There is nothing harder then looking into someones eyes and giving them the flag and telling them that there love one has died. For all of you who gave up every thing and more I say thank you now and for ever God bless the USA and God bless the world and every one who dose good in it.
This incredible composition by Aaron Copland was used as the introduction to CBS Sports Spectacular in the late 1970s and also was posing music for the late Mike Mentzer(Mr America/Mr Universe). This music piece always inspires me
Osama Bin Laden is dead. he was killed 2 days ago on May 1st by a US Seal team. Long live the United States of America. I salute the men and women in uniform that are even now defending our freedom around the world. I Salute the Men who undertook this mission to kill one of Americas greatest enemies. the people who died on this day because of him are finaly avenged.
how about you all stop fucking bitching, and appreciate this for what it is: a compelling piece of music. if someone disagrees with you, nothing YOU say is going to convince them otherwise. so shut the hell up about conspiracies or 9/11 or whatever the fuck you are bitching about, and just watch the video. if you don't like it, then close the window. don't spew your bullshit that nobody cares about. sorry to sound harsh, but seriously, just listen to the goddamn song and do nothing more
This was a powrful song that Copeland never completed because he didn't kow how. This video expresses what it means. No politics, no sides, a common man. It's that simple. The common man, no matter what, is the driving force of the world. It never matters were we are from, religion, color. The common man is just that.
OMG I am doing a report on Aaron Copland for school and the teacher told us to listen to some of his music, and I never knew that he wrote this song!!!
People are just damn stupid saying all muslims are evil after this happened. The faggots that took the lives of those good people were not muslims. they were bastards. they were the extremists. they claimed that Allah told them to do this. no. this terrible crime has nothing to do with muslims.
Um, for all of you who are distressed that this is being used for political reasons: You should know that Copland WROTE it for political reasons in the early days of World War Two. He wrote it to counter the slaughter of the common man across the world by the Nazis and other tyrants. In those days, it looked very, very bad for the good guys. I like to think Copland nailed the issue, so don't be too quick to condemn his use of music for "politics."
There are no conspiracies, there are no secretive societies.
There is only the physical, educated and uneducated people.
What is , is. what happened, happened.
Accept it, and move on.
All political officials, bad or good, did something bad and good in their term. Stop pointing the finger, and look in the mirror..........Make what you see better.
Conspiracy, huh? Richard Nixon, the most secretive, sneaky and security paranoid President in the last Century, with all the resources of his office behind him, couldn't keep Watergate secret for more than twenty minutes (and he didn't have to worry about the Internet ratting him out).
I only WISH the government were a tenth as good at keeping secrets as the conspiracy nuts think they are. I used to be part of that apparatus. Believe me, they aren't that clever.
@heatman74...dude...FUCKING GET A LIFE....oh wait, you can't. You are a fucking idiot, and i KNOW for a fact that you have been watching too much "Loose Change" videos about the conspiracy of the WTC and the Pentagon being a stunt pulled by the US government. I personally have seen the videos and they made me not only disgusted but also sick that someone can make up all that fucking shit to convince people about that the US government attacked their own country. Get a life Jackass and FUCK OFF!
explain the complete windows that were not shattered right next to the hole. Explain high ranking military officials coming out of the pentagon smelling what would be spent explosives(I think they would know that smell)
Like I said in my earlier post, Explain to me, and everyone else WTC7??? Bet you can't explain that.
explain the almost perfect 16' hole that went thru 6 rings of the pentagon. Explain how a airplane made of aluminum, is going to go thru not one but many 6' concrete walls. Explain the FBI, confiscating all security videos, atm videos etc, that had line of sight to the pentagon. Show me a 757 on the seven or so frames of video that got released. look up other pictures of plane wrecks, then show me plane wreckage at the pentagon Step out of your ignorant shell and study both sides.
@heatman74 Kinetic energy = mass times VELOCITY SQUARED. Basic physics explains that aluminum plane going thru so much concrete foolish conspiracy theorist. Didn't you go to high school?
