As readers of “The Hobbit” know, the tale of “The Downfall of The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit or There and Back Again,” are contained in the fictional “Red Book of Westmarch.”

The fictional book, and either the telling from it or the reading of it, will establish Frodo in the films experiencing Bilbo’s story. Viewers are to learn the tale of ‘The Hobbit’ as a familiar Frodo gets the tale as well.

@DIBASAUR - they are opening the film at a point in time just prior to where LOTR starts. From there it will go back in time to the start of the Hobbit. Elijah Wood and Ian Holm as Bilbo with both be seen in the opening of the film.

I love how Peter Jackson is going beyond just making The Hobbit book into a movie but also trying to show how The Hobbit ant The Lord Of the Rings come together, it just shows his love and passion for the books and also shows how amazing J.R.R. Tolkien truly is!!
