I;m from India and I work as a junior math professor at a very well known university and I know why kids in America dont learn calculus. Because they wont let me teach it the way its supposed to be taught.
I learned calc in high school. My teacher would give out 1 problem to the whole class to get started. Each time you finished a problem, the teacher would come to the student and give him/her the next. It was a prestige issue to do as many problems as possible in 40 mins of class.
One reason men make more: We MUST work. Women in America are spoiled and still have a choice in many cases. There is nothing wrong with being a stay-at-home mom, in fact I prefer them to be at least during raising young children, but the fact remains that there are "MRS" degrees. No such thing as a "MR." degree. Inform yourself. These studies are almost always based on yearly earnings. That makes it impossible to determine causation, because loads of different factors go into yearly earnings. It's flawed science. Basic capitalist logic says that men should only hire women if these studies are true.

I did use logic. I used a very scientific argument on why these analyses are meaningless. There is a correlation between earnings and gender. But what does that tell us? One thing, logically: there is a correlation. Not that it is the result of discrimination. Correlation does not prove causation. Watch the video I posted.

Also, women are more inclined to accept the first salary offer they are given by their bosses. Women are also less likely to work overtime hours than men. I;m from India and I work as a junior math professor at a very well known university and I know why kids in America dont learn calculus. Because they wont let me teach it the way its supposed to be taught.
I learned calc in high school. My teacher would give out 1 problem to the whole class to get started. Each time you finished a problem, the teacher would come to the student and give him/her the next. It was a prestige issue to do as many problems as possible in 40 mins of class.

As far as pay, equal job, equal work, equal pay. Someone working longer (either gender) deserves more than the other people working the minimum 40 hours.

I'm cracking up at the statements about having children being a " female's choice. I believe that having children is a " male and female choice." or a choice between "partners." Yet, how many bosses think about not hiring or promoting a married male because he might have a child.How many males can take off time in america for maternity leave ( crap, how many women can? outside federal workers?). We have different standards for male and females that are harmful. Plain and simple.

The reason 2 people with the same job don't make the same money can be 1) more hours worked or 2) more commissions made....so it's pretty clear...WORK HARDER (or smarter), and get more done, you'll get OT, get a raise, and on the boss's good side and you'll get more opportunity. In my experience, women don't make as much because they don't do as much. Sorry but it's the truth. You do 69% of your work while the guy does 100% of his and stays late when he needs to, there you go.

Inform yourself. These studies are almost always based on yearly earnings. That makes it impossible to determine causation, because loads of different factors go into yearly earnings. It's flawed science. Basic capitalist logic says that men should only hire women if these studies are true.

I did use logic. I used a very scientific argument on why these analyses are meaningless. There is a correlation between earnings and gender. But what does that tell us? One thing, logically: there is a correlation. Not that it is the result of discrimination. Correlation does not prove causation. Watch the video I posted.
