  • RIP Mitch Halpern... sad shit.

  • IM GONNA BE THE BEST

  • hopkins wasn't a KO artist, but he's the only guy to knock out trinidad and the only one to put de la hoya down for 10.

  • @Robstailey i applaud BH for ALL his skills and longevity even though his career defining fights were little guys coming up Tito, DLH, Winky, Pavlik. Tarver lost 40 lbs in 2 months to fight BH...i do APPLAUD him...he's a bad boy, but there wasn't really to fight in his division and that's not his fault...i'm amazed that he is 45+ and still whooping these young-boys

  • @jessejay777 It's a shame how some people always bust on B-Hop for his biggest fights being smaller guys, but then those same assholes worship Hagler. His biggest fights were former lightweights and welterweights Hearns, Duran, and Leonard. But he gets endlessly praised while Hopkins gets shit on. Sad.

  • @pearcemark2 i hope you didnt think i was belittling bhop.i just stated the truth as i see it.bhop division was very lack-luster in the 90s+.it wasnt his fault but all his big fights were against little and weight drain boxers.take a green JT and either fights look liked a draw to me but he had ALOT of trouble with a green boxer.like i said i admire his work ethics, tenacity, and longevity but he never impressed AND neither did hagler.hope you wasnt calling me an ***hole...anyway: much love

  • Rest in peace Mitch!

  • Hopkins is a dirty Fighter... never seen anyone using his head more then his fist. He should stay where he came from. And now with 46 he sstill thinks he is a match to the worlds best boxers.. lmao .. same as Jones.. they never seen when its over.

  • @MrZevv umm he is still a match. He beat Pascal and won the light heavyweight title, spanked Kelly Pavlik arrguably beat Calzaghe. Until the Dawson fiasco he was top 10 ranked pound for pound, I'd say he is a match. Jones is washed up, no question, but B-Hop is still beating up young bucks.

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow No you cannot, you can't be a racist motherfucker just because of what a fighter does in the ring... fucking racist piece of shit... go fuck yourself.

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow lol dude why are you bringing racist shit to boxing your a fucking bitch color has nothing to do with the ring get out bro you have nothing to prove but your own stupidity

  • guy come out of prison. makes a name for himself in the world. earns great money. becomes an all time great.

is an icon of the game... at the age of 46 when most are well past their prime and have retired my man is still in the game doing his thing.

and you guys complaining about a guy who did all this when he wasnt expected too.

    give hima break.

  • he quit boxing after this fight

  • hey guess what i have 700000 channel views and i dont even have 1 video

  • shitttttt

  • Calzaghe is tremendously overrated. I thought he lost to B=Hop and a Roy or Bernard of even 3 years ago would have walked through Calzaghe. He just waited till they were old and past their prime to beat them by boring DE, then has the nerve to call himself a "legend killer". I hate that guy

  • @BooRikkaaa101 STFU you hater dont know shit fact is Calzaghe beat both your black idols deal with it beeatch

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, beat them after they were old and shot. That is the only way he could have beat them, b/c in their primes Calzaghe was too busy fighting bums in his backyard and scared to fight them. We all know Roy and B-Hop would have killed Joe in their primes, Calzaghe barely got by Bernard when he was in his 40's and Roy is so shot now that no win over him should count, so go gargle on Joe's overrated balls somewhere else douchebag.

  • @BooRikkaaa101 Calzaghe beat the BEST version of Hopkins, and a good version of a Jones who wasnt roiding so shut the hell up jobbyskin and back to the slave farm

  • @2strong2cool dont ever mention or talk about boxing again until you pass away. i will pray for you and i hope you live long and happily, but do not associate yourself with boxing, your comments are derogatory and bare so sense what so ever

  • @wukillah92 a am a boxer

  • @2strong2cool Best in terms of what? sure, he's smarter and has more tricks of his sleeve, but best is subjective depending on the style. The BEST version of hopkins (to compete against Calzaghes style) would have been a the younger, stronger, faster, more aggressive fighter. The Older, smarter, more TECHNICAL fighter that Calzaghe beat, would always lose thanks to low activity and a worse tank.

  • @2strong2cool your a shithead lol

  • that would probably make me want to retire also

  • That may have been true in the case of Jones, but I don't buy it for one second regarding B-Hop. Of course One's gonna look bad when your opponent throws a 1,000+ slaps a fight. Jones had no chin - he says Calzaghe's punches actually hurt him. Hopkins was never hurt save for low blows, and his patient style that he now uses wasn't enough. The version of B-Hop that you see here would have destroyed Calzaghe. He was more aggressive here.

  • Afraid of him? Hopkins wants to fight him again! It was Calzaghe who ducked both he and Carl Froch because HE was the one who was afraid!