@heatman74 take a small, sectioned window and through a rock at it and see how many sections break. do that and you have the answer to your first question
Digga. I understand where you are coming from. Idid not try to shame anyone. Most people who think 9/11 was done by terrorists, havent looked at both sides of the story. I have done the research, I have talked to Gulf Vets. If one would just take an un biased look at both sides, and explore the evidence, you might find that you can't trust the Gov't as far as you can throw them. If you need a head start in ignore the twin towers and examine WTC7, or find plane debris outside the pentagon.
Shut it. I agree with dlbucko. Keep the politicking for the political forums. This video is not meant to be anyone's bandstand for their conspiracy theories and opinions. It is to commemorate the innocent people whose lives were stolen from them on September 11th. You shame their memory when you start shooting insults back and forth or make stupid, unfounded comments like that.
on 9-11 the United states Military went to war agains the evils of terrorism and the Muslim extremists that spawned these attacks in that time over 3500 men and women have died. I am sorry if the count is wrong. I forget how many have lost their lives in defense of our country and to the I give my hearffelt thanks. and to the group comparing Hiroshima and Nagasaki to 9-11. I only have this to say. the 9-11 attacks were meant to frighten us nothing more. nagasaki was meant to end a bloody war.
On 9/11, the Chaney-Bush administration launched the greatest and latest campaign of terrorism and militarism since the end of the Cold War-considering in the period between 1989 and 2001 you had the war in the Panama Invasion, Gulf War 1, and Kosovo that is no mean accomplishment. Those Americans who died or were maimed or crippled in Iraq and Afghanistan thinking they were defending their country unfortuately were tragically mistaken.

@JoshRand2006 but i hope the mark you mean to make is not one stating that using nuclear warfare is morally right, it was very inhumane, killing hundreds of thousands of people just trying to live a normal life, it was a thing that makes me sad to call myself an american
@Decont89 1.5 Million. thats how many casualties we would have taken to conquer Japan. As for my point. I despise nuclear weapons. and I deperately hope that there is never another instance where it is used in anger. and as for us inventing the bomb. your wrong. we didnt start on it first we just finished first. germany got real close during WW2. look it up online. and there are rumors that japan had a nuclear program as well.
@JoshRand2006 Yes, but we were the first to use one on enemies, and I agree with you, about the eventual high casualty rate, but that never makes it right.
Aaron Copeland is no doubt a master of his craft, and Fanfare For the Common Man is a great piece of music. But I fear that trying to marry it to 9-11 is not a good idea. Music should be allowed to exist in space. Copeland's piece is certainly a great composition, but we do a disservice by coupling it with 9-11. I watched 9-11 unfold in front of a news camera--there is no reason for it, or for this to be inextricably linked to the attacks.
10 years ago war came to this land.. there will be no surrender no peace not until the we have hunted and destoryed all these bastards rember ..the london bombings there can be no peace no matter the cost until we have exercuted this scum live on tv.
Unprecedented Strength...thats all i can say....those Firemen and Iron Workers who fought...fought...higher authorities to get at that nightmare and look for survivors and only finding pieces of survivors...day after day breathing that shit....cutting their lifespans in half.....this is a nice tribute piece...well done but i can't think of anything that would ever do them justice....God bless New YOOORK??....u gotta fukin probm wit dat??
I love this country and love the men and women who have served and are serving for protecting our freedoms that US, the people of a free nation, are so privileged to have and hold. This country is among the greatest. WE are strong, even when OUR spirits get broken like the horrific days of Pearl Harbor and 9/11, WE still fight through. This nation is great and I love my fellow country men and women. USA
You people arguing are rediculous. 1st of all, this is a memorial, 2nd, NONE of you know the reasoning behind the war- and its a "war on terrorism" not on Iraq, Afghanistan, whatever. So shut your traps or argue somewhere else.
@hgykyggbhy There is no point. Bush was just a puppet doing what he was told. Just like every president since Woodrow Wilson. That includes the puppet we have now.
as a thought if anyone would redo this video, at the ending chord of the song, you should have the picture were the firemen where standing an American flag on top of some rumble. that would make this AMAZING (as if it wasnt already. lol)
@kdavisification Tell me why you think the government of our own democratic nation would launch an attack like this on its own people? If you don't like it here in this beautiful nation, you may pack your things and leave.
