@mphello If it is Rabbits, then the only way to protect your crops is by growing everything in cages. Make sure you bury the wire at least 6 inches in the soil though, as they can burrow a long way. Or you could watch over them day and night and capture them, nice in a stew. Are there any Rabbits droppings about? If there are then it's them for sure.
@clairesallotment Haven't seen any droppings. Good point. Sorry - I've not had a smoking paw, so to speak.
However, my best friend spotted one near my garden one time - very bold. The rabbit didn't run away from her, she claimed.
I still want to figure out how to biotech synthesize meat in a laboratory without killing a mammal or bird each time before I absolutely HAVE to kill one.

eeveryime i hear the melodie at the beginning i fall a sleep. And after that i'mdancing like a wild kolraby.TELL ME WHATS THE NAME OF THAT SONG!!ITS AWESOME!I NEED TO HAVE IT!AAAAAAAH!
Glad to see you are putting up vids again. I think the six to nine inch spacing may be a bit much. I always sow mine straight into the soil here in Kentucky and thin them to about three inches apart. Harvest when they are about three inches in diameter. Kohlrabi is a cool weather crop, but it looks like it may be cool enough there. 93 fegrees F today 101degrees heat index ,thirty miles north of Lexington. Bye.
@treehot16 It may be a little too far apart, but I want them to have room to stretch their legs. Can't wait for them to be ready. I may try starting them off out door next year and see what happens. Your weather's very warm, we had 24 today my push to 25 tomorrow. Summer is definitely here, long may it stay.
It amazes me in June u have to wear a sweatsuit top..sheesh its like 95 F, here in Arkansas and the humidity is thick and sweltering..I dont even go outdoors unless its early morning or late late evening after it cools off and my squashes are just wilting and not putting out like they should..I keep watering but between the pests and the heat not having much luck this yr so far..but the tomatoes seem to like it..wish it was cooler, tho. If u dont mind, could u let us tour ur garden? Thx, Angie
@kokonutbaby1 Hi Angie, It's lovely and warm this week, but when I filmed the North wind was blowing and boy it was chilly. I'll make a video of the garden and allotment for you all to see. Hope the weather cools down for you a little.
I tried to grow my own food for the first time in my life, this year.
But somebody has eaten all the leaves of my zucchini, tomato, spinach, melon, most of my corn plants down to the nub.
I suspect wild rabbits, but I have no direct evidence: no smoking bun. Only circumstantial evidence. Wild rabbits are common around my community.

never grown kholrabi, how do you cook it?
Billybunter32 1 year ago
@Billybunter32 Peel, then you can roast, boil, microwave, fry. Can even be eaten raw. When I first cook it I'll put instructions on the blog.
