  • Funky Waldstein!, so funky the dog was bustin a move! En-freakin-core!! I want more!!

  • Thanks a lot for ruining this masterpiece.

  • @asdasdpokpok123 shut the fuck up bur.

  • nice idea and well done..allow me to say that there is still a lot of powder inside...in 0:20 i would stay closer to beet and would like to hear that growing mystic of the Waldstein...

  • @DanKreiger

You incorrectly translated my phrase)) I am not happy, so that a toy dog is always in a video frame that prevents focus on the music itself.

  • Wow, she is so good it should be illegal, WTF? I really don't get the number of dislikes in this video? Is it the dog?

  • Wow Amazingg!(:

  • more more more more more more :-)

  • what's with the dog puppet? :) great piano work!

  • she's mad!!!!! but all the best people in the world are mad :D

  • Sounds like Final Fantasy. Sounds great, but it is necessary that she plays like an actor?

  • @mistertom92 If u played the piano urself u would probably know this has nothing to do with acting... I can only speak for myself, but when i play difficult pieces, i am so completely in it that i could not at the same time focus on how it looks, even if i wanted. I do alot of crazy swaying or leaning forward (at silent passages) on my chair aswell - especially when i'm alone ;-) - but just in order to help getting the best sound out of it ;-) sry for the long text^^

  • waldstein piazolla hehe

  • Cool !

  • Why the heck is there a puppet in this piano video?

  • Wow!! Like!!!!

  • I am Jelly

  • this is amazing and creative.. great job!

  • Haha, I love how people are relating this to Final Fantasy soundtracks. Still, I agree, definately should be working with Square Enix...hahaha. The doggy was amusing to watch... :)

  • love the dog :D

  • Godlike, its a Mystery that there are some kind of People which gave an Bad Rating...

  • If I was playing the piano I'd be like "doggy i know it sounds great bt pleez no love stains on my piano thank u."

  • ...and that flea-bitten dog? :)

  • The Waldstein sonata has always been my favourite piece by Beethoven, and this short interpretation does that feeling no harm at all. Ms Matsumoto has a brilliant style that brings this beautiful sonata into a new age. I especially found the variation from 1:00 to 1:30 ish very romantique.

If you hate imagination and just want to hear this 'as written' in the original score go look up Gilels recording of this. I personally am going to enjoy both.

  • Magnifique. Tout simplement.

  • THIS FUCKING SUCKS IT RUINED IT

YOU CANT GET CREATIVE ON BEETHOVEN

  • @theclandestinum Who do you think are to think you have the right to post such a vulgar comment? The Adolf Hitler of classical music? Shame on you! The piano girl was great!

  • Creativity is freedom man so give freedom to people man, peace

  • Cool ! ;)

  • lol

  • very good musician.

  • We call such a performance stupid!

  • @maru19dotcom who is"we"?its a funny and very well done transcription, nothing else.and this really is everything but stupid.

  • Great rendition. Must have a great sense of humor too!

  • This reminds me of Uematsu.

  • I don't see what everyone's problem is. I might not prefer this style of music to the original, but it's an arrangement, the same way Liszt, Brahms, and even Bach arranged other people's music. Besides, it is so different from the original - it only uses thematic material and the development of the piece is not at all the same, so it's not like it's just some rehash of Beethoven or something. Kudos to her for trying to do something new.

  • Is this your own version?

  • it sounds like a zelda theme haha

  • I think its a bit unlucky to use your obvious great talent to jazz up such well known masterworks because listeners, ( at least its the case for myself) can only feel it as a decrease in quality when you change the well known perfect notes of beethoven. maybe you should rather try to compose own pieces or work on pieces that are already a bit "jazzy" and not such classical pieces like beethovens, that gain there quality by a strict rhythmical structure and melodic line. but thats just my opinion

  • lovely!

  • absurd shit!

making quite great music much smaller,

    that's what you're "good" at....

listen to a master like friedrich gulda, then you might get a glimpse of all the

    things you are incapable of.

  • stop murdering my favourite piano piece! Please.

  • Yeah! Modern sound from ancient times!

  • amazing!

  • sorry but i hate the way asians play the piano most of the time........