@kdavisification oh you are just so funny, and no I am preparing to serve my country in the USCG. I am no government troll. I am sorry but I refuse to believe this nonsense of a government attack on the people, in which the government was founded upon by the people and for the people.
Our country will never be united again as we were on September 12th, 2001. Watching this makes me yearn for those times when politics was thrown aside and we all banded together for what we knew needed to be done, despite race, religion, or political affiliation. God Bless this nation and all the souls lost that day. To those who committed these horrible crimes...AS WELL as any truthers and anyone who disliked this video...BURN IN HELL.
@hgykyggbhy why do you find any fault in president bush, after all for what he went through in his 8 years as president he should've been awarded a medal
america can still produce the most amazing musical pieces that touch the core of peoples hearts, this is how i see these images and the music, ordinary people doing ordinary things, just being human in such tragic circumstances, we should respect those who died here and were so affected by it, name calling is not what they people left us, Peace always even when it hurts,
9-11 was an inside job. I focus not so much on who was involved, but rather who was affected. Initially all the people that were murdered. Then the first responders who were killed and are still dying as a result to the exposure to so many toxins. Now we are are all being affected by the bullshit propaganda they control freaks are using to take away our freedoms. Give up my freedom for "safety and security" offered by them? No thanks, I can defend myself.
m3lkOr...THANK YOU..IT REMINDS ME THAT THERE ARE DECENT PEOPLE LIKE YOU..WHO THROUGHT THEIR EFFORT RECOGNISE THIS DAY ALL THE PEOPLE WHO SUFFERED SO MUCH...AND THAT IN LIFE THERE IS HUMANITY NOT JUST WONTEN DESTRUCTION OF SUCH DEFENCELESS PEOPLE...
Are you FREAKING KIDDING me, guys? You use this video for political theories and arguments? How would this be different if any of you were effected by this tragedy? You take this horrible day and laugh at it, blame it on Bush, and swear at each other? What if someone in YOUR family died? What if you were one of those officers or firefighters on that fateful day?
...What if it were YOU in those towers, dead, with your family at loss?
Use you head before you make yourself look like an idiot.
@sargezeldaproduction thank you for writing that ... a friend of mine never made it out of the 86th floor of tower 1 ... and my oldest brother barely escaped with his life. thank you again
Would be nice to travel back to a little before the attacks, pull everyone out of the buildings, and replace them with you fucking insensitive conceited self important conspiricy idiots.
I get goosebumps everytime no literally EVERYTIME i listen to this song...Thank you Aaron Copland for being a musical genious and may we never forget this horrible day in American history.
@nebulae87 Osama bin Laden and co. were watching this from his cave and they didn't like it. Any other person who would rate this a thumbs down is no better than a terrorist.
You should be ashamed of yourself if you are blaming people or arguing. This is to remember all of those who were lost that day. Please show some respect!
Aaron Copland and Fanfare for the Common man is to the U.S as The Maple leaf to Canada. 2995 deaths, 2995 souls lost, 2995 families grieving. God Bless them.
It's not just Americans that are misinformed jackass!! Ask anyone from whatever godforsaken spit of land you come from and you'll be sure to get the same answer. I think we know that our own douche bag of a president used 9/11 as an excuse to go to war for the purposes of redeeming his father's failures in office.
Also, learn how to spell before you next get the urge to criticize someone, you'll seem less hypocritical that way.
omg!!!!!!!!! it used to be funny that huge amount of people were so badly informed but now it really is very scarry. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11!!!!!! A small collection of extremists from egypt and saudi arabia were paid to carry out the acts of 9/11 by a group of Danish and German Royalty and Billionaires as part of their long term plan to crash economies and create one world government. The other part about a stopping a dictatorship is true, Its a pity so many wont stop fighting.