  • Joe Calzaghe was an overrated fraud who waited until real boxing legends were way past their primes before he developed enough courage to fight them.

  • Calzaghe won, fair and square.

But why diminish his wins by diminishing his opposition? He beat two legends.

  • You fucking pathetic idiot. Hopkins doesn't drink and both Hopkins and Jones' resume are far more worth than Calzaghe's. You're just a typical backpacker who just started to watch boxing. Piss off. And that's coming from a Dane...So no, Europe or Scandinavia doesn't even like your ass..nor your fighters...besides Eubank

  • The reff hugged him lol

  • Saturday afternoon boxing on a major network....aaaah, the good ole days!

  • What ever happen to lipsey after this fight??

  • I believe he never fought again.

  • thanks

  • i believe he was then ko'd by retirement

  • Saw this fight on ABC. What a shame the networks don't show boxing anymore. Hopkins is my favorite fighter.

  • yes but calzaghe duked glen johnson twice when both in prime!

  • hopkins has to be one of the smartest fighters of all time.

  • definatly the smartest boxer alive today considering the fact he's never been knocked out

  • you are absolutely right brother.

  • i would also put juan manuel marquez up w/ hopkins in terms of the smartest boxers today

  • @dagreatone714 Couldn't agree more with that statement. B-Hop , JMM, and Ricardo Lopez are the smartest boxers I've seen.

  • @frEEturk What about Floyd Mayweather Jr, Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson........

  • I've seen their fights, but not live and they are not of my generation. And Floyd is not in their(Muhammed Ali, Sugar Ray robinson) category, they only fought the best and not guys like Baldomir, Brussels, and past their prime fighters.

  • @frEEturk Mayweather is now fighting Shane Mosley one of the best fighters of this generation...

  • @123jokaa I know, I cant wait , this is the match-up I was really anticipating.

  • You can't deny Mayweather has some of, if not the best defense ever. Nobody has ever perfected that shell style like him.

  • @BooRikkaaa101 True, true, I did forget to mention Mayweather Jr. whose very intelligent in the ring. The only problem is the level of fighters he has fought since moving up from the lightweight.

  • YEah I agree, his welterweight opponents since moving up are pretty disappointing. When Zab Judah is the best WW you've fought then you haven't too many good WW.

  • @BooRikkaaa101 I personally like Toneys shoulder roll a bit better. Mayweather is a better counter puncher off the roll though.

  • @intoccabile Yea Toney is awesome at it too.

  • You could easily put ray leonard there too

  • Reminds me of McLellan knocking out Julian Jackson

  • Calzaghe was a nobody and still is a nobody. He wanted hopkins and jones to fight him in Wales in the weak SUper middleweight division when Calzaghe was a NOBODY. They were pound for pound and had bigger fish to fry. If he wanted to fight them he could have came to the USA years ago, but he come now when they are out of Prime, and Hopkins still in my mind and many other * BEAT HIM *

  • amen, brother

  • That was a lot like Mayweather's combo at lightweght! Terrific right!

  • wow, Hopkins Lipsey was undeated.

Hopkins ended quite a few careers in his time, beating undefeated opponents.

  • honestly, i really wish that calzaghe actually grew a pair and branched out a little to fight hopkins or roy jones when they were in their prime. it really is a shame that calzaghe never actually stepped up to the plate and really tested himself. what good is a 46-0 if most of those fights were against nobodies.

  • right uppercut, right, left, left, right....mean ass combination!!!!!!

  • joe lipsey was 24-0 coming into this fight and they called him a good up in coming fighter he never fought again after this

  • Well anybody can not be exciting when there fighting till there 44 years old. Hopkins 1995-2002 had many exciting fights.

  • I'm really fed up to read those types of comments on Hopkins!! If you don't know a shit about boxing then shut your mouth!!

Hopkins should be an inspiration for every boxing fans. He had every thing a boxer needs to be a champion: good balance, amazing footwork, good jab, power (in both hands), great defense (0 cut, never been knocked out in 55 fights!!!!). This fighter is a MASTER of the sport. Now he's old but definitively deserves all the respect!! FACT

  • I'll repeat that for you.

    NEVER CUT.

Even in his early years when he was an aggressor.

    Gotta love bhop.

  • @giniota And plz watch the docu about him"Beyond the glory - Bernard Hopkins" !!!!!!

  • This Young B-Hop would have done Calzaghe over, i have to admit.

Shame Calzaghe wasted his years fighting nobodies, and only waited to fight the Legends when they were passed it

  • this b-hop would mopped the floor with calzaghe

  • why does every youtube thread degenerate into a discussion on racism. you yanks are fucking obsessed. Great KO, incredible range and accuracy from B-Hop.

  • Bernard was a great fighter in his prime. Better than Roy IMO.

