  • Kickass crowd.

  • Great. Now my pants are all sticky.

  • They look fucking awesome with flippy hair

  • a band that actually deserves worldwide fame.

  • LITTLE BUSTERS!!!>>>>>>>>>>anyway tanx!!!

  • I <3 the pillows!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • THESE GUYS RULEEEE!!!!!

  • this is how the beatles would sound if they were never broke up and released a new album.

  • @SNB222 and forgot how to speak english

  • Didn't find out about the Pillows until well after I saw FLCL. While my memories of that show are hazy, my love of the Pillows keeps growing and growing :p (and not just their soundtrack songs)

  • @doink1000 FLCL is on Netflix now

  • @fierykeep Wtf are you talking about?

  • @MalachiteR Thats the chorus of the song.

  • Everybody shut the f*ck up! The Pillows are playing!!!!!!

  • so cool =^=

  • Scuse me, why are we discussing something that has nothing to do with this song or even the Pillows? Hm? Now excuse me while I wander off and say all German rock bands are violent and misogynist because of Rammstein, hehe.

  • what's this "our music" shit? you haven't written anything, shut the fuck up.

  • @SmokeyCough its a reference to ALL the music created by popular "english speaking" musicians. the majority of music, pop, rock, everything. The majority of it all is now about nothing but sexual acts, drugs, and violence.

That user is american. and by saying 'Our music' he is referring to ALL americans music, the music that is the most well known in america that related to his comment. The music created by americans. and the 'artists' most well known in america

  • where is this at?

  • Oh yeahhhhhhhhh

  • i..dont...under...stand...you...jackie chan

  • Respond to this video... also because they rock and we us are in dept to china they rock even more

  • @hield101 China? The Pillows are Japanese...

  • @hield101 World's largest rock scene producing countries: USA, UK, and JAPAN. Tens of thousands of live houses and thousands of good bands.

China... sadly has no considerable rock scene to speak of. Rock music is still too alien in that country.

  • 666 likes! yeah!!

  • sounds like: "where the kids take on the future- where the kids dont need their masters- shes away in her little glass car- oh yeeeaaaah yeah yeah yeah." lol

  • 14 people are jealous they can't play or sing like the pillows.

  • first thing i noticed.....what an amazing croud they have, jumping all song long...

and the band itself is pretty amazing too

    reallly like them =)

  • hahaha first of all this song is great. However, the american music scene doesn't suck. It's huge! top 40 or billboard or whatever isn't the best, but the Pillows list so many existing american bands as their influences. There is amazing music coming out of US right now. Canada is on the up and up as well.

I love the Pillows though. They always make me want to go back and listen to some Weezer blue album and Pavement.

  • @XoddammaddoX PAVEMENT RULES and S-Yamanaka has got a pretty nice haircut. But did you see the drummer's hair?????

  • all hail the pillows and FLCL

  • i got to know this band by FLCL :)

  • @beloved113 me too

  • come on LITTLE BUSTERS!?

  • I agree America's music is terrible now then it was back then

  • Japanese Rock is the best music ever. I feel bad for America, and I live here... It has terrible music compared to Japan.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG !!!!!!!!

With the kids sing out the future !!!!!!!

maybe kids don't need the masters!!!!!

just waiting for the little busters!!!! that is true people !!!!!!

  • my ears cannot stop listening :P

  • pause at 1:32 i want his t shirt.

  • This song has such a positive sound!

  • AWESOME!

  • drummer has the lyrics on his shirt

  • YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!

  • i hav no clue wtf this guy is saying, but all i knw for SURE is that this band is awesome.

  • i known no idea what their saying but awesome

  • @nzephier lyrics are english mostly, listen closer..or just search the lyrics. And yes i love this band.

  • @nzephier just because you dont know about the good american music doesnt mean this comment is true. I would hardly say exlosions in the sky, the shins, dear and the headlights, circa survive, minus the bear, grizzly bear, or modest mouse fit your description and thats just a handful off the top of my head.

musicianship is making a comeback whether you realize it or not. to say all american music is tasteless is just not true and the product of very short sightedness.

  • @nzephier It is after all for American and British bands to be LOVED by people that don't even understand the language of the song.

  • @nzephier He's actually singing in english lol.

