I meant the way they pronounce it. They said "dragon-quest-four". Even if "Dragon Quest" is an untranslatable brand name, I'm pretty sure they could've said "four" in Japanese.
Yea It makes me reminds me of my childhood I always playing this adventure on my playstation. Oh I missed this. I played this since I was 9 years old, and my daddy thought this game inappropriate for me because imma girl ;) but it doesn't matter, I'm 16 yrs old now ;)
I despise that alot of the great rpg games only make/made it to handhelds like the DS >< I feel cheated out of my favorite genre and its remakes jsut becuase I can't play a game on a screen the size of a cellphone.
Dragon quest series - various FF remakes, Valkyrie profiles, mother series - amoung others not listed.
There was this game i really loved when i was a child. It was mainly focused about killing Dragons, you start as a guy who comes to his village to find out it's been burnt down or some sort.
I wish this Dragon Quest IV remake came out here in the states. I played the one on the DS and did not like it. Those dialects pretty much ruined the game.
Using Dragon Warrior VII as a example sure there were mistakes and some awkward moments, but at least it was still readable. Maybe it's because I'm older and just don't find the dialects funny or amusing. Plus they got confusing. If I had never played Dragon Warrior IV before, I'd probably get lost in that game heh
Yeah I pretty much know the whole story behind it. That game sounded like it'd be the definitive Dragon Warrior/Quest game heh too bad the States didn't get the PS2 Dragon Quest V remake either.
Japan was notorious for fucking up the Final Fantasy sequel numbers for the US and was asshole enough not to release Dragon Quest 5 and 6 to the US on SNES.
@RebornGin Don't get me wrong, I think Dragon Warrior/Quest is great and I've enjoyed the series far more than Halo. That said - Calling Halo (or really anything) "gay and stupid"? What sort of childish comment is that? Grow up a little.
@RebornGin I love Dragon Quest/Warrior, and I also Love the Halo series. Both franchises are amazing, and have leaved a great heritage to the overall gaming community. As a matter of fact, one can dislike or like, but video games that have that legacy will never be gay or stupid.
The answer would be Pokemon, at least in my household. My kid was born in 2000, and he now enjoys playing Pokemon. And not the newest ones, either - he much prefers the older-style versions of the games on Game Boy Advance and Color. :)
Aw no kidding! The Dragon Quest games are indeed life altering...it was my drive to play Dragon Quest V that motivated me to learn Japanese in the first place! (That was pre-translation patch days...)
I have both ROMs for DQ III Soshite densetsu he (Jap and Eng Patched) and I play the Japanese version more. In fact, I dropped the English Patch, because the translation is somewhat awkward and too literal most of the time.
And yes, DQ is definitely life-altering. I dropped pokémon Silver for a whole year in favor of DWIII for the Gameboy Color. Consider pokémon my most-played games, and a simple DQ game managed to divert my attention elsewhere.
Why do they use English numbers in their names?

For you guys, the game that changed your lives was Dragon Quest.
For us, born in early 90's, it was Pokemon for the GameBoy.
I wonder what it will be for the people born in the 2000's lol
Yea, I have a feeling the Nintendo DS version is going to be super awesome.

The real crazy part is in this remake Saro and Rosa joined the Hero's party...after an extraordinary rough bonus dungeon! (An extra chapter at that)
