Fatty Arbuckle got Cary Grant his early work. Archie Leach as his name was then was a stilt walker and tie painter on Coney Island. According to George Burns Fatty gave Archie his first start....So much he did and so little we know.

Her death was purely accidental and related to a pre-existing bladder infection. She was in very fragile health the day she went to that party. Her condition ironically could have been aggravated by all the jostling of her friends trying to help her after they found her sick in the bathroom. Or perhaps her health was aggravated by an (illegal) abortion. We'll never know for sure.

well what I know is that Mr.Arbuckle had a trial for this is it not? So the circumstances of Ms Virgina Rappe dead were very mysterious seemed that Mr. Arbuckle killed her but no one could proved that...as you said we'll never know for sure

Not to mention that chance encounter w/ Buster Keaton in N.Y. If it wasn't for that meeting and Arbuckle taking him under his wing and mentoring him, we wouldn't have the great Keaton classics. Buster remembered his best friend during the scandal and helped him w/ his finances. Buster kept a picture by his desk for the rest of his life.

Here goes, from memory - Fatty was the biggest star in Hollywood until, at party held in a hotel room in San Francisco - a young woman died from internal injuries, and it was alleged that Fatty had molested her sexually with a bottle. After three lurid trials he was acquitted, but his career was over. Fatty finally made a comeback, and on his first day on the set, he said he felt the best he'd ever felt in his life - he died of a heart attack later that day...
