  • kiitos loved it keep makin tha vids ill be learning finish i no time.

  • He is right-å is not in Finnish letter.Just islands åland belongs to Finland-but there are Swedish(special status of this area).Which means this letter is Swedish-they don't use it at all.BTW:I am not Finn

  • Loving the song choice for the beggining of the vid - my favourite singer :') and im learning :D

  • mita vittua

  • How do you practice å when there are no words with it in Finnish? Practice R. Good words for this, myrsky, tärkeä, törkeä, ärjyä, kärry.

  • @TulilaSalome Practice some Swedish words with it. I'm just starting to learn Finnish, but if I'm not mistaken, å is in the Finnish alphabet because of Swedish and other north-germanic loan words.

  • I-KIRJAIN olen ehtiminen aito hämillään model after oppi finnish. Kanisteri kuka tahansa auttaa we eli erottaa we kudos i-kirjain kanisteri sisu jotta jotta kuulla se vedonlyöjä. Did i spell all this right and does it make since?

  • @xena1234100: No sense whatsoever.

  • btw when you say r don't say it like french man : ) just clear r if you undersand what i mean :)

  • What a weird choice of Finnish words to choose :P Half of them are loan words. It's good practise to go through the letters though, so cheers.

  • Hey, Anyone can help me translate this to english "mä en ees tiiä kuka sä oot?? "

  • @2828348

"I dont even know how are you??" :)

  • Nice lesson. Nightwish made it even more awesome, though! :D

  • these videos are very helpful, and the good music makes them even better :p

  • He sounds like italian.. otherwise nice for people to do these videos :D helps me in my job of teaching finnish to my friends. -Native

  • Hello!

I was wondering if you could help me with this... I want to get a tattoo that says:

    am I dreaming?

But i want to try it in different languages... so if you could please translate it for me to finnish i would appreciate it a lot.

    Thanks!

  • am i dreaming in Finnish: "Unelmoinko?"

  • @poo72

    Thank you!

    Some people have recommended

    "uneksinko"

Do you know what´s the difference?

    : )

  • There is not a big difference between "unelmoinko" or "uneksinko".

  • I love how it sounds, I tried to learn german, but i sucked at it, hahaha

the only languages i know are spanish and english, but i would love to learn Finnish.

  • I don't know what all the arguing is about - clearly the best language in the world is Scottish.

So ye can aw away'n take a vittu tae yersel's!

Trying to learn Finnish before i move there.... SUOUMEA ON KAUNIS KIELI!

  • wtf, that doesn't sound Finnish at all

  • If I were going to cuss, I would do it in Finnish. It's such a wonderfully strong and masculine language. I love it!

  • I have looked a couple translators online but cannot find a proper translation of english word, song? How would you say and write the word song in Finnish (Suomi)? Thanks!! <3

  • The Finnish word for song is perkele. Rarely the word laulu is used and laulaja is singer.

Best to stick with perkele. :-D

  • @cloudberry121 hey perkele means dammit just thought u should know that ok. :)

  • @xena1234100

Sorry xena. I was just being a trouble maker. öööööö

  • @cloudberry121 Yea lol! I am having problems with finnish because some words have more than one way to say it in finnish. I dont know what to do. :( Its making me confused.

  • @xena1234100

I agree it's a trial! I struggle with it daily. Best wishes. :-)

  • The Dutch alphabet looks like the Finnish alphabet, and we have much same words. (:

  • i dont understand why there isnt any word with Q or that ''rotselein'' A letter (Ä), is it part of the alphabet but never used in any word? if not, then why include it, im not sure i understand how some letters are not used.

  • in fact we have so different accent...

  • @Dm3yn3r. Nonsense. I think you are talking about Swedish. Sounds like German and should be displaced by German.

  • Swedish is not so uggly it's just little fun;)

But finnish is uggly ,sorry but i think so:/

  • @Dm3yn3r meh thats just what you think, no big deal. but it is considdered one of the most beautiful languages;) lol it would be nice to know in contrast to german ahaha

  • aika hyvin ;D

    pretty well ;D

  • why does it have letters that are not even used?

  • I don't see reason why they should be removed? To be honest, Å is the only useless alphabet in the Finnish language but it's included because all Finns are forced to learn Swedish and all street names + all signs are in Swedish too.

  • Ist it the right order how you pronuce Finnish R or do you have just speech defect?

  • he says r wrong, but he is clearly not a native finn, so it's understandable. :) he says r like they say it in german

in finnish r is pronounced the same way as in hungarian - tongue just behind the upper front teeth

  • yes i know :)

at the moment i try to learn making this sound.

    itz really difficult for me.

  • kyllä se alkaa siitä pian sujua :)

    = you'll get it soon :)

  • @community1100

He is German >< Speaks English like my mum

We have the same 'r' in dutch and in flemish ^^
