENCO ANDALUZ MADE BY SPANIARDS IN ANDALUCIA RETARDED!!

  • there is more gypsys in Rumania and no one sings flamenco or know about it so shut up illiterate lil character

  • @Tonyvareta1 those are not Gypsies at least not considered and the illiterate are you thinking before you speak and miss the people

  • @saetasalvadora

who is no gypsy the ones in rumania?? come on! there more gypsys than nowhere, and please get some knowledge before talking about something you have no idea.

  • Flamenco starts in Huelva and poets start to sing this music with a lil guitar to recite their poems and then it born The Fandango the first "palo" of Flamenco. It wasn't Gypsy people who started amigos!

  • @Tonyvareta1 Cool, my uncle has a ranch/house in Huelva, i didnt know it started there

  • No this music is not only arabic, or only moorish !

Moorish is only an influence in this music. But this music is gypsy, that's it !

Gypsy music with classical guitar style and arabic ud style mixed, european song and traditional arab chant. The root of flamenco is gypsy, Europe and North Africa are only influences.

  • @mrik21 gypsy?? get outta here man, This is andalusian music, otherwise every gypsy around the world sing this music and is not the case, this is Spanish Music singing by a gypsy guy THAT'S IT ENTERAO DE CARTON!

  • @mrik21 Even though i am not a gypsy nor a spaniard, but i have to admit that Flamenco music is actually spaniard andalusian music.Arabs influenced it and so did gypsies, but this type of music does belong to spaniard andalusians. They are the real owners of flamenco music. If Flamenco music was gypsy music, then you would pretty much see all gypsy people in europe doing flamenco music. But they infact dont!.

  • @Arabchick21

ya it's pretty cool to listen to the musical combination of two cultures since spain was so heavily influenced by islam.

i can't get over this fucking song man. all day and all night i randomly hear that intro strumming over and over again and it sounds so wonderful and mysterious!! this is adventurous music!! music for adventures and stories next to the campfire!

  • Spanish Gypsy MUY BUENO

  • I stop or start at 2:37. so much heart. Meaningless to many. So much heart.

  • Great song!

  • If this is Spain, it would be Fascist, right? Jeez, don't know enough about Fascism. That is a good thing!

  • @DameDisco78 fascist? Spain isn't fascist, well it's not been since 1975! It's a constitutional monarchy now!

  • @thekingofmoney2000 The post is in reference to the video and the comment made below about communisim. Right - that is correct, Spain is no longer Fascist, se sabe! Can you enlighten us about the meaning of the video as it is quite gripping and intriguing? Thank you, guapo/guapa!

  • @thekingofmoney2000 tell that to the basques and the minorities who live there, i live here and its the most fascist place i ever lived in!

  • I see no problem in discussing the roots of the music.; it expands, if anything, the understanding of the style and tradition.

  • @GD95014 It certainly makes sense to be curious about a cultural performance, such as this concert.

  • beauty has no culture or language or race . beauty is just beauty and when u try to force it in ur shape u may break it with ur stupidity

  • Im spanish and really proud of it so... fuck you all and VIVA ESPAÑA!!!!!

  • god that looks like an extremely depressing communist concrete jungle

  • Simply Beautiful.

  • the girl's raspy voice gets annoying......its an alright song

  • flamenco from the moorish one of islamic tribe heritage in spain (andalucia).. arab islamic play the 'ud (arab guitar) then they came to spain (ottoman empire) then the 'ud turn to guitar..

listen to old arab songs...then listen to flamenco...

  • Caita?

  • que grande!

  • OLEEEEEEEE....!!!!

  • Its not even the arabic culture and I don't think their even called moorish(mixture of Berber and arab) culture, its the gypsy culture and I think they considered themselves Spanish Gypsies....thats why the video is called "Spanish GYPSY flamenco song" not "Spanish Moorish or arabic flamenco song"....the arabic culture is different from the gypsy culture and depends which gypsy culture in what country your refering to cause their all over Europe n other countries and their all different

  • @cvnbvx Moroccan Amazigh who ruled spain not arabs

  • @vampiwo

Did you go to school amigo!! Morroco has nothing to do with Flamenco or Spain! The Arabs that ruled Spain in the past were Arabs that came from Arabia and all the countries that they have in that years, not marroquies amigo mio!

