Wow Denise you have a very nice natural set of videos. In my basement I have a concrete floor and a big window. I was wondering what if I setup the lens to warm up the floor rotating around maybe some thermometers to shut it down if things got to hot.... would that work or should I up the insurance on my house before I try it?

Then it hit me, GUILT! You two burned down your neighbors house with that damn Fresnel lens! Didn't you? Admit it!!!

Would it be possible to use a mirror to reflect the light back upwards to heat the base of the black pan rather than the top, with maybe a black metal tripod with a hole in the centre to support the pan?
@leakbusters I like that idea as well, but you'd be adjusting 2 things to keep the heat centered, unless what you are cooking is fast. As the sun changes position, you have to change the angle of the mirror to make up for the angle change of the sun. Also with a risk of blinding yourself if you forget to move away when removing the pan and the reflected light goes up at your face.
Maybe a way to actually heat a remote element that transfers the heat under the pan?
@leakbusters On second thought, the Fresnel lens should straighten out the angle of the light hitting the mirror, but you'd still have the unsafe risk of possibly blinding your cook or any bystanders.

@Roccpar The XHA1 is from her Right (ex walking shot) the 7D is her LEFT including the spy shot simulation (800mm mirror reflex f8)=$199 lens. The HD on both is amazing. 7D much better image low light. XHA1 better camera features x 100. If you need good zooms and dont mind a tape XHA1 excellent. If canon would shove the 7D sensor in a 3ccd version, record to Flash vs mini DV and interch lens. They would have a winner. 7D true slr video through the rear finder only, heavy cam, no servo zoom.
@GREENPOWERSCIENCE "Shove the sensor in an XHA1 Body" 7D hard to shot as a video camera handheld long shots, shoulders get tired. All the extra gizmos, for 7D video, servo zoom, fake camcorderstyled body, viewfinder/external monitor= a bit much IMHO.

The HD on both is amazing. 7D much better image low light. XHA1 better camera features x 100. If you need good zooms and dont mind a tape XHA1 excellent. If canon would shove the 7D sensor in a 3ccd version, record to Flash vs mini DV and interch lens. They would have a winner. 7D true slr video through the rear finder only, heavy cam, no servo zoom.

@GREENPOWERSCIENCE "Shove the sensor in an XHA1 Body" 7D hard to shot as a video camera handheld long shots, shoulders get tired. All the extra gizmos, for 7D video, servo zoom, fake camcorderstyled body, viewfinder/external monitor= a bit much IMHO.

I keep looking in my subscription page of youtube and this video keeps being front and center. I am concerned about what my family will think if they saw that this video was in my subscription box. Could you please remove the video or ad tons of videos at once to move it down the screen? I don't want to have to unsubscribe just because of one video.