  • I agree that these are masterpieces where the artist needs to take credit, in addition to the composer. This young lady has motivated me to learn these composition. Caroline M. Neal, piano/organ instructor

  • What I'd like to know is why she doesn't market these as her own compositions - these deserve to be praised (greatly) on their own merit, rather than being arrangements. They're more like original compositions, inspired by certain movements.

They are amazing! And she should certainly be working with the Square Enix team - I'd buy Final Fantasy just for the soundtrack if she was playing! This piece is amazing. I want to see loads more! :D

  • @jakeyjazz It borrows way too much from the Waldstein sonata to do that in good conscience.

  • @712Stephen Point taken, but aren't there many other artists who re-use classical pieces and market them (successfully) anyway, still in good conscience? The two most prominent examples that spring to mind are Evanescence's 'Lacrymosa' (based on the movement of the same name in Mozart's 'Requiem') and Barry Manilow's 'Could it be Magic' (based on Chopin's Prelude no.20 in C minor), which, although heavily based on something else, are liked as pieces of music in their own right. Best wishes :-)

  • wow

  • Well done Asuka!

  • LOL@the dog

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • At 1:10, it started sounding less like beethoven and more like christian inspirational music, haha. nevertheless, this is very interesting!

  • lol ns :D amo ese perrito :D XD

  • nice

  • ??waldstein what?why raping a beautiful masterpiece?write something new..

  • my god. a beautiful work of art just taken ,and well... raped. this isnt beethovens waldstein sonata, this is uber japaneese super awsome like it today, dont remember it tomorrow awsome, if pianist not so cute hate it this instant, and if pianist male god damn flag it EDITION.

im sry but stuff like this just makes me mad.

  • Very very good respect!

  • i love this interpretation!

    very well done, woooow!

  • why do the pianist always move their heads ?

  • @GamerFreakXx

because it is natural. are they not supposed to move their heads? Is there a law that prohibits that? Should pianists only move their hands or feel the music and utilize their entire body ? The listener often is ignorant from true performance. I hope I enlightened you. And don't criticize yo yo ma or any "fluidly moving" musician for their style. try playing yourself.

  • Final fantasy edition XD

  • @TYpe498 haha

  • amazing! got a small touch of zelda / nintendo soundtracks :P

  • great!!! but what's with the stupid dog...?

  • @TheDeluche I'm pretty sure it's her father doing that, he dose it in the videos from when she was a kid also. Just as a joke thing.

  • Beethoven knew about jazz ;-) really marvellous!

  • Omg please can anyone tell me where you can get sheets for this, it is absolutely AMAZING!

  • sounds like final fantasy soundtrack xD

  • ich fasse keine worte....wow...einfach. WOW!..

  • Gorgeous!

  • interesting dog. maybe next time you will have a reall one (dog). :)))))))

  • omg...thats.. really.. wow..

    love u <3

  • maravilha parabens!

  • I was waiting for the dog to appear on the other side peeking around the corner.

  • disgusting

  • interesting interpretation! thank you.

    gruss

    peter

  • lol-tastic dog

  • sabu!

  • mei is des süß

    is sehr schön gespielt

  • I've always thought the beginning of this would sound awesome on electric guitar with those low chords!

  • WTF WITH THE F*KING DOG?!?!?!

  • wow... i lOVE your style! you sound great, im sure beethoven would dig it.

  • Beethoven si stà rivoltando nella tomba...

  • It sounds really good even it sounds more like a morden music piece but it is cool I like it

  • can't believe this piece could ever be from some classical composer. it rather sounds like a mixture of FF and Zelda music. great song. great play ;-)

  • Your arms muscles are huge!!! What's up with the bracelet above your elbow??? Why are asian people so good at piano?!?!?! WHAT'S UP WITH THE FREAKING DOG?!?!?! Nice job, btw (:

  • Amazing

  • this reminds me of final fantasy lol :D

  • Me too lol the rhythm is def. FF like xD

  • @wdrt1 haha yes youre right it realy sound like a song from FF XDDD

  • Perhaps because classical composers took lessons centered around classical masters in order to get a degree in composing classical music

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! The Waldstein Sonata never sounded more epic - especially at the part with that dog.

  • "Geiler Remix"???

  • Was zur Hölle?

    Datt Bärchen is ganz witzig.
