I purchased the VW-CLT1 adapter used on eBay for a very low good price and it did NOT come with the front lens cap. The adapter is in like new condition and I would like to keep it.
Is there any way I could make a home made template to put in front of the lens to take the place of the calibration cap? My camera is the HDC-TM900 U.S. version.
Very nice video indeed and I do agree that it would be very easy to misthread the adapter.
Interesting. I'm thinking of getting one of these camcorders (after Christmas, catching the sales) but considering the price difference between a 3D lens and a complete camera, I may well get two SD900 cameras and mount them side by side, hopefully I should then get the same low light performance as the new Z10000 but without the £3K price tag! Interesting to see where the locating lugs are too, they rule out retrofitting the 3D lens to my old NV-GS400 unless using a Dremel!
3D is still very much experimental and not developed enough., especially at the consumer end of the market. The demand for it is virtually non-existent unless your making blockbuster movies, which of course you couldn't with this camera. Wearing specs to watch these movies is also unpopular and equipped TV's are not fully developed and far between. Give it several years and it maybe of interest. In the meantime, forget about 3D at this level.. It's just a gimmick.
@jogbird - In what way, specifically? I assume you've experienced both models in order to make such a judgment, in which case I'll be genuinely interested to hear of your comparative assessment of each. I haven't handled the Sony yet, so I'll reserve comment until I've been using it for a few days.
Because I was responding to some people who asked me to show how the 3D adaptor lens works in relation to the top tier of new Panasonic AVCHD models, that's why. I didn't set out to do a "video review" of the camera. And it's not really a review of the lens either - it's a "look". The sequence was embedded into my text-based review on the website - as was the intention.
It's pre-release review sample loaned to me by Panasonic UK for the purpose of getting reviews published before the product is released. I get advance access to all main camcorder products in this way. Colin.

Does the 3D lens come with the camera?

@SVDKOP you have to buy it separated

I would rather buy a 2nd tm700 than the adapter lens which has a very narrow 3d view and cuts the horizontal resolution to less than half.
