i disagree with this video, zionism is basically the will of the jewish people to be independet. just like any other nation deserves.
it is true however, that theodor herzel (who is considered to be "the founder of zionism") saw zionism as the solution to antisemitism (or judophobia as he called it).
but herzel was not the first jew to establish a nationalist movement.

Judaism for most of its life has been a prosletyzing religion so a "Jewish" people has never existed and was invented in the 19th century. Before Italy was created in 1871 the Italian people did not exist before Zionism was created about the same time the "Jewish" people did not exist. Jewish people who lived in different countries had little or nothing in common with each other. In fact all nation states and nationalities are artificial creations.

It is only an accident of history Judaism is not the largest religion in the world. Emperor Constantine could have decided to make Judaism not Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. Mohammed could have decided to convert to Judaism or convert to Christianity instead of creating a new religion. As it was Christianity was made the official religion of the empire and prosletyzing Judaism was banned so the numbers did not increase but decrease.

by definition, if a person is being born to a jewish parent (used to be the father, and was changed to the mother), he is jewish, even if he converts to another religion. so yes, DNA can prove one is a jew.
the genetic studies prove that its not impossible, like i told you,all jews, all around the world share a similar DNA. it is not the definition of antisemitism, and as long as i dont think this "jewish DNA" is different than other human DNA, im fine.

@petersz98 no, jews do not come from different tribes, although people can convert to judaism, it is not encouraged. and we can see that genetically speaking, the number of people who converted is minor. less than 8% of all jews are decadents of converts, and even they blended with original jews so it would be a shame to say that because of the grand-grand-grand father who converted, they are not jewish.

heck, "modern hebrew" is more similar to "ancient hebrew" than "modern english" is similar to the english shakespeare used. i can read a 3000 years old texts better than you can read a <500 years old text without studying or using a dictionary.
