This thing absolutely rips for vintage tone. I run it through a 70's Fender Dual Showman Reverb head. Perfect classic rock sound with my 79 LP custom.
I'm not a gearhead, but I've been buying pedals since 1976 and have been playing in bar bands since '81. For my needs this is an awesome pedal. I use it with a Tele through whatever amp is available and I can usually get my sound. (Crunchy but not metal-like.)
I wonder if this pedal would sound better driving the front end of a dirty amp with the gain turned down and the level at closer to 1 o'clock? In this vid you keep the gain about half way up, which really is more gain than you generally look for in a front end boost.
@TTK u always use the same settings and try to get a clasic rock sound and all the pedals sound the same to me,you shoud show the max of wath you can get of an pedal/amp
@wickedsickmetal Well, it's an opinion. I've used and owned several Digitech pedals and floor processors on stage and in studios and it's always left a bad impression. I just saw his video for the Tube Overdrive and I really liked it a lot. TK is the man for his non-biased reviews.

I think Digitech makes a "quality" product, but their stuff sounds way too digital. Honestly a good tube amp pushed by a tube screamer is the way to go. But thanks to TTK for putting out honest reviews so people don't purchase crap just because it looks cool.
@DB73093 I don't think so. I've heard a lot of amps that sounds pretty horrible and a lot of pedals that sound really good into a clean amp. Just depends on what product you're talking about. The AMT pedals, which are actually preamps, sound great.
@danukenator123 Overdrive pedals are a different story since they don't replace the distortion of the amplifier, I use a TS-9 as a level boost which in turn gives me more gain.
good demo i have the hardwire delay and have tryed some of others none of them are over the top when it comes to tone but they are made really good i wood say that they are a good work horse pedal
Well, I listened to the OD and the Dist. over again and my ears like the OD pedal better. Especially if your going to kick an OD channel into OD Plus. LOL
I guess I'll put this one on the list for Post Christmas.

Does it have a blue light Hardwire logo, or is that a reflection?

@KillianNZ That's reflection/last from that epically bright LED. Great pedal, awesome for beginners

Saturated sounds like crap. I don't trust digitech at all.

@maneat94p you will get a wider overdriven distortion

A Pedal will always sound like a Pedal. Amp distortion is the only way-to-go.

Very crisp and rich without turning into mud over the clean channel. Especially the Overdrive. It had a very warm and vintage tone.
