  • Shame on you for standing up for morality! Shame on you for supporting traditional marriage! Shame on you for exercising your 1st amendment rights! Shame on you for not subsidizing homosexuality! Shame on you for turning the other cheek and ignoring the protesters! Shame on you for not chanting ingenius phrases like "shame on you!"

  • Mormons: the new Nazis.

  • sick

  • @Dyoni1 ... YOUR A LEGEND!!! ...

  • LDS have suppoted gay rights in housing, employment, and visitation rights, the only issue gay activists have is the fact that LDS do not endorse homosexual behavior or same sex marriage, as is their right. Gay activists do not care about tolerance, what they want is endorsement and condoning, which strips away freedom of speech from anyone who does not agree with their ideals about a restiction they do not like. Who is really being intolerent here? Certianly not the LDS church.

  • @Dyoni1 your tolerance comes always after societal changes, and you change for political reasons and expediency. your church is still a fraud and an insult to humanity. if there was any truth to your fairy tale you'd be leading the way in civil rights, instead you are always years behind social progress. you are against gay marriage cause you want to preserve the male patriarchal power structure. i give you r pathetic church about 10 years max

  • @robaquarian Oh please, your being melodramatic. Considering the Churches ACTUAL history, it did 'lead the way' in civil rights, just not the way YOU wanted it. The fact that you can't accept that history and have to make up excuses to pass it off as unimportant or unreal simply shows your own intolerance. And come on "Male partriarchal power structure"? Where did that come from? You obviously don't know much about the church, as the sisters are just as important.

  • Any active member can tell you that in a proper church relationship the men and women are there to support each other, not dominate, the fact that you have to consider things in such extremes, that you have to label the church as a whole an 'insult to humanity' when anyone can see the obvious good it does for the world, only speaks of your own lack of character in regards for giving credit where credit is due.

  • @Dyoni1 Agreed. It all goes back to people making an excuse to attack the church. These people probably talked crap about the church before prop 8 anyway. Homosexuality is a sin against God. What Elder Packer said about it was a combination of freedom of speech and religion.

  • @Dyoni1 Everything you've said here is true.

  • So far all I have seen in this issue is a vast use of hypocism by the gay activists. I say gay activists, not homosexuals, as I have seen that gay activists do not represent the interest of the homosexual population, rather only care about the political agenda rather then understanding and equality. LDS have shown tolerance in an overwhelming assalt from gay activists, who have at every turn tried to initiate actions against the church that has supported their rights...

  • Meanwhile the Sexist claim fails to mention that polygamy occured only after anti-mormons started murdering the LDS men, leaving the women and children without support in a time when society didn't hold them in the same reguard they do today. They fail to mention the strict scrutiny that those who where called for the practice were held under. As usual, the only thing we are shown is a comparison to modern day standards rather then the context of times, which only illistrates the distortion.

  • For instance, the 'racist' claim seems to stem primarily from the so called 'priesthood ban', but the accusers never mention the fact that their were several African American holders of the priesthood and served in high positions of the church long before the 'ban' came into play. So while other people were hanging people, and most other churches enforced seperate congragations, the LDS church no only had a joined one, but had African Americans in LEADERSHIP positions. Yeah, SOOOO racist.

  • i would like to clarify one thing. we didnt change the rule of polygamy cause of the government. we changed it because God commanded it. in the bible, polygamy was practiced when it was necessary and it was stopped when it wasnt needed. When we stopped polygamy our church split. the LDS church that is being protested against now is the side that stopped this practice. before people make judgments they should know what they are talking about.

  • I wish I could have been there. Mormon is such a stupid religion

  • wth is these people problem! LOL shame on you??? for what!??

  • Shame on the LDS people... For funding a cause they believe in. That is so terrible.

  • I'm proud to be a Mormon, and I willingly donate tithing to the church. Seeing such strong persecution against the LDS faith over this issue pretty much confirms the truths that we believe. Can anyone make an argument that the Mormons did anything unlawful? I would love to hear these arguments, because they are hopelessly weak.

