  • some salad blends in the store have dandelion leaves in it.

The only time you should not eat them is if you put some sort of poisons in the lawn.

  • Here is a known fact: If people have certain conditions or illnesses, you need to check

with your doctor, ask him or her if it's ok to eat live things like dandelions. I know that people

do eat them, and I'm sure that some of them do have medical issues. Don't eat dandelions

before talking to a doctor, you have to be careful what you consume.

I'm also not fooled. I'm sure some of them hated the dandelion, but they are not

going to tell you that, what we see is based on facts, just opinions.

  • @PrincessSpearmint Did you ask your doc if it was OK to eat spinach??? Dandelions are not toxic and for 99.999% of people are just fine to eat. If you have medical issues it would be smart to ask you doc b4 you put anything into your piehole... just sayen :)

  • @MadBadVoodo Aren't allot of people very alergic to danelion? Is it ok to drink the tea?

  • @Illchangeitlater "Aren't allot of people very alergic to danelion?" Thats a new one on me but ask your Doctor if you want...

  • @MadBadVoodo Dandelion is the mane cause of hay fever in most people.

  • @Illchangeitlater The most common allergy is to grass pollen, which affects around 95 per cent of sufferers. The pollen is released from mid-May to mid-September but levels peak between June to the end of July.

  • Is that a betta in the bowl?

  • @SocalDNM Yes

  • You ROCK! Never go away!

You helped me a lot! ^_^

  • I have tried it before and I like it. I use a lot of sugar in anything I consume that requires sugar, so after sweetening the dandelion tea, to me it taste great. Haven't made the root coffee yet but will be trying that soon. Anyway, great info Bro. Thanks for sharing.

  • "i don't care about spots on my apples leave me the birds and the bees ...Please?" not to mention that most bugs are perfectly edible .......

  • Comment removed

  • Dandelions are very good for you. Infact most weeds are.Full of minerals, animos, enzymes and other cool stuff.

  • I have been trying to make a "flour" with the roots by drying and grinding them up. I noticed however that when i cut the roots a milky liquid seeps out. Almost all posionous plants have milky liquid from the roots. Survival experts advise people to never eat plants with milky liquid in the roots, i know im picking dandelions. I was wondering if there are different kinds of the plant? And if i should just ignore the milky liquid? Thank you for your time and video.

    -ElTalonDude

  • can you just boil it eith the petals and later take them u with a strainer?

  • check out the video of Dandelion Tea. i made it over a campfire. thanks and good video!

  • I am not worried about bugs but I am about animals in the backyard (dogs, cats, wild rabbits) soiling the flowers.

  • is it dangerous in any way

  • @mrgunandrun I drink it all the time so I don't think so...

  • @mrgunandrun Dandelions were originally brought to North America as a food crop by early European immigrants. The leaves, flowers & roots are edible.

  • Was worried for the goldfish for a moment, :).

  • "I got it at the local Kroger's" lol Yep, you're from Ohio like me lol

  • been taking a course in Herbalism and I have lots of these in my garden and knew what they were used for but, your method is much easier than mine.

  • It is Earth Day today, and I am going to make me some of this!

I have made it before, but not this method. I have a better feeling about it this time around (:

  • @skaivey It was a success! and I added some strawberry slices in as well, and honey for a sweetener!

  • @skaivey it sounds yummy. good idea, thanks

  • can i make it with dried dandelion?

  • @larvi95 Yes you can...

  • you can use the leaves also

  • @Mr420rushYes but try this first and see if you like it!...

  • @MadBadVoodo hah i do i do ;) thanks

  • Thanks for posting this, going out the back to pick some now :-)

  • totally rite about the bug thing

  • Yeah but you're better having an extract cause it's stronger. You can get really cheap Dandelion extract on EBay, really high strength.

  • @MsVenaLuna But that's not free! :)

  • @MadBadVoodo No, but it's cheap. But I'm not criticizing, it's still cool to make tea! :-)

  • lol...I was doing a search on dandelion tea and I found your video! 5 stars and thanks for taking the time to show this

  • Awesome! Great Vid *****

  • Hey man, tangent here, but: Don't keep your fish in that tiny little bowl. Too much ammonia, not enough oxygen. It's a poor, shorter life for a fish. Just a thought.

Anyway, I got huge dandelions in the back. Might make some of that tea today, first time for everything and a good way to get into the whole foraging deal.

  • ain't that the great thing about the interwebz? You don't have to watch what you don't want....don't worry about posting on this channel.....I post all kinds of crap on my channel, if you don't like a topic don't watch it...IMO anyway.

  • @Unknowngun101 Thanks and I hope you make a video when you do!!

  • I would still rinse them, the issue is not whether bugs have been on them, of course theres no avoiding that. But for the sake of some being sanitary I would rinse them off.

  • @ThunderAppeal I use verry hot water so I feel OK but I understand why you rinse them...
