No modern army can be compared with the Spartans. Spartans were trained to kill and be merciless from the age of 10. I'm sorry but i cant see a connection of the Spartans with the American special forces. Actually check the facts. The marine corps has never lost a "battle" to date. The spartans lost to Rome on 2 occasions and the Athenians turned them back about 50 years before thermopile. The french foreign legion reminds me of the Spartans, they're tough as nails but almost all of their great battles involve mass casualties like the 300.

U do 13 weeks last time i spoke to one of yourlot, we do 32 weeks of basic training, thats the longest of any nato infantry unit and were not even special forces so no offence but come back when you've done 32 weeks of basic and then got atleast a few years under your belt mate.

there is no way a royal Marine goes through the combat stresses of a U.S. Marine. And I'm pretty sure D.I.'s are nowhere near as tough as ours. We're known for our combat skills worlwide as the most elite and toughest military branch in the world for a reason.