  • @Tonyvareta1 Haha, Wikiped Tariq ibn Ziyad, & u should feed urself with some history hermano de otra madre .

  • @vampiwo look that guy was berebere and that is not the morrocan people that we know today.

  • brick laying + flamenco... very interesting ;}

  • ¿alguien sabe en qué ciudad esto es? Algún parte de Andalucía supongo?

  • One more thing to the idiot that wrote "SPANIARDS ARE RACIST"

When and where did you live in Spain to make this comment? Or are you being a plain azz?

It tickles me how non-spaniards seem to know the history because of a book or history class. PLEASE stop, enjoy the music, listen with your soul and you might understand. Y a mis hermanos/as espanoles, OLE!!!! QUE BELLA CANCION.

  • have you listened to Ladino music which is in the Judeo Castiliano language which predates united Spain

  • Great strong voice! I especially love the guitar playing at the beginning =)

  • The chick with the black hair looks like Ralph Machio from the Karate Kid.

  • Im mexican and Im proud of it and Im proud of my spanish heritage as well

  • @8888Eastman I don't know what that means "i'm mexican" i thought mexico was a country, like the united states or canada. not a race of people.

  • is this a movie ?

  • @dorthy758 yes

  • @EmpoweredByKnowledge ohh cool i want to watch it :)

  • Thank you for your passion, your fire of life, your dignity, your grace...thank you to the Gypsy of old and new...you sing in the soul of us all!!!!

  • the kid is El Gitanillo, great gipsy voice, & La Caita, pure gipsy music

  • this is insanely tragic and moving the soul to places of unimaginable sorrow and yet to strength and future and hope. amaizing!

  • flamenco is pure gypsy only very little influences from other cultures, the spanish kale gypsies were very strict and did not allow spanish culture to inflence their art, exept the dressing and the language. And during the inquistiton, the arabs in spain joined hands with the gypsies which were persecuted then, but arabic culture only inflenced the guitar style, if u listen to arabic oud style of playing it is very similar to flamenco.. And for the dance it is similar to Kathak, hence pure gypsy

  • It is pure beauty and in that lies the answer to all your questions!!

  • lol ya that's true but i like Italian they talk so less and reasonable...

  • Ouch, the guitarist's fingers must hurt! :(

  • yes it is..arab and jew also....let's not forget..and the history of the inquisition....

not a good part..but it's part of why the origins are the way they are....

  • Beautiful...I lived in Malaga every 4 months of the year and until the age of 15. I had the best memories of living there.

  • @oeuvrededieu ;)) Thank you very much ;)

  • heya what for location is this in the first scene, with the white buildings???? where is it??? if someone knows the exact name of the location, i would be pleased to get a mail

  • ahhahahahahahahhahahahahahaha :P

  • Damn people just enjoy the song and stop arguing about the roots ext. it's stupid WHY?! because we are all mixed THE END!

  • @UnHollyMary666 Love it we are all people all bleed red...

  • @UnHollyMary666 Agree no one can be 100% of pure race. In Iceland some people have genes of naitive americans, some native women were taken by vikings and brough back to iceland, although there was obviously too few natives too dramatically change the racial makeup of iceland.

  • Even though the language is Spanish, the music is decidedly South/West Asiatic.

  • theyre straight out of punjab in india

  • Viva Espania,.. viva Croatia !!

  • To je zivot. This is life. I love you guys,

  • Andalusia look like southern Italy... Eviva espana !!!

  • Comment removed

  • @walladadera Would you please tell me in what book did you read that? I would like to read it. Thank you

  • @DARIUSH58 700 years is enough to change the whole race, and the Arabs ruled Spain or the south all the guidance of the period to make sure I believe in logic, if logic

  • @walladadera Philippines was ruled by Spain for 600 years but Filipinos do not look Spanish or even speak the language. India was ruled by British for 200 years ,Indians are still Indians. Persia ruled India for 400 years but they are nothing like Persians. and many others so I do not see the logic apply that way.
