@huntman1412 I like it much better than final fantasy tactics. Maybe because you can still win even if you suck at these games... You can also pick up people and enemies (and prinnies, dood!) and throw them around. It's very fun. This game is on PS2, PSP, and DS. (I have the DS version)

Dude, I have a question: which version of Disgaea would you recommend for a newbie? I've heard that the DS version lets you skip some battle animation which makes some leveling go more quickly, but you miss out on the voicework (not sure I mind that so much).

Also, what other TRPGs do you recommend? My favs are Final Fantasy Tactics and Valkyria Chronicles. I'm thinking Ogre Battle 64, Tactics Ogre: March of the Black Queen, Jeanne D'Arc . . . whaddya think?

no. you use multiple people and maps are varied and can get pretty large. The video poster is just showing off his awesome laharl with a map that allows him to do alot of damage in one blow. Alot of disgaea maps do have gimmicks. That level might look easy but imagine when you are lower level and get swarmed by those guys.

If you have the PSP version you can steal one from Demonhall Mirror (but its a one time deal, if you miss your chance youll have to beat the game and start with a NG+).

In Disgaea, you can rename your character with any name.

The class of "Tifa" here is a female Brawler, so if the player want to make a cameo, he can name his brawler Tifa.

I also see that there's a Ronin with Motoko as name... which is funny since it's also the name of mine.

Like in many tactical, you can recruit new unit.

Disgaea system for this is through the assembly, where you "create" an unit.

Unlike in other game, though, it doesn't take cash to recruit new characters but Mana, which is another kind of cash, but which is per unit

Best place to start getting massive level is Valgypus IV with a sword user.

massive Winged Slayers here with an alternance of raising the enemy level will let you build some real level.

after that, repeat this in the Cave of Ordeal 3.

dude a good way to start leveling up is to go to the item world. keep at it until you get high level equipment and money. then get promoted a lot of times and do the extra stages at the assembly. once you reach the cave of ordeals you will see.

disgreee here, the best leveling way is to strat at valgypus IV with Winged Slayers.

the pattern is the same as Cave of Ordeal III, butr only with weaker enemy. this is THE best map for starting level. there u will get nice cash and level pretty fast... and get the power needed to start Cave of Ordeal III in little to no time.

the thing is that he didnt focus on completing the game, he focused on raising his level by doing that level that is showen first like it said he did it like 888 times. thats what i do.just keep leveling up until around 150-180 and do that level with two other characters around the same level like a fighter and a mage with the 3x3 attack special. you can do that level until your a very high level. dont let people like manicmirage put you down and pratice until you think youve done what you need.
