which model are you referring to as a "sub-compact"? The IS250 is around $32,000 the ES starts around the mid $35K and the GS is in the mid $40K range. I would buy a GS if I were in the market for a midsize this is the same range as an E class or a 5 series bmw and those start in the high $40 to mid $60K.

I test drove many cars in the same prize range as the mazda 3 i felt i drove much better than the other cars and more power. I did get the more luxury model but not the 2.5ltr one. i did test drive it and it was so much more better than the 2.0ltr engine.
As for the Lexus. Only those who's balls sag must drive it. I would never drive that car. It feels like an old persons car much like eating at country kitchen buffet.
Lexus should stick to their market of old people. After all, they also need cars :P

its actually going to be the size of the STS. they brought the size down because there was no market for the DTS anymore. nobody was making any cars in the area where the DTS competed anymore.
the main rivals to the STS are the 7-Series and S-Class. so hopefully, when this XTS comes out, the XTS-V will get the power needed to battle the 760i and S63 AMG.

I was thinking about this earlier today, and I have both a 1993 STS and a 1998 745iL, and the STS is actually about two inches longer with a shorter wheelbase which enhances performance. But as a Cad fan, the BMW's interior really does KO the Caddy's.
Smaller turn arc, and since my Caddy's FWD, that matters. It helps reduce understeer. Well, it doesn't reduce it, but if the wheel base was longer, it would have been worse.

My family actually owns the 07 3 and we just bought an 2010... I hate the dash in the 2010.. its weird sitting passenger and I would just much rather prefer the 07 over it. Also looks better :)

My 16 year old friend just got a Mazda3. It is pretty nice but I completely agree that the front styling just doesn't cut it. Other than that, it's a good car.

first off, the CTS isn't a mid-size if you wanna go back to that argument.
secondly, the IS isn't a compact car by ANY means. same size as the Corolla? do you EVER research before posting? because you make me laugh.
when has 178.7in ever been the same as 180.1in? the Corolla is right on the brink of being a mid-size, but its still in the compact segment. so just because the IS is ALMOST the same size as the Corolla, doesn't make the IS a compact.

the DTS and STS are larger fullsize cars. also, that would most likely explain why Cadillac will be ridding of both the STS and DTS to make one car named the XTS.

damn I love the old Devilles from the late 90's but the new one kind of lacks the umph...Ive always hated that its been a FWD rather than a RWD. I hope this XTS you speak of is better than the STS and the size of a land yacht

its actually going to be the size of the STS. they brought the size down because there was no market for the DTS anymore. nobody was making any cars in the area where the DTS competed anymore.
the main rivals to the STS are the 7-Series and S-Class. so hopefully, when this XTS comes out, the XTS-V will get the power needed to battle the 760i and S63 AMG.

actually, no, i mean the STS. the STS directly competes with the 7-Series. now if you're talking about the 760Li, then yes, that's a direct competitor to the SLS since they're long-wheelbase cars.
the 760i and S63 AMG aren't the long-wheelbase versions is my point. go check the dimensions on all 3 cars and you'll see what i'm talking about.

I was thinking about this earlier today, and I have both a 1993 STS and a 1998 745iL, and the STS is actually about two inches longer with a shorter wheelbase which enhances performance. But as a Cad fan, the BMW's interior really does KO the Caddy's.
Though, I don't know. I love my Cad more.

Smaller turn arc, and since my Caddy's FWD, that matters. It helps reduce understeer. Well, it doesn't reduce it, but if the wheel base was longer, it would have been worse.
It's why Porsches are so ugly at the front corners, my dad has a Boxter S.

Lexus of course does good lately, IS-C, RX450h, HS250h... as well as the soon tobe released fastback model. It's not an uncommon sign since BMW introduces 1series to attract younger buyers an as well as M-Benz B class... so it won't appears to only older folks for those old german brand... instead start buying Lexus..

first off, the LF-A is VERY close to being production.
secondly, the IS300 IS the Altezza and the SC300 IS the Soarer. the only differences are the Toyota and Lexus badges.

agreed.... however, the latest IS series, has been seperated completely with Toyota line-up as well as other model cause Lexus brand has officially been on sale in Japan domestic market now. So from now on you'll see less and less rebadge product between Lexus/Toyota.

Lexus needs a Yaris-sized car (I'll call it "YS" here), priced in the 20's, the top model being a YS-F with an 8000-rpm high output engine priced just under 30k, but a base YS would cost about $21000 or so
Honda should sell the Acura CSX in the US; a base CSX would probably sell for about $21000 and the Type-S maybe $27000
