  • Full inclusion serves to confirm that simply hissing or growling on a treetop won't make you a mountain lion!

  • Heidelberg Catechism Question 87. Can those who do not turn to God from their ungrateful impenitent life be saved? Answer. Certainly not! surely you know that the unjust will never come into possession of the kingdom of God. Make no mistake: no fornicator or idolater, none who are guility either of adultery or of homosexual perversion, no thieves of grabbers or drunkards or slanderers or swindlers, will possess the kingdom of God. You cant truthfully serve as an ordained homosexual.

  • I would like to see more videos about the future of the Church after Amendment 10-A

  • The whole Scripture says NO for homosexual relationships! Therefore the church must say NO too!

  • Yay for sin! So what's next on the agenda?

  • I would also like folks to review action items 10-1 and 10-2 and see how theey fit into the big picture. If 10-1 passes, then everything Mr. Parsons said about individual congregations still having final say as to who is to be ordained goes out the window. And 10-2 is a confession that basically says that the church can not discriminate against pretty much anyone at all...Criminals as ordained pastors, how about as a youth pastor? Will be an interesting Sunday, this week.

  • The only thing I disagree with: speaking about who the church "family" is, he left out folks who weren't raised in the PCUSA and didn't join as college students; but joined PCUSA as adults. Half my presbyterian church is of the latter. And we love Jesus too! Just sayin'.....

  • The PCUSA has fell into apostasy.

  • @OneFaithMinistries "fallen" into apostasy.

  • @WC3POchannel10A I would kindly like to ask that you stop correcting my slightly bad grammar and let's deal with the issue at hand: The PC(USA) has spit in the face of God.

  • Let the Radical Conservatives hear this: Christians are includers, not excluders. Stop preaching hate and follow Christ's final commandment: LOVE GOD, LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Thank you to the PC(USA) for remembering what truly matters - following God's calling!

  • @briandstone

Some of us "conservatives" are not being exclusive at all. I have no objection ot anyone being a MEMBER of God's church...Judgement of sin is left to the allmighty at the time of our demise. The language removed required that all candidates for ordination observe "fidelity in marriage between man and woman, and chastity in singleness." OK, remove "man and woman" and this is all about homosexuality. Remove FIDELITY IN ANY MARRIAGE and it blatantly defies the 7th commandment.

  • This is a good reason to run from the PCUSA.

  • @AriKinder83

I respectfully disagree. As an openly gay man, who is also a devoted Christian, I believe this is the right choice (10a). I think that in a few decades, this will be yet another situation (like women's rights and racial equality) that we will look back on and say "what were we thinking"?

  • @mattsplace85 An openly gay man perhaps but not a Christian. If we continue to throw the Bible right out the window their wont be a Christian church to look back in a few decades.

  • @AriKinder83

How dare you judge my faith!! You have no right. I am a Christian, and serve on the Property Council of the church that I attend, We need to learn to still have respect for each other, although some may disagree. If you don't like it, go to a different church. In the end, we are all one body of Christ.

  • @mattsplace85

I dare judge it because God judges it. We are not one body with the PCUSA. In order to be one body both would have to be Christian churches, which the PCUSA is not. Best wishes to you.

  • I've never believed that I knew the answer to this issue but I have always believed that Jesus would never turn anyone away.

  • @jdskansas

So true. The arc of the universe bends towards justice.

  • Please stop debating this here. Put your energy and effort toward truly examining candidates for ordination by the power of the Holy Spirit of God. Thank you.

  • @WildlyDramatic

Good scripture, and a telling example of why amendment 10a is so important. I believe it is a step in the right direction.

  • I am one who is weeping. And in heartfelt prayer for the church I grew up in. The Spirit of God is grieved. The hypocrisy and doublemindedness here is breathtaking. By your own standards, you cannot ordain homosexuals. If someone is submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all aspects of life, they will be celibate if single and in God's covenant standards for marriage. You are blatantly rejecting the standards for biblical leadership set down by the apostles. May God have mercy on you.

  • @jasonhackwith

Don't ignore your own hypocrisy. God doesn't discriminate, Jesus doesn't discriminate. They made everyone exactly as they were intended to be: black, white, gay, straight, whatever. And it's good that the church recognizes that, finally. Get out of your outdated mindset; the church is moving on to better things, you should too. Stop preaching hate, it's unbecoming of a "christian."

  • @jasonhackwith

My issues with the previous g6106b are simple:

    1) It usurps power from the local bodies, who are supposed to be the ones dealing with candidacy and ordination

    2) Who are we to argue with God's call? I believe that there are many LGBT persons who have been called by God

    3) We already have severa openly gay clergy in the PC(USA), who are doing a fine job.

    4) I believe that homosexuality is not a sin, and the Bible is less than clear on that.
