does the cone only form when there is solute at the tip? or can it form with only solvent? I ask because we want to test our device without using valuable solute to calibrate it, if possible.
I believe for this test we were using a sodium citrate solution. As far as concentration, it was a while ago but I'm tempted to say that it was 0.5mM with pure water as the solvent.
