I've been to a better internet cafe :), First row Custom made gaming pcs surrounding the wall and 2 rows in the middle for tournaments. One room used for snacks and watching TV. Upstairs there is xbox 360s surrounding the wall and a giant flatscreen tv right in the middle of this wall used for idk :l But it's epic!!!!

@Tsuop It's a long story. It can cost $10000 in Tokyo to rent an apartment. Many people who have jobs can't afford or can't get an apartment. Luckier people stay at capsule hotels for about $650 per month where you get a bed with a coin operated tv in a 4 by 4 foot enclosure, which includes use of a shared shower and cafeteria with vending machines. Many people opt out to stay at these internet cafes which is sort like a place to live for many people in Japan so there is a shower there.

@mrpelon1000 No, lol, that's what the love hotels are there for. In Japan, using internet cafes in this way didn't become a widespread thing until recently- within the past decade, maybe. In these tough times, people are always looking for ways to spend as little as possible on accommodations; and when somebody figured out they could sleep at a net-cafe for even less than the cost of a capsule hotel it caught on and the cafes actually started offering new services to take advantage of the trend.

the rent for a moth of onyl going there for sleeping at night would be 465 dollars. but then again if you have to think were would you wash all your stuff. you cant use the same shirts and pants all days. if you were to stay there all day for a whole moth the rent would be 1395 dollars or so. I would still love to go to japan and now i know of a place to stay at... would you have to pay 30 dollar of 2 persons want to use the same one?

Some Japanese (young ppl) who looking for job in Tokyo & don't have much money to have apartment or hotel,stay there few days or weeks& search jobs.

If they can't find job & don't want to go back home,stay longer.Japanese call them "net cafe nanmin".it's kind a homeless.

In general, there are two types of Internet Cafe's room.

1. chair type "1" at 0:20

2. flat seat type "3" at 0:20 (Is flat seat japanglish?)

I use Internet Cafe in shibuya so many times.

floor type is way more comfortable than chair type because you can stretch yourself.

(maybe the type of room in this video is chair type.)

in Tokyo you'll be asked for your passport or something which identies you.

I recommend MANBOO!. it is the most famous Internet Cafe.
