these films arent just fun to watch for your own memories but fun to watch because its a nice slice of history :)
films these days miss the simple touches of films back then. and its not just being nostalgic its actually the truth. like this intro... its simple... yet so beautifully done. if this was today - hanz zimmer wouldve made an epic over the top score and some stupid celeb like stacy solomon would be doin voice overs...
but its watching films like this when i think - i love england :)
I remember watching this at my grandma's house when I was about 4. I always remembered the name 'water babies' but thought it was a single movie - is it a series?? None of it looks familiar so far - the one I remember was 'real life' then turned into 'cartoons' once under water. I haven't finished watching so this could be it :)
Oh thank you thank you for uploading this! Everyone should read the book by Kingsley, its still quite controversial considering the insults towards blacks, catholics (especially the Irish) but really a fascinating read. I just love it.
Now I'm really beginning to understand why this was a childhood favorite of mine-I have searched for years to find this movie, thanks to my father, I can watch it now.
I just love James Mason in this movie! No matter how he is dressed, to me he is still debonair! And he still has the best voice of anyone I ever heard.
I still remember the best line, even after all these years. "Single file everyone!" "Can we go in single file together." Good old Terrance! (Was that even the sea horse's name??)
That's some damn beautiful opening music.

I've just finished the book, and I don't think this could be much further from it in likeness.
