  • This should be played when the ultimate clash between the oppressed and the oppressors!!!!

  • some of Cut the Crap is not that far removed from Combat Rock or even Sandinista

"over powered by funk", "Car Jamming", "Magnificent Seven"

The thing that sort of doomed it, is the ganged vocals. That was not Joe's idea, that was patched on after the fact by Bernie Rhodes (the malcolm mclaren of the Clash) Joe had already left England and it was released without his approval.

It's not a bad album and most of the songs have a good tune hiding in there somewhere beneath all the football shouts.

  • @stonethrower88 I agree also the use of drum machine instead of live drums.

  • ugh the drumming on this is rotten. bloody drum machines

  • Bernie Rhodes production on this album is just awful. It makes it sound more new wave than it does punk. And the worst thing is, if they didn't use all those keyboards and drum machines, Cut the Crap could have turned out to be a decent album. But it just is what it is I guess.

  • Joe strummer lyrics are still fantastic for this album

  • I'll tell you why he disowned it: it reminded him of the regret he felt over firing Mick from the band. That move was probably one of the biggest mistakes of his life. Joe went through a really tough period in his life during the mid-to-late 80s because he realized that he had broken up the greatest band in the world.

  • LONG LIVE LONDON AND RNR!!!

  • The best song from this album.Clash THE BEST!!!

  • though the album suffers from this production some of the songs and lyrics are great- listen to the lyrics closely- brilliant!

  • This sounds like the producer had too much say on this record. I wouldn't call it punk rock, punk or rock. Most punks (loosely) in 84 hated this record. Sounds more like the Cash and not the Clash. Fucking keyboards. Same shit ruined reggae in the late 70's and early 80's. Producers loved those shitty keyboards because you required less realtime musicians which meant more money for them. They market that shit like coca cola. It's a terrible record and thats alright with me.

  • @NOGOD13 I think you miss the point by a mile, notice Topper Headon (Academy Award for Best Drummer *Ever*) is playing manually what all the drum machines did electronically back then. It's a tongue in cheek poke at the over-synthesized sound of the mid-80's, i.e. a satire of the sound. By this time the Clash were well beyond their early punk years & expressing themselves purely as evolved artists. All that aside learn to play it & you realize no matter the arrangement -it's a great song.

  • @baburjabal NEWSFLASH! TOPPER HEADON DIDN'T PLAY ON THIS ALBUM! JOE STRUMMER DISOWNED THIS ALBUM AS ONE OF HIS WORST WORKS.(DON'T KNOW WHY, I LIKE IT) THE ONLY ORIGINAL CLASH MEMBERS ON THIS RECORD WERE JOE STRUMMER AND PAUL SIMONON, TOPPER WAS NOT ON IT.

  • I don't think Cut the Crap deserves ALL the shit it gets. Like yeah its not even 1/100th as good as London Calling or the Clash but its still a decent album.

  • @raptors11111 ur right. compared to the new music out now, this album is pretty much in line with other punk rock albums.

  • @krmln321 I agree, I'd even say its better than any punk rock stuff today, just not up to Clash standards.

  • Whenever I listen to this song...it reminds me of the USSR so much and how much I wish it was still around <3

  • WONDERFUL SONG!

  • Joe Strummer!

  • did booji boy co-write this with joe?

  • CAZZO!.....MICA SONO I CLASH QUESTI!

  • Sick song
