Damn...I always thought Dime tuned down a half or whole step, but a 1/4? I realize that many 80's songs can have this tone, but wasn't this done for the sake of speeding? (ie, vinyl) And when considering the 12 note scale...is this even a note?

The song is in Drop C#...Pantera tunes almost everything 1/2 step down (Eb Standard) and this is one of the few songs they used drop tuning for. You can't tune 1/4 step down...that isn't a real note; that's called a microtone.

I cant stand how everyone loves to play this in some type of dropped tuning. It drives me nuts. Theres so many great articles out there of dimebag explaining the tunings. Everyone wants to take any shortcut they can to try and quickly emulate these songs. I dont want to bash this clip.  These guys put out great instructional dvds. However, that being said, I think you should only use these as a base for how to play these songs, then listen closely to the recorded material and master it.
