  • I want that stove at 1:42 because IT'S PINK!!!

  • That seems like alot more than 25ml of water... but either way mine seems to be working so far, its cool when you blow on it, it crystalizes for a few seconds, then goes back to a liquid state. Alos 1ApertureRealeast, because otherwise after a few seconds it crystllizes, adding water makes it a solid liquid so to speak, then once you boil it off, it remains the same concept...

  • is it suppose to smell like wet gym socks when its in its packaging?

  • Why not just leave out the water?

  • coulldn't you just melt the sodium acetate by itself, and forget about the water?

  • can you do it with sodium acerare anyhydrous?

  • @ownpwndisown you can but you have to add water

  • Is there something else i could use instead of sodium acetate i cant find it in any shop and i rather dont buy it online my parents dont let me..

  • i just bought from you. and have some questions...

if its trihydrate, its already been hydrated so why do you need extra water?

after hot ice is formed, can you re-heat it and re perform the trick?

  • what proportion of acetate and water please...

  • Comment removed

  • is there any store not online that sells sodium acitate

  • i followed this to the word and it didnt work can you help me any advice?

i have tryed twice to do this following the instructions, and i get the same outcome every time its goes solid in the fridge i use exactly 100g and i use 25ml of water it looks like in the video they add allot more than 25ml, while boiling the sodium it leaves allot of residue on the side of the pan is that correct? and while its boiling it doesn't go clear untill i add the water, i dunno what im doing wrong please help

  • @mikesta360 if you don't want it to solidify in the fridge you need something to cover it and it must be air tight if that works reply to me

  • I has a question!

    After hot ice complete ice...

    can it recyle to melt?

  • @TNZBTTH Of course.

  • @TNZBTTH yep just melt it down or put a beaker in another beaker that has water and heat it

  • It doesnt melt. It exploded.. I think I turned it into sodium lol (obviously not)

  • the soduim acetate does not melt into a liquid just like that... i already tried it it almost purnt my pan!!

  • can you remelt it if you do it this way?

  • Your house is awesome!!!

  • Does it have to be clear vinegar???

  • No, but some say its less pure and will crystallize a little bit differently.

  • @witeflight it HAS to be white vinegar

  • @gehtomacgyver i got a question. i mixed white vinger with bi carb. until i could put bi carb and see some solid bi carb left over even after mixing it. then i filterd the solid bi carb out, now the solution is saturtrated right? so then i heated it untill crustation happend. i quckly removed it off the heat and poured it into a container. then i put it in fridge and let it cool. then i touched it and nothing happend. i tried even putting solid particles in it still nothing. help me to fix it.

  • @airpower123 ok now did u use 14 grams of sodium bicarbonate and 150 ml of white vineger then heat that up to boil of exes water and then w8 to see crystals form if no crystals for continue boiling down continue doing this to have a good indecater that it's done use a lamp and look to see if u see small particals floating around keep boiling it down on high and every 5 to 10 mins let it cool and chech for crystals ever 5 min use 14 grams of bi carb and 150ml of vineger ok good luck let me know

  • @gehtomacgyver i dont have an electronic balance to measure the masses accurately. all i need to is make the soluation fully saturated right? but i think ur right, i think i did add too much bi carb. and 150 mls of white vingar is too small quantity to heat useing a pan, i used 1 liter instead. i boiled it for about one hour and 15 minutes, untill i saw a thin film layer floating around. what extactly do you mean by crystals? how do i look for them? is it a film layer?

  • @airpower123 use backing soda and w/e amount of vineger and just kepp adind untill no more reactis this is reskiy but if you can gte all to react with out over adding then boil it down for about 20 mins take it off let it cool to room temp if crystals start to form let it all evaporate in the open air and pore off liquid that doest't evap just continue to boil it down if it's doesn't crystaliz ok ? now reme to boil off about 90%

  • The chemical is acetic acid. Acetic acid is present in white vinegar and that "apple" vinegar. For the most part, any different impurities will be removed as you boil the solution down. It will still form a matrix. Just because one vinegar is not clear does not mean it is more impure. I have formed crystal matrices with both kinds, so my experiences do not agree with ghetomacgyver's unsubstantiated claims.

  • @witeflight Fine you are entitled to your opinion, but it's just that an opinion not based on facts unlike my claims, but again you are entitled to an opinion :P. Oh and btw the fact that one being clear doesn't have any effect on the purity I'm aware of this, but if you were to use red wine vinegar opposed to white vinegar this reaction would not happen white vinegar has acetic acid only I may be gehto but my clams are fact not fiction ;).Have a nice day .

  • @Titman217 it HAS to be white vinegar

  • @Titman217 It' has to be clear vinegar it MIGHT work with other vinegar but the quality will be very low

  • damn i never use ebay

  • yeah but thats a bitch to do better off just buying it

  • it would be easyier to use NurdRage's method wat you do is get baking soda and vineger and mix together slowly and then boil until you see crust of sodium acetate then take some of the crust and put it aside then you put a little water in the solution and then let it cool then put the crust you saved in there and you have hot ice and baking soda is sodium bicarbonate

  • how do you clean up after this o.o, and can it be turned back from ice into Acetate?

  • Is "hot ice" sodium acetate

  • @Randumshitstudios yes it is

  • what the hell can you use hot ice for?!?!?

  • Who cares? It's awesome.

  • i know right

  • @chris26111 fun?

  • wrong, baking soda is sodium bicarbonate however you can make sodium acetate from baking soda and vinegar you put some baking soda in a pan or whatever and keep adding vinegar to it until it stops fizzing then you boil it off and then there you have sodium acetate

  • @camronfritz yeah but don't forget to use clear vingegar ;)

  • @camronfritz just buy the lab grade stuff its clearer

  • sodium acetate is baking soda

  • @Danz3267 no it's not backing soda is sodium bicarbonate lol

  • hhere can you find the sodium acetate
