wow friendly fire is unacceptable fuck the russians they are starting to be assholes im not even american but thats bulshit and there trying to take over the arctic wtf the arctic is canadas and we are a peace loving country why try to take that from us
McCaine & America where defeated by Vietnamese peasants, and ran home in disgrace!
The U.S military is a pathetic joke, you American losers spend more on your army than the next 15 nations combined yet you can't even secure the airport in Baghdad.
@wnxsilence The USA has been the world's mightiest country for these last 200 years for one reason: long-term survival of the capitalist ruling clique whereas its objectives are carried by the White House and the U.S. Congress. Its military setbacks in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, etc. only serve to demonstrate its short-term goals (to rescue its economy from getting further mired in recession) of using other nations as a catalyst to kickstart the economy.
@wnxsilence AMerikans did not lose vietnam comrade by 1965 to 1968 the nva were losing battles and in tet offensive the nva and vc were weakening but after tet because of the shock of their people. and protests they began withdrawing after tet 1968 and. by 1973 the nva's le duc tho of north vietnam and henry kessinger signed the paris peace treaty well u.s. did not lose they just withdrew we russians really lost afghanistan
@dimitboris Really? Then surely Russia couldn't have lost in Afghanistan either. Our country withdrew completely from the country in 1989, which at that point the civil war among the government and foreign-supported Mujehadeen had become uncontrollable. The Afghan Democratic Republic still lasted until 1993 when the Taliban was finally able to capture Kabul city.
The South Vietnamese regime collapsed in 1975 less than 2 years after official withdrawl of the U.S military.
@wnxsilence well in afghanistan my uncle died during operation magistral by a single m16 headshot comrade watch battlefield vietnam series. like battlefield vietnam war on the DMZ by the u.s. entrance of 1965 to 1968 the nva began losing battles battle of la drang operation starlite operation attleboro operation hastings siege at khe sanh tet offensive battle of hue. and many other major battles u.s. won most of the battles in vietnam but after tet though u.s. won many protests back home
@dimitboris You don't even understand the Vietnam war, first off it wasn't waged as a conventional war as you seem to wrongfully believe. There were not two armies facing each other on the battlefield, it was not a war between the army of North Vietnam and the army of the U.S.
This is why I said it was idiotic for you to compare Vietnam to Afghanistan.
@wnxsilence well i just do not understand why u.s. wanna fight small north vietnam it really puzzled me the ARVN first of all is not their colony then why should they try to help them i am just comparing afghanistan in vietnam because both sides the u.s. and us did not prevent our ally from falling into enemy hands
@dimitboris The Vietnam war was not even fought on the official "DMZ" between North and South, this wasn't Korea. In Vietnam, the U.S was involved in destroying the insurgency WITHIN the territory of South Vietnam...and that is where most of the U.S war effort was directed at, and ultimately failed in doing.
True, it become too costly for the U.S to remain in Vietnam...but I don't see how that is relevant to the question of whether the U.S lost or not.
@dimitboris It could be said that it wasn't a complete failure for the U.S
One thing the U.S achieved was destroying Vietnam, and preventing any possibility that the Vietnamese may set an example for others aka. ("Domino theory")...the U.S did this by making the cost of independence so high, leveling the country, and killing up to 5 million people...
So yes, America didn't completely fail. But it did fail in preventing the collapse of the regime in the South and a reunification of Vietnam.
@wnxsilence well by 1973 north vietnams le duc tho and u.s.a's henry kessinger signed the paris peace treaty my friend and u.s. was out and by 1975 without u.s. help the ARVN proved they cannot hold without amerikan firepower it was the ARVN who failed completely
@dimitboris Either way it is irrational to compare the "Vietnam war" to Russian involvement in Afghanistan. The Vietnam war, which was not only in Vietnam (The U.S bombed Cambodia and Laos), was far longer, and caused the death of vastly more lives than the war in Afghanistan ever could hope to match.
People in Vietnam and the rest of Indochina are still suffering up until today from unexploded bombs, hidden U.S mines, and the devastating effects of U.S chemical warfare inside South Vietnam
@wnxsilence well just look at panjshir we failed to conquer it but your right if we remained there we will kick the taliban asses and kabul will never fall
@wnxsilence i only said we russians lost afghanistan is why our beloved USSR fell after our invasion in afghanistan? so i could say the mujahideen really did damage the morale of our armies
@wnxsilence which caused the u.s. to withdraw soldiers. begging 1968 after tet though our nva and vc comrades are weakening and finally at 1973 u.s. america's henry kessinger and north viertnams le duc tho signed the paris peace treaty so they did not lose. well in afghanistan my friend we were in that war with no assurance of victory if amerika remained in vietnam our nva comrades attempt to invade the south will always be repelled
Perfect example of how McNamara & LBJ presidency were a bunch of bafoons!
This is what happens when Politics runs a war
The administration would not allow fighters jets to take out Russian equipment or ships at Hai Phong; & they allowed the unimpeded growth of SAM sites around Hanoi; etc
Yes cause we know the Vietnamese never tortured anyone. All those thousends of accounts by South Viets and Americans were all lies. I dont like Mccain and I didnt vote for him, but I dont think hes lying.