@quagmire1807 I cant say Ive watched those TV series like V about reptile humanoids. Have the scriptwriters taken what the NWO have been doing to take over the world and used it as their plot?
i will never forget the day iraq messed with us . we can win this war if we help each other . it can never be won when half of the is worried about orgnized crime that we have to fight are own war in the US . we will never forget perl harbor we will never forget all the men we lost in somila and we will never forget 9/11.01 thats what I have to say .
Just so you know most terrorists responsible for attacks on the US are in Afghanistan or fled to Pakistan, we invaded Iraq mostly for the preservation of freedom
@graidstin The other ones have so little respect for human (I'm not sure what they are considered-definitely NOT human) life that they would kill themselves like the worthless pieces of terrorist refuse they are.
The thing I don't get is that you're all going on about what caused something that's now in the past. Sure, remember, but arguing over who caused it won't help. if you really want to have an effect, do something about what's happening HERE and NOW, because that's what matters.
i think i may have inadvertantly stumbled upon the mass murdering terrorist who was behind 9/11..you will spot him if you freeze at ..1.42.....9/11 was an inside job...wake up america...wake up.
Please do not spread lies for political convenience. I unfortunately was acquainted with three of the hijackers who lived in my home town. Take your animus to George Bush and go else where. 9/11 was not an inside job.
Then let me ask you this, are you acquainted with the Project for a New America Century document, Rebuilding America`s Defenses, Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century, and who was involved in making it?
The people that flame the US ( Note, I'm Canadian ) are too much of a coward to say that to an American's face.
Seriously, you're tough, you flame a country over the internet in your little room. Are you not mature? People lost their lives over a war they were never involved in. It sickens me that today's society acts the way it does.
RIP to anyone that has been killed in 9/11, Iraq, and any and all past wars.
I was there that day and all I can say is that while I saw absolute horror, and I was as scared as I have have ever been, - whenever I looked to the men who responded with me on either side, all I saw on their faces was bravery. To all of those who fell, I try to emulate what you taught me on that day and consider you my constant guides in life. I will try to be worthy of living.
im british and i dont know how al queda can feel proud about this it was a cowardly and unprovoked attack i saw it on the news over here saying that a plane had hit the world trade centre and all my colleagues were saying couldnt the pilot see the massive building in front of him and i said no that was delibrate fuck knows who it was but someone took control of that plane muslims are evil
Some of you people should be ashamed of yourselves. Marring a moving tribute to innocent people killed in an horrific tragedy with political conspiracy theories and hatred. To those of you who say this attack was deserved, shame on you. The people killed in this attack weren't military or political figures!! They were bystanders who lost their lives in a war they weren't fighting. No matter what your political ideology, that's wrong. Stop this in-fighting and just show some respect!!
@dlbucko Of course America would NEVER do something like that. Oh wait yes we did. During the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki the U.S.A. killed upto 250,000 civilians. One of the criteria for bomb location was a large URBAN area meaning there would be lots of collateral damage. Every side that commits atrocious acts always believe that they are justified in doing so. We dropped the bombs to end a war and Bin Laden destroyed the Twin Towers because of religious and ideological beliefs.
@dartsharkbob I'm not going to debate political ideology mate, nor 'who did waht to whom and were they justified'. This isn't the place. If someone was at the Hiroshima Peace memorial disrespecting the Japanese I'd be just as riled. This video is to commemorate innocent victims. Not to serve as a soapbox for politcal standpoints.
@dlbucko Blind faith must be a wonderful thing. I was simply replied to your post. As for this not being the place to talk, this is the best place to talk about it to ensure that we learn from what happened.
“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Sir Winston Churchill
We keep falling into the same trap we have always fallen into. We are not learning we just keep doing the same old same old. That didn't work for the Roman Empire and it wont for us, we need to learn.
@dartsharkbob 'Blind Faith'? Somebody help me out here, I don't think I understand. My upset isn't with your views or opinions, but the forum you chose to express them...Once agin, this video isn't about consipiracies, or politics, or war, it's about people. Innocent people who died for no good reason and the heroes who risked (and in many cases lost) their lives to try to save them. Let's just be respectful of that and leave the politicing for political forums, aye?
