the commentators are ridiculously off-base. they go on about him jumping into players--"such as in this play"--and then retract. immediately after they talk about him sticking his knee out--but his knee doesn't budge. if you WATCH THE KNEE it doesn't move it stays on course. his stake doesn't leave the ice as if "sticking it out" if you want to see knee to knee-- research it. don't just make dumb ass comments

He's not caught up being an ovechkin fan, you're caught up being an ovechkin hater. He doesn't extend his leg out to go for the hit, he's already having a somewhat of a wide stance as he's striding towards Gonchar and you can see Ovechkin's arm going for the body, he aimed for a high hit, not leg hit.

@ainsymach1 stupid person... he has been suspended for not so bad hits, gtwright is right the commentators are biased. just watch the fucking knee and you can see that he clearly doesn't stick it out. he does deserve a penalty because of the way the hit turned out, but it was in no way dirty