When the kids sing out the future, maybe kids don't need the masters. Just waiting for the little busters, oh yeah.

  • FLCL has a very deep story line.

  • @bewareofgeckov3

Go on IMDB, there are some good interpretations.

  • @bewareofgeckov3 you just have to watch it a few times.. trust me it does have a coherent story

  • @bewareofgeckov3 Once you pay very good attention to the storyline and looked deep into the metaphors then you would know what it is. If you somehow still don't understand it then look at wikipedia or something

  • Fooly Cooly!

  • alot of ppl love their song even if they are old

  • They are old but I still like their songs.....

  • thanx

  • sounds better edited, but it's still a masterpeice

  • They are a very nice band, awesome music!

  • was the kid from beck based off this dude 0:07

  • lmao DUDE!! that's looks exactly like him hah

  • actually the pillows apear on beck! under the name "the heroes" while taira is playing with other bands after ryosuke leaving

  • you can also hear one of their songs during the Rock Festival. They dont introduce the band playing the song or anything but you can hear the song "Rookie Jet" playing in the background

  • No haha

  • this was uploaded on my birthday hell yea

  • It makes sad how old they're getting D:

    Especially the singer.

  • do you know how old Sawao is now

  • He's turning 41 this year. And I didn't mean anything bad by them getting old D:

They are the one of the best bands ever in my opinion and can still rock out like they used to back in the day. I've been listening to them forever. I'm really grateful for the anime FLCL because before that, hardly anyone in the states knew who they were.

  • I'm grateful for it, too. Introduced me to them! :D

  • id heard a couple of there songs before flcl but i hardly had a computer (was on win 98 with dial up connection) so i couldn't really look for them.. and i was like 7.. loved them anyway

  • no they are immortal... like vampires and stuff

  • You're right. Do you have any suggestions?

  • If America started making rock music that sounds like this I'd probably be listening to more recent rock songs because most of the American rock songs i have in my collection are from the 60s - 80's. If i'm missing a recent American band that sounds like this please lead me to that direction. I'd love to add them.

Most of the stuff we get now are shitty emo music.

  • @domopj You're a dumb ass.

  • @Kanarkly Yeah I didn't know what I was talking when I said that. I was DomoPJ btw. No sarcasm, thanks for calling me on that.

  • bs i look up to j rock than euro rock...AND IM JUST A SOUTHERN TEXAS BOY

  • ♥♥♥♥!!!!! <3 luff them

  • oh dude, they are awesome!

  • your an idiot....

  • theyre japanese and they sound nothing like the beatles

  • right now I consider japans rock to be near the heighth of ours, I jsut hope they don't go passed the tipping point like we did. Our music is nothing but angst, sex, violence, more angst, more sex, and everyone once and awhile the old bands come out with a new gold dubloon

  • -_- you sir, are dead wrong

  • the hell's your problem?

  • "chinese" beatles??? what an fuckin insult..

  • Besides they're Japanese!

Why would chinese peeps make the soundtrack for a hit anime series (FLCL)?

    They wouldn't!

  • thats what im saying

  • @ZeroToNowhere You obviously are some old guy or some dumb ass that thinks mainstream rap somehow means all modern music, it's not. You also clearly do not listen to a lot of modern music because you know shit... Globally, Japanese music is no where near American music, or British music for that matter. Japan does make some good music, but try not to exaggerate... >.>

  • @Kanarkly LOL, you fail. everything he said was correct, and the gold dubloon part is spot on, America has shitty music and it always will, as long as california and newyork keep pushing out tard baybs. nobody said anything about british music, because theres too fucking much of it.

  • @fuer321 Apparently intelligence isn't a big thing in Fiji, or Portland... People usually don't try to deny that American music is the most popular, an example is if you look at the current top 100 songs in European, the top song is American, Lady Ga Ga : Telephone, most of the songs at the top are American/Canadian and guess who doesn't even have one song in the top 100..... Japan..... It's the same in North America and South America. So apparently Americans do make good music... Dumb ass

  • @Kanarkly i didnt say popular.....theres a big difference between popular music and good music, somthing can be utter shit and be listened to by the majority of people, and i love how you troll my intelligence to make your fat self feel better about how log you spend defending the pillows video comment bow, get a life.