@dartsharkbob Large URBAN areas were being bombed regularly during WWII, so Hiroshima and Nagasaki were no exception. More people were killed during the fire bombing of Tokyo then in the Nuclear attacks. I remember something said to Pres. Truman when considering the use of the bomb, this paraphrased . I don't know what history will say about using the bomb, but I do know what might be said at our impeachment trial in 1946 when people find out the war could end without invading Japan..
@vrin1 Are you really that ignorant? What could Japan have done to deserve that? The boming of Pearl Harbor was an attack against a MILITARY target designed to lessen the naval advantage the USA held in the Pacific Theater. The death toll was 2350 people of which 68 were civillians. The Atomic bomb drops were targeted at CIVILIAN cities and killed more than a quarter of a million civillians and more died later. That wasn't deserved. That wasn't even a proportional response. That was wrong!!!
@dartsharkbob do your research. Nagasaki and heroshima were not just civilian cities they were industrial giants which produced machines for the japanesse war machine.
@Bigleswade1 So by your reasoning that makes every major American city a legitimate target for anyone who wants to go to war with the USA. Besides being an Icon of American Capitalism the World Trade Center was a hub for many industries that support America so then it was a legitimate target for terrorists at war with America to attack.
@dlbucko Well Said. These people lost their lives simply because they happened to go to work that day. Let's remember that, Every morning when you leave your home, it could be the last time you will ever see it and your family. Never Forget.
bandboy10, Right ON!!! The Dems continue to screw us... look at the economic crises they caused... and for what? ...for a slightly larger constituency... but I guess it worked for them; they're in power and not a single one has visited Old Sparky or is in jail.
@sac8345 Imagine if Al Gore was president during this. He would have screwed us up more than any president ever. These people who waste their lives criticizing everything Bush did for our country should open their eyes.
9/11 was and still is clintions fault. When he was in office there was at least 5 or 6 US embassy bombings and then to top it off there was the attack on the USS Cole. Where 17 familys got the triangle flag. And what did that bastered do about it? NOT ONE THING. He was too busy boning some one. With his inacction that gave the idea that we wouldn't do anything if they hit us. So 9/11 happened. Yes it was the governments fault, but not the Bush adminasration THE NO GOOD CLINTIONS. Thank u ** dems
I think some people are missing the point. This isn't the place to argue about the government, and whether or not 9/11 was a conspiracy...it's a tribute to those who suffered or lost their lives and to the heroes who risked everything to rescue those at ground zero.
My wife and I passed through New York about a month before the 9/11 attacks on our way back home. We stopped in Scotland to visit family then flew on to Association Island to get the boat to St Helena. The news of the attacks came just as we were getting on the boat, everyone was shocked by what was happening. We listened to the BBC on the way home. I remember a delightful man we chatted with in NYC at a little restaurant, I've always wondered how he fared in that mess, and hoped he was safe.
its not really about oil. Some of the Middle Eastern extremist view the last 1500 years of human progression as sin, and the US is the main image behind that. By attacking us, they feel like thier message will reverberate the best. They believe by attackign and killing us 'non believers' that they are actually doing thier god a favor and they will live on as martyrs for doing it.
How can you nuke a stateless movement? How can you nuke terrorists? There is no country in the world that is entirely made up of terrorists alone. Can you justify ending millions of innocent lives as retaliation for an attack that only killed a few thousand innocents in your own country? 9/11 was a true tragedy. But the nuke idea is stupidity incarnate.
Remember...Pearl Harbor, The Alamo, The Maine, The innocents...casualties of War.. sure, they did not start it...but, their Government did..( the BAD guys) Get over it! They (The Japs and the Nazis) had to be STOPPED, one way or another...
and that was when only 1 nation had nuclear technology, that's not the case anymore, that changes things. Also that was traditional (i.e. nation vs nation, take the capital and win) warfare, that's not at all what an insurgency is (i.e. Terrorism)
Love and the utmost respect from England. We've got your back any time you need us. Peace.

