Excellent and intriguing music. However, there was no "India" or "Pakistan" before mid-1940s. Region currently called (mostly by outsiders) Pakistan was so named by the English as acronym for Pathans-Afghans-Kashmiris + istan = "land of". Imaginary borders drawn by English are still contested. The English referred to region as the "Northwest Frontier Territories" and not as northwest India. Regardless, Ramon and company have produced beautiful music!
it was once arabic, but with the time the peopel who came on their place took the art and used their own language.its all arabian, the guitar, the oud,the maqamat the Nai all were developed by arabs, i agree that the mowashah is more enchanting.
This is flamenco, but the instrument called "Oud" is a traditional arabic instrument that is being used in this concert. Surely, flamenco has some roots in arabic music but also indian music as well.
Its not flamenco; its a fusion of whatever Ramon could pull together using a variety of instruments and flamenco compasses. If you like this kind of music, listen to "Radio Tarifa"..
Actually Pakistan would have originally been referred to as Northwest India. Most of North India is still in India, not Pakistan (I know that because I lived in North India for 12 years). It is beleived the 'gitanos' came from Punjab (half of which is in India and half in Pakistan) and Rajasthan (which is entirely in India).

flamenco came after... from the 800 years of stablish of the arabs in south Spain. and the indians that came as well..
Flamenco started with only singing.. La Tona. Way to express their sadness and suffering of the time. And then instruments were added