Why do you think these people are so angry? Because they lost a fair fight.

  • @masoid3: "Can anyone make an argument that the Mormons did anything unlawful?"

-- Is your only excuse for your immoral meddling in other churches that it was not "unlawful"? Maybe you and your church ought to consider whether you SHOULD do something rather than merely whether you can get away with it.

No one in the last century has told the Mormons how they should worship. Why do they now feel the need to tell MY church and over 250 others which members of our own congregations cannot marry?

  • gay people just want one spouse, not dozens like your Mormon cult. You Mormon wack jobs are a joke to back prop 8 with your history of polygamy.

  • So nothing unlawful so far? I would guess that the majority of these people do things that are just asking for a mob to yell "shame on you" to them, but that's just personal. You still haven't said how anything was done illegally...

  • @masoid3

I was just commenting that it's hilarious that your cult, with its history of polygamy, has the audacity to judge gay marriage..what a joke! Mormons are cult member losers, period.

  • Maybe if you had read the bible, mormons wouldn't seem as devilish as you think.

  • I don't own a bible, but if I did, I would keep it next to the other works of fiction in my collection.

  • theres always your cult illegally donating to prop h8

  • Gee, how about the part where you denied basic civil rights to a minority? That's the real reason why we're angry. But fortunately, you WILL eventually FAIL in your attempts to discriminate. Already, March 2010, polls show that 50% of Californians support gay marriage, wil 42% opposed. You WILL LOSE.

  • Oh, you want someone to point out where it was illegal, not immoral. So I guess it's ok with you because it was legal, altho terribly immoral. And this from an organization that claims to be a church. Shameful.

  • @masoid3 its not unlawful its immoral. your church is based on bigotry, it has a legacy of racism and sexism. your patriarchal beliefs about sexuality have no merit.

your church needs to be exposed for the fraud that it is. LDS only changed its position on polygamy for political reasons or else you'd still be practicing it. polygamy was about control and access to woman, and your gonna say gay marriage is immoral? shame on you and you sick momon church.MOrmonism is a racket

  • @robaquarian Um hello, America in general has a legacy of rasism and sexism. By comparison in the context of times, the LDS church was far more liberal in it's treatment of blacks and women then the general public. I notice so often that when people try to play the 'mormons are racist/sexist' game they neglect any facts about LDS beliefs, any actual history, or any accounts by actual LDS members, merely the buzz words people try to use to vilify without justification.

  • I have a ? for Idaman... how did they Mormon church illegally pump "thousands upon thousands" of dollars into Prop 8?

  • seperation of church and state

they illegally supported prop h8 and should have to pay taxes

  • There are more gay people than Mormons, but they lost their votes. Perhaps we should protest against American citizens rather than mormons. 52% of voters in California are NOT mormons. So.. work it out. Complain to Americans, not Mormons.

  • We'll take this up when I'm back from my Acq' baha pilgrimage in Mecca. (I'll bring you back a goat with a tight anus.)

  • Perhaps we will soon see these homosexual marriage protesters doing these protests in front of Muslim mosques, protesting Islam's policies towards gays and lesbians.... I think the Muslim policy is to execute homosexuals.

  • Comment removed

  • It makes you sick they are doing that to your church???!!!! What about what they are doing to thousands and thousands of committed monogomous couples who want to get married! Seriously...do you not think before you type?!

  • if you dont get it. it doesnt give gay people the right to destroy a religious place. we dont hate gay people. a persons a person no matter what. we just want to keep marrige between a man and a woman. why is that such a crime

  • the fact the mormon church illegally pumped thousands upon thousands of dollars into prop 8

the mormon church should lose its tax exempt status

  • ummm not to rain on your parade but hollywood one of the richest citys donated MILLIONS for prop 8 also and dont respond to this

  • yeah well hollywood doesnt have a tax exempt status

  • im sry but wut on earth is tax exempt status?

