nice, i have tiger barbs too. CO2 is not necessary for a planted tank (i added better substrate and more light), check my one year later video update.
I have flourite mixed in under the blue gravel. I wanted to switch out the gravel but was afraid to wipe out the settled bacteria so yeah. Blue gravel and brown specs of flourite isnt too appealing but o well
@djneil12 flourite is over rated. I like your blue gravel. Keep it. Just use quality root tabs. Your lights are good. Maybe use a liquid fert and use co2 and your golden.
5 Nice tank. I have simmilar 36 gallon tank with CO2 from fermintation. Can you please tell me how much watts does your lighting produce? Ive been looking into Coralife T-5 Aqualight that has 2 lights that give off 18 watts each.
Sorry late reply. I have two 36'' T5's. I think they are 39 watts each im not too sure. Not really satisfying the 3 wpg but i don't really have any demanding plants anyway
So pretty!

That is a SWEET aquarium. How old are those Tigers? That log adds a nice touch!

I wish my live plants would do that well. Maybe I need to get a CO2 system.

Does your c02 affect the fish any? In my tank it lowered my pH from 7.5 to 6 and I think it killed one of my fish.
great tank
PSNjizzcake 2 years ago
Yes, 30 ppm or more will kill your fish.
but in your case it might be the tremendous PH drop. make sure you keep your "KH" level above 80 ppm to prevent PH crashes.
i use baking soda to adjust the ph and its variable range.
**if you choose to use baking soda then watch your "GH" level.

Nice aquarium and nice choice of music. Nobuo Uematsu is a master composer and one of my favorites.