Bet you can't explain that.
heatman74 1 year ago 2
explain the almost perfect 16' hole that went thru 6 rings of the pentagon.

If you need a head start in ignore the twin towers and examine WTC7, or find plane debris outside the pentagon.

on 9-11 the United states Military went to war agains the evils of terrorism and the Muslim extremists that spawned these attacks in that time over 3500 men and women have died. I am sorry if the count is wrong. I forget how many have lost their lives in defense of our country and to the I give my hearffelt thanks. and to the group comparing Hiroshima and Nagasaki to 9-11.

I despise nuclear weapons. and I deperately hope that there is never another instance where it is used in anger. and as for us inventing the bomb. your wrong. we didnt start on it first we just finished first. germany got real close during WW2. look it up online. and there are rumors that japan had a nuclear program as well.

I watched 9-11 unfold in front of a news camera--there is no reason for it, or for this to be inextricably linked to the attacks.

dlbucko 2 years ago 81
@dlbucko Of course America would NEVER do something like that. Oh wait yes we did. During the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki the U.S.A. killed upto 250,000 civilians. One of the criteria for bomb location was a large URBAN area meaning there would be lots of collateral damage. Every side that commits atrocious acts always believe that they are justified in doing so. We dropped the bombs to end a war and Bin Laden destroyed the Twin Towers because of religious and ideological beliefs.
dartsharkbob 1 year ago
@dartsharkbob I'm not going to debate political ideology mate, nor 'who did waht to whom and were they justified'. This isn't the place. If someone was at the Hiroshima Peace memorial disrespecting the Japanese I'd be just as riled. This video is to commemorate innocent victims. Not to serve as a soapbox for politcal standpoints.
dlbucko 1 year ago
@dlbucko Blind faith must be a wonderful thing. I was simply replied to your post. As for this not being the place to talk, this is the best place to talk about it to ensure that we learn from what happened.
“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Sir Winston Churchill
We keep falling into the same trap we have always fallen into. We are not learning we just keep doing the same old same old. That didn't work for the Roman Empire and it wont for us, we need to learn.
dartsharkbob 1 year ago
@dartsharkbob 'Blind Faith'? Somebody help me out here, I don't think I understand. My upset isn't with your views or opinions, but the forum you chose to express them...Once agin, this video isn't about consipiracies, or politics, or war, it's about people. Innocent people who died for no good reason and the heroes who risked (and in many cases lost) their lives to try to save them. Let's just be respectful of that and leave the politicing for political forums, aye?
dlbucko 1 year ago
@dartsharkbob Large URBAN areas were being bombed regularly during WWII, so Hiroshima and Nagasaki were no exception. More people were killed during the fire bombing of Tokyo then in the Nuclear attacks. I remember something said to Pres. Truman when considering the use of the bomb, this paraphrased . I don't know what history will say about using the bomb, but I do know what might be said at our impeachment trial in 1946 when people find out the war could end without invading Japan..

@WMJCPA What does this have to do with 911?
vrin1 1 year ago
@dartsharkbob What? Japan got what they deserved, period.
vrin1 1 year ago
@vrin1 Are you really that ignorant? What could Japan have done to deserve that? The boming of Pearl Harbor was an attack against a MILITARY target designed to lessen the naval advantage the USA held in the Pacific Theater. The death toll was 2350 people of which 68 were civillians. The Atomic bomb drops were targeted at CIVILIAN cities and killed more than a quarter of a million civillians and more died later. That wasn't deserved. That wasn't even a proportional response. That was wrong!!!
dartsharkbob 1 year ago
@dartsharkbob do your research. Nagasaki and heroshima were not just civilian cities they were industrial giants which produced machines for the japanesse war machine.
Bigleswade1 1 year ago
@Bigleswade1 So by your reasoning that makes every major American city a legitimate target for anyone who wants to go to war with the USA. Besides being an Icon of American Capitalism the World Trade Center was a hub for many industries that support America so then it was a legitimate target for terrorists at war with America to attack.
