  • Has anyone/thing been sucked into that?

  • @simdude2u Yes. A woman from UC Davis went past the barriers and got too close. I don't know if she was drunk. But she hung on for 20 min before she finally got sucked in.

  • @aqinthe did she survive?

  • @simdude2u for about 2 seconds.

  • Sounds like a dumb question but how does it work?

  • Wow

  • amazing hole

  • you suck at videotaping man

  • @roloxxx yeah, I know. it wasn't supposed to be a video, just a sound montage - I still can't believe it has gotten this many hits, though!

  • WOW

  • Lake Barryessa

  • That is not the way you spell it numbnuts!

  • thats a very inviting looking hole i dont think id be able to resist jumping in it

  • I loled ahhahaha

  • If I am not mistaken, there is a short book about all the people who have committed or have attempted to commit suicide at these spillways.

  • cool! ive seen many of these at a park will water holes, its amazing

  • people skate in that shit?

  • there is a glory hole at the other end that is horizontal and when the water level is low the skateboarders do their thing.

  • i'm pretty sure they put cement teeth inside to clean the water and what not. i think? unless you're nimble and dodge them, i'm pretty sure you wouldn't survive

  • remember that lady about 10 years ago who killed herself by jumping in?

  • I wouldnt say they would get through just fine, search and rescue found a lady a good few years ago who had jumped in to commit suicide, she didnt make it to the bottom, rather she was caught on one of many concrete teeth that are designed to break up the water....dead of course

  • Oh, this is at Lake Berryessa right? It's called Monticello Dam because they had to completely flood an old town called Monticello when they dammed the river to create the lake. It's still down there.

  • The outlet on the other side of the dam is huge. Yes, a person would get through just fine. However, I doubt they would survive the fall. It's got to be a 200 foot drop then it takes a 90 turn at the bottom to the outlet.

When it's dry skateboards use it as a full pipe. I've seen pics.

Now I've NEVER heard of anyone falling in. Where did you hear that?

  • wouldn't wanna get sucked into that!!

  • completely amazing, nature is wonderful

  • Nature didn't make it >.<

  • rofl, americans

  • actually it is VERY unlikely that you will survive becuase the spew on the other side of the damn is not big enough for a human to fit through, and people have fallen in before.

  • Actually it's huge. I can't give you the site to prove it...Stupid youtube lol

  • that sends shivers down my spine just thinking of that, I guess if you fell down, you'd get a a point where you would just stop because the pipe is getting smaller, then the water behind you would just crush you through, rip you to shreads, YUCK!

  • exactly 7 milles from winters ca

  • yeah i've heard of that, really cool, but if someone were to fall in that vortex they might survive, since the water goes down and then curves on it's way down and spews out on the other side of the dam, when the pipe line is dry skaters and bikers use is as a half pipe or Full pipe since thats what it is.

  • Close enough to Napa, since Lake Berryessa finds itself in Napa County.

  • this isn't in Napa, this is outside of Winters, CA, also near Vacaville, CA

  • scary weird

  • thats lake berryessa its meant to habve that stupid

  • is this the glory hole at the bottom of lake berryessa, napa california?

  • Right on the geography!

  • any chance of a higher quality record? :)

  • this is something

  • Well, it is a 3 dimensional vortex, in that it holds matter being forced by gravity into aan opening that allows the H2o lower into the valley, below. But this is found on Earth, made by man.

  • @astrovine Wow! big words........Um? just wondering if you fall into it,where would you go and what would happen???

  • is this just water? or are we seeing water poring into a worm hole ( vortex ) somthing not of this planet?

  • Just having fun with Gloryholes and websites. I took a picture of this Gloryhole along time ago and I posted it here, http://flickr.com/photos/astrovinni/3002669/ , where it generated all kinds of comments, so I decided to record the water spilling down into a void.
