  • You might just be better off buying a case that will hold that mother board. Most come with free fans now. Xoxide....com is a good place to get one.

  • @ARBuilder1776 Thanks! It's my wife's home business computer and she needed something small and compact because of her limited desk space.. I didn't want to spend extra money if I didn't have to so a simple fan mod was good enough and it definitely keeps it cooler now.

  • you sound like uxwbill lool

  • nice vid and nice fan placement as well

  • @gunshotbill Thank you very much.

  • thanks bro u helped me out by the wireing

  • @dh123ize Glad I could help.

  • Or you can switch the fan in the front around which works too...

  • You Can try, Disconnecting the blue wire going to the main fan

  • @Knuckles1111111111 There was no 'main fan' on this.. Only the power supply fan (hence the reason I did the fan mod..)

  • @rvr2 The Cpu Fan (I have a optiplex gx620 sff)

  • @Knuckles1111111111 Mine does not have a CPU fan - Just a heat-sync..

  • If i took my computer apart it shall not work no more.

  • On mine to help keep it cool, I just have the 3 1/2 drive cover off, for the price of this system I am happy with it, I paid less than 200 bucks over 3 years ago on amazon, I am now in the procces of buyin 8 gigs of ram to max it out and replace the old, since it is so cheap, then A solid state drive

  • Nice work! But what if we wanna install another graphics card?

I have removed my Floppy disk cover and soon i will install a big 14 CM Fan on top of it. I have found an power source. I have made a extra USB Port inside the computer so i can put the cable in.

  • @IntraxProductions Thanks! Yeah that's the drawback.. You lose the ability to install a video card with this fan mod..

Nice! Your fan mod should suffice.

  • @rvr2 When its done i will post a video about it :)

  • @IntraxProductions Awesome! Look forward to checking that out!

  • Comment removed

  • @rvr2 Nice Work m8 But to make things neater you could just splice in to the 12v molex from the DVD ROM , then you wouldn't have that long usb cable out side your case :)

  • @TheTechGuy007 Great Idea! I'll note that for future reference.. Thanks!

  • @rvr2 Thanks :) , No problem always like to help out a fellow moder! :D

  • Isn't there an internal USB header you could use for power?

  • @x64Exploit I looked and could not locate one on that motherboard at all

  • @rvr2 Hmm too bad, I'm purchasing a similar machine and am trying to figure how to implement a cooling solution. I was thinking it might be possible to get a Y Splitter for the Sata power and then a Sata -> Molex adapter - from there on it would be pretty easy as you can daisy chain molex.

  • @x64Exploit Yeah I didn't have one of those adapters available at the time and just did a quick rig via extrnal USB and so far so good. Thanks!

  • @Tayf321 Yes, but in the SFF models like the one shown, you have to use half-height cards.

  • @sizzlin321 You dont have to because just make a hole in your case :)

  • @IntraxProductions That works!

  • @sizzlin321 It does :)

  • how would i remove the fan that it comes with

  • @Sidpardo Um.. Which fan are you referring to?

There's only the CPU fan and a power supply fan.. No case fan at all in mine before the mod..
