"Captain Sunshine" & "Walk On Water" are Neil's best compositions on "Moods". "Song Sung Blue" isn't bad, either, although it pales in comparison to the above two.

I have lost touch with Neil's music since his last 3 or 4 album's.And because of the success of them, I feel that I will be getting even farther away in the future. It was album's like "Mood's" that really got me into the greatness of Neil's ability.His latest music just isn't the essence of what Neil is about musically for me. that's just the way I feel about it."Mood's" really put's "12 Song's" and "Home after Dark" to shame...

I'll think it was 1976 that my older brother came back home from shopping and brought the album "Beautiful Noise" with him.

The impact of the singer was bigger to me than to him, I am still very create-full to him.

It's magical that some of his older songs like this one never get boring to. Think it's because the singer put so much of himself into it and sings with that special sound & feeling, the man is by far to good for the "hall of fame"! thank you N.D. & brother Cees!

Just found my old cassette tape 'And the Singer Sings his Song' and as there isn't a CD of it started searching all the 'best of' albums but they don't include my favourites; the nearest I can find to the selection I want is 'Gold'. Great memories of the 70s!

I got into Neil Diamond music from this album on LP when I was about 8, I love all his music, however the songs on Moods are probably some of his least known and best. This song is my definate favorite.

Captain Sunshine is one of my favorite Neil Diamond songs. Neil should have stuck with his old songwritting style. The new CDs are not very good.  These old songs of his just flowed and had a story that only Neil can sing.

@ives100 sorry pal but I have purchased the CD that has Neil latest works and they just don't get it with me. The music is bland, the background music is dull, his voice is not what it was. Even in recent concerts his voice cracks, he doesn't move the audience anymore like it days gone by. Neil is not what he was nor is his music. I still think he can come up with some new stuff but he needs to let the band take charge, maybe listen to his old stuff and go from there.
