Yes, I assume you're talking about the one in Banstead 23412. I looked at it again today, virtually burnt to the ground. I'm so upset, I loved that Waitrose. All those poor staff without a job just before Christmas.
Fortunately, the Waitrose website says "The 205 Partners from the Banstead branch will be redeployed at branches nearby in Coulsdon, Epsom, Worcester Park and Sanderstead", so no-one will lose their jobs. I went to Banstead Infants School that was previously on that site and my parents still shopped at that Waitrose.
i was working there that night. it was a pain cos we all got sent in to clean it up the next few days, then sent to southsea, chi, waterlooville branches for a few months. The shop was never the same after the refit. Still, was good to see havant on youtube!
I doubt you did if you can't spell it right. It's "Hayling Island" and Waitrose has of course been full rebuilt now, although I believe the cause was never found... Still its a nice store now, I do remember the smell of BBQ the evening after.

I missed Waitrose in those six months of rebuilding! I remember going back in there the day it re-opened :D

I usually walk to school down that side road of Waitrose, and for 6 months I had to go a different way. Sad times.

I lived in Hayland Island for 11 months. I remember that day I went to Havant and I saw the whole thing. What a disaster it was!!!

Cool I live in Havant, I remember when that happened, the roads were blocked for ages it was hard to get to school, guess which school I go to. :O