  • MOrmons and other religous groups should follow Jesus's examples and His words in the scripture. This is forcing their will on the gays and lesbians when they have no right to do that. It is up to these people what to do with their lives!, this is a waste of time and money donated thru tithes and offerings by people and was used improperly!! Sad thing is, they speak of God, but they dont know God! God said, if you say you love me and you dont love your bro. you see every day, u r a liar!!

  • Interesting thing. The government did not recognize plural marriage when the LDS church performed them. Mormons held private ceremonies and did them anyway and THEY recognized the marriage as valid.

Maybe the Gay community can act the same way. Why do they care if the government or the non gay populace considers it valid or not?

  • I agree!!!

  • God also said, to lay with another man as if one would lie with a women is an ENORMOUS SIN! Some of you were murderers, thiefs' and homosexuals. You need to read the book "in context".. Loving your bro does not mean SEXUALLY..

  • see the bible is just that a book written by man

  • This is where FAITH COMES IN.... Last night I went to sleep with the FAITH the Sun will come up in the morning.. Faith is "things hoped for, but not yet realized.."

  • the gay society was terribly hypocritical here. allow me to clarify first though,

I BELIEVE AND SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE!

the irony is that the gays want "equal rights". the org for the protection of marriage, which is the org that got it put on the balled, which is NOT made up of church, had it put on the balled SO THAT THE PUBLIC COULD ALL HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS!!

the Gay society lost and then went back to ONE church and wasted a day there persecuting and misjudging a people.

  • I voted Yes.

    ME VES Y SUFRES.

  • Ah the No protestors, pulling in an out with the news vans.

  • How immature they are. What the Church did was just encouraging its members to stand up for their beliefs as the right of citizens. Did Mormons send out its missionaries and lead picket protests in front of gay alliance with cruel words?

Those people are just being immature. I don't find any reasonable aspect that I should consider embracing their belief.

  • Why are they protesting the mormon church? I mean so what they gave money...

  • Congrats. Or not.

I have always been a supporter of giving gay/lesbian couples a choice, after all it's not my life. I even talked my justice of the peace parent into doing legal civil unions in NH for any couple (straight/gay). Well, I'm also a Mormon. If the gay community is going to treat my religion like this I don't see why I should be supportive. Just like gay people don't wnat to be generalized, neither should an entire religion. It hurts to see you do that to my temple.

  • HAHA. nope. i have 40 wives! :) hahahahaha. more lovin for me . !

  • Shut up you freakin tape recorders. Rofl

  • I'm straight. I have 2 relatives who are gays. My extended family don't treat them well.

Have those who is anti-gay ever looked in within and find out any of their relatives is gay? Gay is 5% of the population!!!

  • yah i have a gay cousin.

and im okay with that. but i dont think he should be able to marry.

    MARRIAGE= MAN AND WOMAN.

  • Why not? gay people should have a right to marry just like straight people do. Why shouldn't they be able to marry? Why would you want to take someones rights away? people like you ruin other people's lives by not letting them have the right to marry the one they love. Just because its in the fucking bible doesn't mean its true.

  • no they shouldnt.

  • Tell me why...you fucking idiot

  • cuz i said so bitch.

    haha.

you aint nobody so i dont have to give you no damn explanation

  • fyi your no better than I am. Actually your worse. Your just to dumb to come up with something to say. And you don'e even know me so I would shut ur fuckin mouth if i were you

  • whatever stupid girl.

:) and i dont know you and i dont want to know you. your probably a piece of crap for a person anyways. LA LA LA LOSAH.

  • I don't want to know you either. at all. Stop judging me. In the bible it also says not to judge anyone more than it says your not sopposed to be gay so shut up

  • you spelled supposed to wrong.

you must be a little girl.

  • omg you must be a little girl. I'm 22 your probably like 12.

