  • Is it me or is there a 4step latency here? I hear the sound about 4 steps after it has passed the button with the step-light

  • @dominatus84 This is really old software running on the very first prototype through a serial-to-MIDI converter so there are going to be lots of delays accumulating. The production version is very tight.

  • is there a through hole version?

  • @rhoggard76 Nope, there's no way through-hole parts would fit in the same form factor. The SMT parts are all easy to solder though: all 1.27mm or 0.95mm lead pitch, 0805 discretes, SOT-23 diodes/transistors, etc. It's actually even easier than through-hole soldering for these types of parts. Nothing scary like fine-pitch QFP's or BGA's.

  • @RuggedCircuits thanks for the fast reply, my $20 soldering pen wont melt the SMT stuff? or i can dail it down to Yellow? haha, its a Stahl

  • ill prolly order the max one. of course theres a limited amount? i got the last Oakley Sound TM 3030 (roland 303 clone) and this would be perfect

  • @rhoggard76 Nope, SMT stuff doesn't melt, as long as you don't leave the iron on too long. Flux is your friend!

BTW, check out the project's latest status at beat707.com

We don't have a limited amount. We can always make more!

  • Oh man can't wait to get mine and load it up with 808-style buttons!

  • This is so cool! :-) I will have the fixed new code sent to you guys later today.
