it will only take you 1 to 2 weeks of doing this to actually be able to start doing full correct ones, i never believed it either until i started this exercise.
Just so you guys know Mike Caviston isn't a SEAL for everyone assuming he is which i can see in the comments you are... However he is a extremely qualified regardless and knows what he is talking about.
you can tell this guy has a lot of physical and mental strength. He was able to keep his voice at the same level whether he was doing a fast pull up or slow one and i can't do that. After i do a few pullups i can barely catch my breath this guy was doing them especially the slow coming down one like it was nothing.
just tried these on my bar and wow, 10 felt like 25. went up slowly, paused for 2 seconds, and took about 3 seconds to go down. i can even feel it in my core.
@MRSVISHOUS2012 Nah. I preserve more energy resulting in more pull ups doing it my way. Besides if u watch the the Navy SEAL docus. they tell them to do it the other way. That's where I got it from. He's not doing it the Navy Seal way even though he is one.
In Jump School in the US Army, and we had to be able to do either six or seven pullups. It is , for me the most difficult exercise, but by training with sufficient determination mindset, it was possible to double my output in just a day or two. If you don't have the right physique, pullups are difficult, but the flip side is, if they are hard to do because you are heavy set, then when you DO manage to be able to do a full set of them, your arms and upper torso are just THAT much more powerful.
I'd have thought they would go up higher rather than reaching with his chin to get the pullup, but then again I guess there are more important things to learn than pullups to your nipps ha
Remember Pearl Harbor! Carl Tacea,my gradfather would give his cigarettes to the other guys and laugh when some new sailor came aboard. He loved to play cards and gamble. I t wasn't really gambling though when he bet the new swabby he could do 100 1 arm pull-ups without stopping. He won a lot of money staying fit and keeping us free. You guys think you are tough?

@Daveofd00m Yet you search up SEALs on youtube and talk shit? Yea we have the best military ever are you mad? Go back to your piece of shit country with your half ass military kid.
I legitimately want to be a SEAL, SWCC, or Force Recon, but am still in hs. I want to go to college, become an officer, do SEALs, SWCC, or FR then after Navy/Corps I want to go to med or dental school
@funpow5566 well good luck with that, my recruiter said that you only get one chance of becoming a navy seal if ur an officer. The instructors go harder on you because you have to be better than the other guys because when ur in the field you will be leading them. I'm planning on going to college and OSC after i become a SEAL. I'm in high school too bro
@funpow5566 - Next time you are on the west coast, and it is 39 degrees outside, get in your swim wear and lay down in the surf for 15 minutes at 10 pm, then run a half mile in the sand and repeat that exercise about 15 times. If you cannot do that, you will never pass buds.
@390bullitt1968 Lol so you have to be able to withstand the cold and run 7.5 miles? Any cold weather world class marathoner would find that a nice easy warm up
@Daxter3939 I feel you're agitation bro. I gotta increase my over-hand pull-ups too and they're legitimately harder. The Army only allows over-hand. How lame LoL
@jasonbournetodie Dude nice ! But I feel really bad that I don't know what a tan beret is. I know a lot about the Military but I'm not completely sure what that is. Also, I'm gunning for Ranger.
@Daxter3939 Actually you're kinda right. All the way up 'til June of 2001 the Rangers did in fact wear black berets, but because black berets are now the standard throughout the entire Army, the Rangers changed theirs to tan.
It's sad because berets were hard-earned distinctions years ago, but now EVERYONE in the Army gets a black one to "symbolize unity" or something like that. From plumbers to infantrymen LoL
@jasonbournetodie They're not totally different. Did you know Rangers are branched Infantry? Yes! They might act elite but in reality they're just slightly more physically fit. Second, Armored Cavalry and Armor were the first the don the black beret because of it's practicality inside of a tank. Don't believe me? Read up on the history army.mil/features/beret/beret.htm . Check your facts before you go spouting nonsense you learned from playing Modern Warfare.
@reddog418 I was referred to the TAN beret, not the BLACK one. But anyhow, nobody STOLE anything from anyone. So try again..
I can tell you're ignorant by the way you "matter-of-factly" state that Rangers "act" elite when everyone in Spec Ops IS elite.. Whether you like it or not they're NOTHING like regular Infantry.
I'm aware that they're branched infantry fool. That's because of their versatility as a rapid force SPEC OPS unit!
They're Spec Ops just like SEALs, SF, PJs, and CCTs.. Prick!
@jasonbournetodie Right. So tankers had the beret. Then HQDA said don't wear it. Then rangers wear the black. Then 2001 everyone wears it, so rangers change colors. Comparing a Ranger to SF/SEAL/PJ is not the same. Not even close. Are you even IN the military? Or are you just one of those arm-chair generals?
i suck at pull ups i can only do like 3 not from dead hang i can do alot more chin ups and from dead hang doe sanyone have some tips on how to get better at pull ups?
Good God, he makes it look like pure butter! FYI- I went a long time not being able to do pull-ups, & a lot of individuals can't do them. I was finally able to do them by performing some shoulder focused weight exercises (Lat Pull-down, Bent-over Dumbbell Row, etc.), & by always giving it a try on the bar near my door every time I passed by it. Eventually I could do them from a dead hang, & crank them out. Now I can do them with a 20lb. vest on. My advice is go for it, but mind your joints!
@GUMMYBEAYUH I can still only do 1 and I'm not allowed a pullup bar at home (16 years old so not 'in my own place' yet) so try them on a tree but the shoulder advice is great, thanks. I don't have a lot of the equipment but I can already go longer after 3 weeks of military shoulder press and lateral raise using dumbbells, e.g. I used to do 1 and that was it for the workout (100 pushups, 100 situps, 50 triceps dips, 50 squats, 1 pullup) but now I'll do 5 sets of 1 before failing.