  • yah well your olllld and wrinkly.

    im young and FRSSSSSH.

    thanks very much :)

  • you just want to start arguments don't you? I'm not going to argue over something stupid stay to the topic if you want to argue at all dumbass

  • hahaha the gays are showing there true colors...shame on the gay activists...if they would get there facts straight it wasnt the church...it was members of the church and other churches that donated money towards supporting prop 8.

  • lies by the mormon church

  • bigotry? more like "no more nice gays"....when people vote to strip fellow citizens of legal rights, it isn't about "belief" or "free speech" blah blah blah....it's about payback. every scummy little Constitution stomping religious fanatic will be exposed for the haters they are and hopefully their businesses will suffer. no more anonymous haters, everyone is coming out of the closet!!!! amending discrimination into OUR Constitution IS a hate crime. no violence, though, i don't believe in that.

  • your weird.

and you guys are the big haters.

goin to a church tsk tsk

  • Mormons or ANY group of citizens have the right to spend their money to support their beliefs of marriage between a man and a woman. My Christian God does not authorize any "union" between two people other than ONE MAN and ONE WOMAN. God spoke about Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve. I have no problem with homosexuals uniting--just don't tell us that the "institution of marriage" should ever be altered. If God approved of your assertions, the gospel of YOUR doctrine would be scripture. It isn't.

  • Shame on who?? Those who excercised their democratic right to vote and won TWICE???? There really just aren't enough Mormons to blame this on them, I'm sorry. And had this gone the other way, those who voted yes would obviously be upset, but I doubt they would be protesting and threatening to boycott and forcing good people to resign from their jobs and hide in their homes. What a sad sad reaction to a democratic process. Poor founding fathers.

  • Shame on California for putting discriminatory legislation on the ballot. The Supreme Court will have to step in to protect the constitutional rights of the minority - as they've always had to do.

  • MEDSCIENCEGUY.

    dont be a mad guy.

YES ON 8 PLZ DONT H8

    .

    HAHAHAHAHAH

  • Had NOTHING TO DO WITH DISCRIMINATION!.. It has to do with Courts GONE AMUK!! They have NO right making laws.. Only the People and the Legislature can do that... NOT JUDGES!!If a judge wants to make laws, he should have been a legislature!

  • That's incorrect. The Supreme Court has always had the responsibility of making sure the tenets of the constitution are upheld, that "all men are created equal," that all have equal protection under the law. Be it the rights of woman to vote or the KKK to organize and protest. The supreme court has always had the responsibility of protecting the rights of unpopular minorities from the majority.

  • theres a little thing called checks and balances, just ensuring equality for all

  • Shame on those gay activists!!

  • For what? For getting upset that their basic civil rights were stripped away? Shame on the Mormons (and others!) for imposing their religious beliefs onto others when this is supposed to be a country of religious freedom!

  • Come on, you are being so contradictory!! I think the activists are imposing their beliefs on a majority that clearly states the opposite! And the Mormons are acting on the religious freedom that we all have, just as the activists are acting on their freedom to protest. Remember, it's freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM it!

  • Yes,I agree that activists are trying to impose their beliefs on a majority. Of course, the minority is barely a minority. 48% of CA did want same sex marriage to be legal. In no way does same sex marriage interfere with a Mormons ability to practice their Mormonism.

  • haha shame on you, loser

  • HAHA SHAME ON YOU , LOSER.

  • Is that temple next to your house, I want people to go protest it. Oooh no you're so scary, lol...

  • yah theres a church right here on bolsa and ward.

    garden grove CALIFORNIA.

    come over :)

so I CAN PUT YO ASS TO SHAME!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

  • HAHA yeah march around with your cross like that lil old lady - that will really shame em...LOL

  • HAHA . get your facts straight. i dont go around carryin the cross. i carry the book of mormon.

    LOSER. hahah

  • So do you have 33 wives like Joesph "morality" Smith :) lol

  • And they call us bigots?