  • @fuer321 Can you possibly be that dumb? Generally if more people listen to a certain song far more than some other song than it's probably better, I know individuals might not like it but, the more popular it is, the better it probably is as a whole... I made fun of you because you type like a 10 year old and some how managed to misspell "long", so thanks for proving my point dumb ass, I like how you tried to call me fat and making yourself sound even dumber... Fag >.>

  • @Kanarkly by the way, the original comment was about japanese music in japan, ,not japanes music in america, you fuckin twit.

  • @Kanarkly Riiiggghhhhtttt , exaggerate as in call some guy you don't even know an old man . RIIIIGGGHHT .

  • @ZeroToNowhere

    perfectly said

people say that im weird that i listen to jrock/jpop and kpop, but i say americans now are just too close minded when it come to style and music, me as an american saying this ^^

  • @ZeroToNowhere i could'nt disagree more The Pillows got it right but most j-rock bands aren't that great, you are really discrediting tons of US bands

  • @ShockAdvised1 I'd have to agree, since I posted that comment I rethought it and I realize how limited a scope I was using. In the end music is music and the greats are the greats regardless of their time period or nationality. There's always a diamond in the rough of music, there's just a shit load of rough to sift through and like the tides the amount of rough shifts over time.

  • @ZeroToNowhere Agreed, they aren't quite as high as we were at are zenith, but I hope they pass us, though that's asking for a lot.

  • @ZeroToNowhere ROCK WAS ALWAYS ABOUT ANGST AND VIOLENCE AND SEX ALWAYS WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU

  • @CFFDan Please distinguish between rock as a musical genre and rock as a message or movement.

  • @ZeroToNowhere what a bullshit. ^^

  • @ZeroToNowhere

Sex, violence and angst is just fine. Its when it's in excess that's the problem.

  • @ZeroToNowhere What makes you think that their rock isn't exactly the same? Do you even know what their saying?

  • @narutolll This is exactly right. Japanese rock is, for the most part, just as bad as American rock is. It can be even worse occasionally, too, because unlike American musicians, Japanese artists have absolutely no problem going the whole nine yards in terms of explicitness.

  • @TychoReviews you say that like it's a bad thing, nine yard of explicitness an expression of free speech, as is burning the flag.

  • @ZeroToNowhere Explicitness is not a bad thing. Explicitness for the sake of explicitness is a bad thing. It's like comparing a love song that happens to mention sex, with a song that mentions f-cking your grandmother. I've heard both. One is relevant, the other is shock value. The Japanese don't care about explicitness very much in terms of media. Some bands are built on it, even. Granted, a lot of American music, particularly rap, is hitting that point, but it isn't mainstream yet.

  • @narutolll Jesus Chrsticles, I;ve gotten a lot of flack for that comment. I don't agree with it, that was a long time ago. it was said with the very limited and immature view of a 16 yr. old. I've come to understand since, some of the nature of music and the fact that the japanese aren't as cool as I thought they were. Yes, I've had all the lyrics translated by one source or another and know most of the lyrics by heart. I know this is the internet, which affords me to mercy. so, fuck off.

  • The drummers T-shirt is awesome. Anyone know where I can buy good 'the pillows' merchandise?

  • they need to come to the US especially Florida

  • AND CHICAGO AS WELL!!! :D

  • they have come to america check there myspace they have all there touring dates there

  • there are a lot of pillows fans in texas and california dude

  • like i said....i have nothing agaisnt them...i just said that no j-rock band will ever be as famous or influential as a band that has come outta Europe...

  • Aww I wish!!! =( I've been a long time fan.. but im not holding my breath on that one..

  • lol the pillows are like the japanese version of weezer

  • Holy hell your right...

  • great !!

  • oh my god,

I want the T-shirt of the drummer!

  • 3 facts

    1. Everyone has read that over 9000 times.

    2. It's not funny.

    3. Your != You're YOU FAGGOT

  • well i had the best day ever, so you can suck it sir

  • cool story bro

  • 3 facts

    1. Everyone has read that over 9000 times.

    2. It's not funny.

    3. Your != You're YOU FAGGOT

  • cool story bro

  • wow, i remember wen i first heard this on fooly cooly, man i feel old...

  • UVerworld + Orange range...

And a bit of YUI...Plus the pillows.

    These singers/bands are awesome...