  • Joe lispy was up n coming undefeated fighter, after this fight he neva fought again

  • Watching a tough fighter get ruined with one combination is a fearful thing. This was when B-Hop was the Executioner, before he became Bore-Hop.

  • lol bernards the man joe calz gonna get it.... yo the ref od'd he shouldve stoped it and not let bernard get that last punch off this guy was efing done

  • Kewl. Ring did a thing on Lipsey? What did it say about him?

  • Lipsey never fought again after this. He was a good fighter and a hell of an amateur too.

  • that knockout was off the chain

  • That comment proves that you live up to your nickname.

  • Now thats what you call out on your feet.

    Lets see RJJ do that!

One of my top 10 boxing k.o's fa sure.

  • Well Roy did break a man's rib with a body shot KO! Both fighters are great in my opinion.

  • roy was better in his prime than hopkins, no question

  • Wow, that comment sucks more testicles than your father.

  • I agree and I'm black! Get off the racism shit, please!

  • easily the most retarded comment i've read all day. there are so many things wrong with this, i don't know where to begin.

  • i reckon calzaghe will win but i completely agree with on the fact that this comment is about as smart as a used tampon

  • after dis lipsey never fought again, Bernard reitred him.. n lipsey was 25-0 coming in

  • Damn this nigga whipped my cuzin ass.....Lipseys aint spose to go down like that

  • HOLLER! LOLZ!

  • thats an uppercut

  • B-HOP IS A BEAST! that is GODLIKE POWER! i would pay to see PAVLIK vs HOPKINS....is it meant to be?

  • indeed it was lol!

  • Reminds me of Ray Robinson throwing a knockout punch going backward. Of course Ray threw just one punch but I would say that still the best compliment one could give.

  • Wrong, not the best for sure. Not even close

  • i agree with the best boxer ever defending the belt 20 times enough evidence for the haters ?

  • hes' good bt lets not take the piss by sayng he's the best boxer ever. maybe in middleweights he can crack the top 5, but robinson would have beaten him alive coz he cud pick so quick his massa whip was too slow

  • hopkins is the best boxer ever yeeeee b-hop

  • Definitely true, and Bernard is my favorite fighter. However, he earned some criticism for having promised to knock Taylor out in the rematch. I went down to Vegas expecting a much more aggressive Bernard. However, did show the keener accuracy and kept the fight interesting with pinpoint shots.

  • the ref is waving the fight over while lipsey is up the air on the way to the canvass. brutal.

  • I'll have to go to the videotape, but as I recall that O'Grady's "...has proved that he's got a solid chin" at the beginning of the CLIP refers to Lipsey.

  • Hopkins fought glen johnson in '97 when johnson was undefeated, Hopkins bashed him up!

That was johnson's only ever stoppage loss!

No one on this planet would have beaten a B-HOP Y2K After his first fight with JT, hopkins went to the after show party JT went to hospital! He should've beaten the 20 defense record and then battered tarver, nevermind.Calzaghe needs to beat Kessler and unify his own division like hopkins did!

  • There's still a chance to see Calazaghe and Hopkins... at 175...

  • CAREER ENDER!!!

  • Career ender, and even more-Joe Lipsey walked into that ring with a 25-0 record, 20 KOs.

  • Tarver IS a fraud.

  • tarver is trash

  • Tarver is indeed a fraud and a one hit wonder.

  • Bernard beat Taylor at 40 years age, and if Tarver comes to fight he will get schooled by Executioner as well. Tarver is a fraud.

  • Sadly, he's displaying power he just doesn't have anymore. In Bernard's case, his legs outlasted his pop.

  • You're crazy. I like your videos but you don't seem to have enough respect for b-hop. They say power is the last thing to go. He's a smart economical fighter who holds back for the right moment, but you can't ignore the power he displayed in his recent knockouts. Even in his fight with Tarver 2 classes up he displayed enough power to put Tarver on the run.

  • First of all, I attended Bernard's last two fights live, so I'd say I have plenty of respect for him. As far as the power last-to-go thing, this can be true of some fighters, but it's this is canard boosted heavily by Foreman-Moorer (and Moorer had a pushbutton chin). In Bernard's case, I truly believe he would have iced today's Taylor and Tarver with sheer power ten years ago. For an old man, he moves incredibly well.

  • nice

  • I remember watching this fight (the same day as Tyson-Bruno 2 on 3/16/96, and also in Vegas) and feeling scared for Joe Lipsey after that Hopkins uppercut and brutal follow-up salvo. Lipsey never fought again.

  • That was a great KO for B-Hop. I think out of both fights with Taylor, he won one and lost one. He deserves another fight..

  • out of all the ko's ive seen thats a first i seen guys twitching ,straight out cold trying to get up no legs ... but never somone knocked out on there feet

  • B-Hop