  • okay to mr broncojazzfan...juss too let you knoe mormons are dumbasses too these days...dont yall have like a rule or some crap that you cant drink or smoke or doo n e of that...i knoe a whole bunch of mormons that do all that bullshit...

  • mormons make up 2% of the california population. over 50% of ca population voted yes, so how is it all our fault

  • im a mormon..........v

  • Yeah do you live in Utah?

You havent dealt with the worst kind of mormons. They arent all bad... but they are closed minded and let those who are bad control their decisions based on the delusions on a 14 year old.

  • umm hello if i lived in utah i wouldn't be involved in prop 8. i live in southern california where this is happening.

a give me an exapmple of a bad mormon because i want to know

  • Deviants on parade

  • Tolerance in action

  • I believe the saying is "what goes around comes around"

  • u r not right who ever recorded this video I PROMISE U, U WILL REGRET IT

  • You fucks should go back to beating your seven 13-year-old wives in Utah and Arizona, hypocrites.

  • Wrong group Bozo.

  • The Fundamental LDS Church is very different in just about every way. That is like saying Orthodox Jews (the ones who have 16th century clothes) are the same as your typical finance professor.

  • Mor(m)ons are worthy of collective punishment because all Mor(m)ons tithe. To absolve a single Mor(m)on of this crime is equivalent to absolving Hitler's financial backers for not killing a single Jew.

  • That's a new one. Hitler is responsible for the death and displacement of millions of Jews. Mormons are responsible for pissing off the gay community because of a vote. Wow! Glad I'm on the right side.

  • aahhhh the face and colors of the rainbow flag.... diversity! tolerance! acceptance!!

    YEAH RIGHT.

  • I truly hope that the gay people will achieve this fundamental right someday. I realise Mormons in California were just a tiny fraction of the overall population that voted yes on 8 - but it has been reported that the LDS church funded millions and millions of dollars to help galvanize the movement, helping to fund all the fear mongering through incredibly inaccurate commercials and advertising. It is becuase of this, understandably, that the gays are so upset at the LDS church.

  • Ya think?? The LDS church should lose their tax exempt status for being so agressively involved in California politics. This freakazoid cult needs to take themselves and their magic underwear back to Utah and stay the fuck out of California politics!!!

  • You SOB. California was founded by the LDS Church. Who do you think fought the Mexicans for San Diego? Here's a big hint, it wasn't the Catholics.

  • Catholics Appalled at Anti-Mormon Slur

    youtube. com/watch?v=Uv72urCWJcU

  • Gays are bringing more hate towards themselves by vandalising churches and etc.Gays remind me of Filipinos thinking its"cool"to say that they are Pacific Islanders even though they arent.Gays just want to use the word married because they"like"using it.Gays are starting to piss me the fuck off.Why arent gays satisfied with a civil union? Its the same thing as marriage but spelled differently.Fucking dumb asses. Why protest a church, they have a right to believe what they want!CA voters have voted!

  • If civil unions were the EXACT same thing as marriage, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But if it's the same thing why not call it marriage anyway? It's just a word, according to you. & Why aren't Filipinos pacific islanders?

  • Hi fakingfrench, civil unions are not the exact same thing? In what way?And Filipinos are not Pacific Islanders because the definition of a Pacific Islander is people from Polynesia, Melanesia, and Micronesia. Filipinos do not fit any of these.Even though they are in the Pacific Ocean, but Japan is also in the Pacific Ocean. Filipinos are Asian.

  • * Marriage: Over 1,049 federal and state level benefits (see list) * Civil Unions: Over 300 state level benefits. *No federal protection (see benefit example)

  • But anyways please let me know how it is different. Because if it is, then I'd think it would be wrong. To you it might be just a word but to others, marriage is a very sacred thing.

  • My girlfriend is Filipino and she identifies as Pacific Islander and Asian. I know many other filipino people that identify the same way. It's funny because she believes the opposite...that Polynesians, etc. and Filipinos have pretty much the same lineage and are practically Filipino. But I'm not sure about that since I'm latina.

