Quite simply the funniest duo in the history of comedy. Love to see these classics and don't care whether they are colorized or not. Thank you for sharing
Not sure if this is a continuity error or not, but I found it interesting (just noticed it after years of watching this short film) that, when the boys first found the wallet, Ollie has it. Then, after the boys literally run into the cop, Stan has it all of the sudden. Of course, this could very well just have been part of the gag, and the joke would be on me if that is the case. :-) Stan and Ollie were BRILLIANT, so this certainly wouldn't surprise me. I just thought this was interesting. :-)
Love the colorization. Looks fantastic. If you don't like it, simply adjust your monitor to B/W. Just because one or two people do not care for the color do not have to ruin it for the rest of us. It is nice to have a choice.
Picture it… If colour was used back in the days when these skits were filmed, then people at the time would be impressed with the new technology and want to use it. But our day an age we are so used to B&W skits from the old days it adds to the atmosphere that makes them special to us in this day and age. If these skits were always in colour, then I'm sure none of you would still be wishing that they were filmed in B&W. Get over it.
Glorious stuff - sure I prefer it in black and white but hey, these are the greatest ever. Thankyou very much for uploading this. Ollie's face as the snowball hits him...priceless.. And god bless Charlie Hall; best nemesis ever except for the mighty Jimmy Finlayson.
It has to be changed in some way in order to post it you moron. I. E. a stupid music track running in the background, or subtitled , or the other option; ...... post a clip that's been, colourised !!! If you try to post and original, the copyright police pull the plug on the video. It's the closest youll get to the original......How Ironic!
The opening gag is a variation of one that Stan did in his 1923 solo silent film, "Kill Or Cure" [he tries pitching his "wonder cleaner" to a man standing in front of a sign that also says....]
Why does it worry people that it has been colorised? Are they there to see the film, or is it more important to them to comment about the colour? The original is totally unaffected, they are still there, you can make the choice, or perhaps you do not want to allow choice? On these"leave it alone" principles we should let these films rot away, then they are gone forever. At least digitalisation saves the image, both in colour and B/W
Fortunately nobody forces watching films, it is a choice....
@swallin19 for a simply reason adding colour to black and white timeless classics is like drawings a beard on the mona lisa in other words dont mess with perfection
the only reason colourising can be good is there are people out there that wouldnt have botherd to watch this if it wasnt colour because of there pure ignorance towards things that are old. imo it being in black and white with the orginal crackles of the film allow you to give it the proper respect ir deserves
@SirGinger18000 before anyone trys to say the younger generation dont respect old comedy or films that is aloud of bull because im 18 years old and have loved laurel and hardy since i first saw them and the other greats like charlie chaplin and ofcourse the 3 stoodges, norman wisdom and many more great old comedys i respect the for their pure genius nothing has ever come close to the golden oldies tbh
I just about fell on the floor laughing when Stan got up at the beginning of the film and Ollie discovered the sign behind Stan that read, Deaf and Dumb institute...no wonder they were`nt making any money. They were the best.
This colorized version has about ten minutes "missing", aka cut out from the original. Sort of like cutting twenty or so pages out of a book. No sense to it!
Every time I go busking, I remember this classic!
