it's funny how a lot of blokes (myself included) try to make the best of a "undesirable" situation with our home theatre - in my case bedroom setup. Nice setup BTW.
If you every get enough money you should look at definitive technology for your speakers and try for their ridiculous 12.1 surround system. For a receiver later if you can get a better one, onkyo or yamaha are the two best rated out there.
@KreativeM5 I agree about the uncluttered room. However, I didn't want to give up performance becasue I have such a small room, knowing that eventually I'll move to another house with better conditions to creating a dedicated room. The house in this video doesn't have a basement so I was limited to use the living room.
I'll have a much better room in a couple of years if all goes as planned. :)
@geocab123 does that motorola voom box you have work with cable? I just have free cable with no box and was wondering if you could run the coax through that as a pass through so my receiver could up convert the standard def channels to hd? If so whats the model? Check out some of my Home Theater videos. Thanks
Man thats a sweet theater ! dont your neighbors get mad with such a big bass and the theater not being in a basement or atleast upstairs kind of away from the other houses lol also it would be perfect if the room was just a bit bigger but you cant make this much better especially the dog!! go dog!!!! woop!
@iMaMw2Addicted I'm very fortunate that my neighbor doesn't mind, she actually can hear the bass in her house but we've talked about it. :) I agree, I wish I had a bigger room too. It would be really nice to have a basement so I could just build a room of my own design. :) Thanks for the compliments.
@ervinarts Thanks for the compliment, there's still a couple of things I'd like to change, but for the most part, I'm very happy. For the video, I have an HD camcorder so the source is pretty good. I uploaded this video before I had a program I could use to edit my HD vids so I simply uploaded the file straight from the camera to Youtube uncompressed.
Thanks for the compliment. My neighbor on the side of the house where my screen is can hear the sub in her house, but says she doesn't mind. I still try to be courteous and don't blast things too late in the night. :)
Because all of the lights are on and the front door is open letting in the sunlight. In normal viewing conditions, the picture is fantastic, not washed out at all.
At the time I bought the screen, I had a cheap projector that didn't put out a lot of lumens, so I needed a high gain screen. The Silver Star was kind of expensive. If I were to buy a new screen today, I woudn't need to go too expensive. In fact, since it hangs on the wall, I'd probably just paint a screeen on there. If I had a dedicated room, however, I'd get an accoustically transparent screen and then it'd go back to being expensive. :)
They're called Bass Shakers. You connect them to the subwoofer channel and they vibrate at the frequency being output. They provide a tactile feeling for the sub channel.
Wow you got some nice kit there! I love the idea of the speakers fitted under the couch :)

@MADMANx511 Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, I had to make some sacrifices like not having sunlight in my living room, but it was worth it.