  • Don't forget Flow and Abrington Boy's School. xD

  • Abrington Boy's...

For the love of god don't compare the pillows to piles of shit. They're one of the best, not the worse.

  • They aren't piles of shit. They are awsome. Just cuz you think one band is horrible doesn't mean others think the same. If they were horrible the wouldn't have been famous.

  • FLCL!!!!!!!!!! ahhh bringing back memories of middle school : )

  • this band is my fav. other than linkin park... lol little different, but i heard them on flcl and was like...... win.

  • wow they just give one great yelp then grow quite, HYIGHT!!!!! hahaha, good song

  • The second i heard ythe opening line something clicked in my head and i thought OOOO i heard this on FLCL..... I think i may have gained interest in yet another J-rock band...

  • Man I wish I was there

  • for some reason the japanese people actually know how to play live. everyone else sucks at that, they are the only ones you can't really get disappointed to see live

  • Totally agree with you. I usually hate live versions of anything...but Im discovering these Japanese bands are excellent at their live act, so much so that Im beginning to prefer the live renditions to the album versions.

  • What bands do you two listen to live then? There are plenty of bands that are good live, some I actually prefer live. I do agree that the pillows are fairly good live, but still.

  • Love Asian Kung-fu Gen...and alittle bit of Orange Range.

  • Also Aqua Timez and Bump of Chicken maybe Uverworld

  • the japanese have mastered every thing especialy anime, music , video games, they did make devil may cry

  • awesome crowd

  • These guys are less like J-Rock than they are the classic 70s and 80s punk rock bands. They would not seem the least off doing a cover of London Calling by the Clash (who, as you all know, or should know, were only the greatest punk rock group of all time).

  • I do agree that they are representing punk rock bands in the 70s and 80s but they are still Jrock. Go look up asian kongfu generation, they are just as old as the pillows, and they are considered Jrock. They don't follow the Visual Kei like most Jrock do but they are the most unique Jrock style in Japan.

  • yes, love the A.K.F.G...but I can't get away from the amount of music the Pillows have generated. Their discography is twice the size of AKFG! They both rock...I like Japanese rock better than I the shit we're pumping out these days.

  • OMG this is the song!!!! <333 i love this songgg!!!!

  • I fucking love this song so much, ever since the first time I saw FLCL. I think the anime, and therefore the song, marked me so much because I was about Ta-kun's age when I saw it.

  • FOOLY COOLY!!!! =D

  • m encaantan¡¡ xd

  • what the hell are you talking about they sound fine, better then a whole bunch of other bands

  • this song is in FLCL.gotta love J-Rock

  • all the songs in FLCL are by the pillows

  • not true.... the OST of FLCL has some songs not made by the pillows... but yea most of them are from the pillows

  • just a waiting for the little busters o yeaaah :D

  • omg love the pillows!

  • Wow, they sound great live.

  • this style of rock music is mid 90s which i like it. most of todays rock are mixed with alternatives and hip hop, coming out pure rock is rare like this song is quite rare these days.

  • Super Agree!

  • What? just regular agreeing would have sufficed...

  • super amazing.

  • love the song, love the band, posted my own vid of it (with lyrics/translation) sorry for the shameful plug please don't mark it spam

  • also did one for ride on shooting star.

again, sorry for both shameful plugs.

  • this is an awsome song. but im lost....its furi kuri? i mean i thought it was fooly cooly since thats what i have seen it as since FLCL you can see where the Ls come from but if it is furi kuri where do the Ls come from to make FLCL? or the c for that matter....but any way this song is still great

  • FLCL, Furi Kuri, and Fooly Cooly are ALL correct. It's just that Furi Kuri is proper Japanese Romaji. You see in Romaji, there is no letter "L" so they use the letter "R" for the closest sound. The reason for the rest of the changes are because of Romaji pronunciation.

  • It's pretty funny sometimes. In Death Note, they call L eru.

  • that´s true

  • @SoR39TRIGGER yeah there r's sound like L's . thats kinda like a christmas story where the chinese people were saying "ra ra ra ra" instead of "la la la la la"

  • i love the band

and the anime they star in

i especially love their new song Tokyo Zombie

  • its awsome

  • Do they mean "little bastards"?

  • No. It does sound like that sometimes. It's just how he pronounces it.