  • Stupid people the mormon church doesn't make up 52% of the population in California..... These protests just reaffirm that you people are a-holes.

  • thanks natgaint. Great point!

  • America is great for it's democracy. 'unconstitutional' is not the passing of a proposition, but the overturning of the will of the people. Why vote if it doesn't count or matter. Shall the Republican base protest the election? Shall we tear up the constitution and start all over? And as for the L.D.S church, is the gay community looking for a SCAPEGOAT

  • Why don't you go and protest at a majority African-American neighborhood since 70% of them voted for Prop 8??

  • huh?

  • No blythe, I spelled polygamy correctly, but I do have othere spelling errors in my post...sorry, just typing in the heat of the moment. Oh, and I know mormons didn't invent polygamy, they just practiced it!

  • practiced meaning past tense right? stop grouping all us LDS members together. I know I don't group all homosexuals together. When prop 8 was brought around in UT 4 yrs ago I voted no on it, cuz I believe everyone should be happy no matter if you're in love with the opposite sex or same sex. and why are you dissing us when our church isn't the only one who made donations?

  • 1CAteacher....you're a teacher and don't even know how to spell polygamist...yikes! Oh by the way,Mormons didn't invent polygamy,it is recorded throughout the bible!

  • Yes, the hypocrisy...mormons say they believe in peace and love everyone, yet you create and vote on a proposition that discriminates on a group of people. I can't beleive how short the memories are of mormons! You were persecuted for your beleifs and practice of polygamy! That's why you moved out west! And yet, now you become judge and jury for the gay community and decide they can;t love who they want to! That, my dear, is hypocrisy at its purest!

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm, hary Buttzechs

  • Shame on us for having freedom of speach... The church didn't eve put forth money towards the campaign.. it was the members. The church does not hate Gay people.. we love everyone.. We just want to protect the sanctity of Marriage. It wasn't only the mormons who voted only 2% of California is mormon.... So why are you not going after the jews or catholics... because mormons can handle it. We have strong testimonies and do what we feel to be right.

  • ....yes,I agree "SHAME ON YOU" for filthy sexual acts.Does God hate you? No and neither do we...we only hate nasty, immoral behavior...repent and come join us!

  • ....commiting crimes against nature with perverse sexual practices and spreading S.T.D.'s and AIDS throughout society,is not a fundamental right.

  • You can get an STD too, you know! Make sure you wear a condom when you practice your poygamist ways!

  • what a silly group of people.

  • The mormons are the silly group of people!

  • You are all idiots; the LDS church joined a coalition of churches in California, why arent you protesting them as well?

  • Because Idiot, the mormon church more than any other pushed its motion to defeat the rights of others to live their lives as they see fit. And if you have ever checked the gays or no longer friendly to just about every christian church, for good reason.

  • These angry gays are barking up the wrong tree. Really sad they have bave been voted against twice. No live with it or go to MA

  • How does this affect the legality of those marriages in the interim?

  • As of right now, the attorney general says the marriages done before Prop 8 went into affect will be valid. But you never now...

  • Do you know what the status is currently? Is there a recount in process?

  • prop 8 is the law. Whether you like it or not - Newsom.

  • This is a Temple not Church.

The Mormon church did nothing wrong, but ask it's members to vote and support Prop8 to protect their beliefs. You did the same.

    So why all the hate?

  • The Mormon Church Of Utah donated 70% to the Yes On Prop 8 Measure. Yes on Prop 8 ELIMINATES right from a whole group of people. If that's hate, then I don't know what is.

  • Then you don't know what is. The CHURCH did no such thing. The CHURCH did not donate money, it's MEMBERS did...individuals, like you. Voting for what they believed. Voting to keep marriage, not have it's meaning changed.

It's not hate, it's a disagreement about rights. The only hate I've seen is the death threats the Mormons have received and some of the more vile protesters signs.

