  • This is why they shouldn't overload them, regardless of the fastening bolts.

  • This looks like 'parametric roll', something that happens when waves come from the side of the bow with a frequency that excites the roll. Great video.

  • @teralaser Wow, what can you do about that? How does the captain get his ship out of that?

  • @JetMechMA You can get out of parametric roll by changing the course (or sometimes the speed) a bit.

  • @teralaser Is this somewhat normal or is this cause for alarm? ...or is it routine and easily dealt with. Interesting, we've all been on airplanes in turbulence, some of it severe, but unless it's here on Youtube we never see what happens on ships at sea.

  • Big ship bigger seas.

  • Da, iar colegul tau a fost foarte norocos ca nu a prins bulau a.i. sa ia astfel de benzi. Daca-i capitan, stie ca asta tine de constructie si mai ales de cum e incarcata nava.

  • @glennprettiggestoord clinometer said 31 degrees.

  • @MinosPLS : that is very much, and dangerous, over 35 is very critical.

  • @glennprettiggestoord

Yes, but the ship didn`t roll like this for very long time; just 10-15 minutes after a course change.
