  • he looks like anthony bourdain

  • @juicewrekone anthony bourdain looks like him. and it sure isn't an honour to cohen

  • leonard is 'that higher place' and his voice, so sweetly Goth is like black velvet, really aged cognac- those of us who have loved him for what seems many life times, were not surprised by the success of the last few years- everything you need for life is contained in a leonard cohen song- those of us who know much sorrow are comforted by those' heroes in the seaweed' and I have walked Montreal's lonely cobbled streets listening to my boot heels...

  • KÖSZÖNÖM!/THANK YOU VERY MUCH!/

  • People talking without speaking,

    People hearing without listening,

People writing songs that voices never share

  • I love this so special voice, and the beautiful words which made wonderful songs! You ate the great singer and words lover too! Thanks so much for being on my Hi5 and also for all your songs. I was unhappy because I couldn't see Leonard when he came to Portugal. Piece!

  • Beautiful.

  • Hear my words that I might teach you

Take my arms that I might reach you

But my words like silent raindrops fell

    And echoed

    In the wells of silence

Beautiful. I've always liked the S&G song but I love listening to LC'as he narrates this because he has such a wonderful voice.

  • Brilliant.

  • Thanks for posting this.....truely awsome, love the song...LC takes it to a level so deep...999.9 kisses deep

  • Dear Leonard,

Obviously, you are moved in a very big way by Paul Simon. Well, dear man, that's how you move us. Thanks for all the beautiful, poignant, sensual songs you have given us. I get your music in my head and I am so glad that I have the privilege to know it. There aren't words good enough to tell you how I appreciate your songs.

  • @existingappointment Absolutely! Mr Cohen, with your voice, the lonely are comforted, the weak, strengthened, and the rich, humbled. I'd love to sit and just talk with you, though your voice will have to do, thank you for sharing your talent, you are a true gentleman!

  • P.S. Thank you for posting, Natales, excellent.

  • @Eagleray99 You're welcome. I thought it was too beautiful to remain hidden, so I had to share it with others.

  • @Eagleray99

Thanks again. That was to be shared

  • Excellent, thanks for posting. Leonard's velvet voice is a precision instrument :)

  • Ha ha, I get the feeling that Leonard is trying to be the man in his own poem...I think that he got close!

  • @messalina79 Thanks to you, LC's voice is food for the hungry. Keep ejoing good music and good poetry...

  • 2007 live album "Tribute to Paul Simon: Take Me to the Mardi Gras", featuring Canadian and international artists reinterpreting the songs of Paul Simon. Recorded live at the Montreal Int'l Jazz Festival in 2006. Bonus track: Leonard Cohen recites "Sounds of Silence". Source: leonardcohenfiles

  • The comparison you make with that poem of Cohen's is wonderful. I have also been thinking about that. Cohen's piece is actually written in 1956 - before Simon's.