  • I cannot take responsibility for the other sign makers. But I assure you my sign did contain threatening messages to the Mormons.

  • DID NOT***

  • I'm glad you did not. I don't have any hateful or hard feelings towards you, gays, or those who did make the threats.

I simply disagree, with what the term marriage means and having it's meaning changed.

  • Well, I DO have hard feelings toward you. You interfered in my life. This is a Constitutional Republic, not a theocracy. Your religious beliefs have no business in my life.

We're angry at the LDS Church because they lobbied people to remove a fundamental right from us. The ads that were produced with the money raise told outright lies and distortions. You don't like being hated? Then don't do hateful things!

  • oh the hypocrisy. The only 'hating' going on is the death threats the Mormons are getting, the hate signs, threats of burning our buildings.

We didn't hate. We voted for what we believed in. It's not us, who asked for this prop 8, but when faced with it, had to vote for our beliefs, just like YOU did.

No one was robbed, judges had no right to do what they did, they caused the problem.

    What lies were told?

I am sorry you and others feel hurt.

  • Judges had EVERY right to do what they did! That's what they're there for! And, chickie, I've received just as many death threats as you.

  • Wrong, they would not have had their wrists slapped if they hadn't done anything wrong. You would not have had to face Prop 8, if wasn't for them, disregarding Prop 22.

    They screwed you.

oh and I'm not a 'chickie', name calling is pathetic.

Sorry you have had death threats.

  • What? You choose a screen name, it use a derivation of it and you say it's name-calling? Who's being thin-skinned now?

And just what do you think a Supreme Court is for? Judging pie-eating contest? It's their job to make sure laws adhere to the principles of the Constitution of the State of California, and that is PRECISELY what they did.

  • lol, I did not make the connection between the name and my screen name. I'd been up all night, so sorry for the mistake.

The Supreme Count over stepped it's mark on this one and were told off for it.

  • What do you think a Supreme Court is For??? It's job is to look at the constitution of it's state and reconcile laws and legislation to the found document of each state, it's individual constitution. California's Supreme Court found that Prop. 22 was flawed and struck it down. Now, a slim majority has amended said constitution. If this nasty bit of hatred is left intact we'll start the whole process over again and put our repeal of Prop. 8 on the ballot.

  • Since it'll be an off-election year, you won't be able to rely on a heavy turn-out of African-Americans to bolster your vote and 8 will be repealed.

  • Since it'll be an off-election year, you won't be able to rely on a heavy turn-out of African-Americans to bolster your vote and 8 will be repealed.

  • Sorry for the double-posting.

  • I think you are right and I believe you will win...when you do, I won't be screaming that you hate me, for my beliefs, or protesting, or calling anyone names. I stand by my vote, you by yours. It is not about hate, that is simplifying something complicated. Makes it sound good though, doesn't it. Good guy, bad guy..rather than two different valid views.

  • FINALLY A GOOD OPINION THAT DOESNT DOWN ANY ONE SIDE OF THE VOTE!! Gays we're outvoted 2 times already, you should be mad at Californians instead of jus singling out the mormons, which only makes up 2% of Cali, Remember NOT ALL mormons VOTED YES!!

  • almost slipped there huh

  • Mormons make up less than 2 percent of the population of California, african americans make up 6.7 percent of the population and they overwelmingly voted against prop 8. Why not protest against african americans?

  • crap, I mean they overwelmingly voted for it

  • good point!

  • If you would have won, the yes on 8 supporters wouldnt have started a march.

Why fight so hard to be different just to want the same thing. No matter how much I love my gay friends and gay relatives I will never look at gay marriage as equal!

Love isnt giving them the right to marry. it's taking my rights and belief away from what I love.

Yes on 8- We WON - and that makes you hate me!

  • Why would they start a march? They didn't have a civil right TAKEN away from them. If you don't believe in gay marriage, then don't get one!
