to be honest, this won't happen for another 3-4 years at least... affordable flash memory right now is at 16gb, in which they put into the iTouch... regular solid state drives at 32 gb are at 400-500 dollars as well... they have the technology to increase storage space, but unless they can decrease cost, we won't be seeing anything bigger than 16 gigabytes...
So there is no way they can 'only' put a 8Gig capacity in it.
What I'm saying is that buying this now is useless because we all now there are goign to be improved (and cheaper)versions of it! so why spend hundreds of dollars now for something that's not at full capacity?

Actually your not doing the hacking there is a program out that does it for you. Its just if you mess up any of the steps while "JailBreaking" or "UnJailBreaking" your phone it gets really screwed up. Also im not certain but almost that AT&T is the iphone service in American only. I think they used other providers in different countries... But im not sure...
only 2 and it doesnt do video capture but theirs a program that u can download for it from a 3rd party that allows u to do video capture and for 2 mpixel the quality is great trust me

iPhone will sell - and when it sells, people will 'adapt' to the new usability - Apple will own this - this is a consumer device. The business consumer is not their focus -- not with this introduction. You folks have to stop thinking about market subsets. Apple Computer is dead because that is a subset of an entire market. EVERYONE uses a phone and the largest segment is ANYONE ELSE minus the business consumer - why jockey for the business market -- this thing will sell.

the reason they went with cingular is becuase cingular was the only company willing to work with them on the project. so maybe you have had bad customer service with them, but they are willing to at least do something new.
Only because they are waiting for the right specification...and a lot of the US isn't covered by 3G like in Europe. But I think Apple said that once the 3G take up globally has increased, they'll introduce it. I'm more puzzled that the camera is 2MP...thats a bit crap.

This is a beatifull device no doubt!
HOWEVER!
they can build an iPod with a capacity of 80Gigs.
So there is no way they can 'only' put a 8Gig capacity in it.

No matter how much you hate steve jobs, Apple didn't succeed in the market until iPod is introduced.
Apple realized that can not compete in the computer market with IBM, Microsoft, ..etc, therefore it went to music market and communication market.
60B $ just from iPod last year.

The business consumer is not their focus -- not with this introduction. You folks have to stop thinking about market subsets. Apple Computer is dead because that is a subset of an entire market. EVERYONE uses a phone and the largest segment is ANYONE ELSE minus the business consumer - why jockey for the business market -- this thing will sell.

if they only support cingular fcuk that... cingular is the nist bullsh!t company ever... now if they were with t-mobile or universal they would be doing a lot better... i was planning on getting it until i heard that its only for cingular

the reason they went with cingular is becuase cingular was the only company willing to work with them on the project. so maybe you have had bad customer service with them, but they are willing to at least do something new.

Only because they are waiting for the right specification...and a lot of the US isn't covered by 3G like in Europe. But I think Apple said that once the 3G take up globally has increased, they'll introduce it. I'm more puzzled that the camera is 2MP...thats a bit crap.
