David gilmour, is one of the true gems that made pink floyd, what it was and still is today. A band, with a great sense of style and ability! I hope to enjoy his music for many years to come.

It's been a little while now, but I'm still sad for David about Richard's passing. I mean, how do you say goodbye to a friend like that, that you've been playing music with for over 40 years? I am no fan of Jools as an interviewer, in fact I think he's a terrible interviewer, but clearly he was showing the clip in response to already knowing Dave was going to mention Rick's "glue" effect on early Floyd, "with Syd" as he says before they play the clip- with the Farfisa Organ that Rick stopped playing after Dave joined the band.

@vampiroangelico . My point of view is that when Dave joined PF a different band was created, not only in means of music but also because it took a different direction. I believe Roger was responsible for that, though couldn't have done it without Dave. Bottom line, I don't believe it was rather rude but a bit absurd, perhaps.

@kristofor12345 at first their sound was very different because syd barrett basically lead the entire band but then he went crazy from taking too many drugs so they essentially "replaced" him with dave. i dont think they ever sucked but different strokes for different folks i guess? (lol i cant believe i just said that..)

What was incredible was when a musician in Venice that played classical music with cups ,met him but he did not know who Gilmour was . And gilmour invited him to play cups in his show . @floydian5 I was in a pub in Fulham once in 1989 watching a band of old-timers. Not many people there... but there he was! Dave Gilmour holding a pint watching the band. I asked him if he was, indeed, Dave Gilmour. He said yes. I asked him why he was there. He told me one of the guitarists in the old-timer band was a former member of Fleetwood Mac. I told him I thought he was better than Eric Clapton. He told me that I should remember that Clapton had been through a lot. At that point I shut up.
