  • this is no exercise for chest, look at the footprint that Boyer Coe is doing, neutral footprint, if you look well the major focus is for the triceps, who studies biomechanics know what I'm talking about!

  • @scarlatticostaN offence mate, but if you have ever used one of these machines you will most definatly feel it in your chest, believe me! You muscles feel like elastic bands being stretched and relaxed and despite not involving other stabilizing muscles like free weight equivelantts the contstant tension given by the correctly designed cams means they knock the shit out of you more than the traditional exercises. Best thing of all, NO stress on joints!

    I was wrong in my opinion, the glenohumeral joint Boyer is slightly abducted, and a pectoralis major work of this exercise, the movement is safe for the shoulder joint, thanks!

  • What the hell is this. He just does an arbitray number of repetitions and does not train to failure.

  • @iflyboats What most people don't realize is that Jones did not advocate taking every workout to total failure. He would use "maintenance" workouts at times where you would stop sets about 2 reps short of failure. Kinda like active rest. Jones had guys train a body part 2-3 times per week. To go to failure with a body part that often would lead to overtraining unless you were juiced.

    Saw a really interesting bodybuilding documentary which reckoned get in an out within an hour. Go back later if necessary, but within an hour you've used up all available energy for the muscle, pack bags, go home and rest. Just started doing that myself, it's had some surprising results. Keep mixing it up.

    If you eat enough, and train to absolute failure (not concentric....im talking dorian yates blood and guts type training ie eccentric failure) you body has no other choice but to grow. But if your a beginner, its a different story.

  • I would luv to have access to old school Nautilus machines, like duo-squat, 70 degree shoulder, omni-bicep, rotary torso (like a pullover to the side and behind the back with elbows against the pads.) Those machines had unique movements that do not duplicate barbell exercises. Those movements would be great for sports too, because you would be working in multi-plane paths like in real life. Nautilus is now commercial like any other company. BTW HIT works!
